町屋の風情で懐かしさを感じながらも、設備は最新のもので綺麗で快適だった。
外を車が通ると振動をかなり感じる。

Obama is an incredibly charming town and we all loved our time at Obama Machiya Stay. Thank you!

The location was great. The houses were cleanly and spacious. We got vouchers for free drinks (only hot coffee) and souvenirs around town.
It was a confusing check-in process. They were going to fine us $40 for checking in late, but luckily one member of the group was able to get there earlier. He had to call and wait a while, but he was able to check in at the cheaper price. Overall the communication just wasn't great.
Also, the houses are advertised as next door to each other, but they are actually a 10 minute drive from each other, which is not what we expected at all.

The person in charge of welcoming us was so kind. Before arriving, a Typhoon was arriving to Japan and we get an email from Machiya stay staff to advise us that all train connections will be suspended. We decided to travel there one day earlier and their staff found for us a place to stay.
When we arrived, we got pick up at the train station (for free) for a short ride to our Inn.
Staff also invited us for a visit in their car in some places to go during our stay. A 2 hours ride just for entertainment.
Great advices, such a great attitude. Awesome experience.
Everything was perfect, really.
The only things that can be a bit improved (to find some) are the following :
- the two extra beds at the ground floor could have been softer (the one at 1F were perfect)
- a washing machine would have been welcomed
- Bath towels + plaid should have been great as the stay is close to the sea shore
But my overall feedback is that you can go there : you won't be disappointed.
