About this house rental
The Apple in Bridgetown is a relaxing get away - a gorgeous heritage farm house to call your own for a night, weekend or week. 3 hours drive south of Perth, The Apple sleeps up to 12 people. 3 bathrooms, internet, modern amenities plus old fashioned fun including wood stoves and open fireplaces.
The Apple is a 1920s family home on 8 acres of land on the Blackwood River, Bridgetown WA. 3km from the townsite.
It was once the farm house of a large apple orchard. It has a huge lounge room which in the 1940's hosted monthly dances.
Bridgetown is a gorgeous treasure in the south west. It's a small town located in a picturesque valley. The town centre is lively, with quality cafes, restaurants, wineries and boutiques. It has a long running annual Blue Festival in November, plus has many other art and culture events throughout the year.
It's easy to get caught up cooking, relaxing and never leaving the property, but it's close to heaps if you want to explore more.

Note: There is a caretakers cottage on the property also, which may be occupied during your stay. From January 2022 the property will be slowly transformed into a working farm, so there is likely to be some activity on the property. Please note if your booking is on weekdays there may be some power/garden tools used in daylight hours. We do our upmost to give you complete privacy during your stay.
When considering staying with us please be mindful this is a old country home in a rural area. If you're looking for all the modern comforts and predicability of a commercial hotel this might not be the accommodation for you. If you are after a genuine country experience with rustic charm, space, freedom and privacy we think you'll love our place. Being in a rural setting you may encounter more animals, spiders and bugs than the city, a lizard may give you a fright in the garden or you might hear a possum at night. Being an old house you may encounter the occasional imperfection, we are constantly making improvements but it is a 100 year old house.

Two sisters over 55 and our 87 yr old Dad. Warm, cosy, felt just like home. This is my third visit and we’re rebooking for 2025. Three bedrooms with three bathrooms suited us perfectly. Overly stocked kitchen made our family dinners easy peezy. Warm fireplaces, electric blankets and the comfiest bedding. We loved it 😊

Great location, great house, great communication, what's not to like about that?

We enjoyed our stay, but felt the level of cleanliness was disappointing. The bathrooms could have been cleaner, and not sure if disinfectant (ie bleach or other) had been used. The fridge interior needed a wipe down including the door. The microwave needed a clean also.
The bbq drip tray was full and needs to be emptied.
We noted when the reticulation came on in the garden beds (whilst sitting out in the decking) the there are a few sprinklers or drippers that aren’t connected and hence water just shooting up in the air.
We love the homestead, gardens and trees, very relaxing.
There was also a strong smell, we couldn’t determine whether it was a dead skink, rat, fertiliser on the gardens or the plumbing, as it seemed to be all around the house.

What a wonderful property. We were constantly surprised by all the little nooks around the property. A beautiful place to stay. Lovely hosts, gorgeous old house that accommodated us so well with the three bathrooms. We will be back.

Just had a fabulous 3 night stay here celebrating our birthdays. 3 couples and 3 dogs. This property is perfect with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Cosy and warm with fires inside and out. Would definately recommend staying here and we will be back again for sure 😊

We had booked for 7 but we ended up with just 3 of us. Absolutely loved the architectural features- floor boards, high ceilings, ceiling roses, fireplaces and verandahs. Felt very spoilt with a bathroom off every bedroom and the great activities on-site like the trampoline, badminton, fire pit and board games.
Would recommend to any large group wanting the peace and quiet and permission to chill, as well as the activities of Bridgetown close by or the activities at The Apple itself.
Our favourite thing to do in the evening was to light the fire and gaze out the windows at the greenery and lightly falling rain. Cosy.

Have wanted to stay at this property for some time. Loved the space and character of the home. Lots of personal touches around the home - a full and interesting bookshelf, a guitar, art works and photos. The home tells a story and we get to be a part of that for a while. This home had everything we needed and a beautiful spacious yard. Family game of badmington, the in-ground trampoline and local river swims were a highlight. Each of our kids had their own room and bathroom which was an enormous treat! Thanks so much for this beautiful home. We'll be back.

Wonderful, quaint property on large quiet block very close to town but far enough away to enjoy the peace and birdsong.
Well appointed house with large rooms including three bedrooms and three bathrooms with lovely hot water for those cold mornings. We were two couples and we had plenty of room and comfort. Definitely recommended.

The minute I arrived I felt like I was at home. The beds are super comfy, the ensuite bathroom to each bedroom is such a well thought out addition. Everyone had their space, whilst the family kitchen/dining and living bought us all together for evenings of board games and laughter. I just love it here I may never leave. Thankyou Aimee for a wonderful week in your home.

The Apple is a favourite with our family. It is set on the most beautiful property and has everything you could want for a gorgeous country getaway. The owners are so great with communication and very helpful. Highly recommend this place!

The property had everything we needed to be comfortable. The fire was on when we arrived which was lovely.
The kids had the best time running around the property all day long (bring gum boots!). It was also a paradise for our old dog.
10/10, would absolutely love to come back again.

Home has three bathrooms and lots of beds.the kitchen is exceptionally well appointed. It is a very relaxing place to stay with beautiful surrounds within an easy distance of Bridgetown. The new wood fire is lovely in cold weather. It is also dog friendly and a real doggy paradise. The kids loved the trampoline and swing sets.

Great for families
We stayed there in December with friends and there was plenty of space for 4 adults and 4 kids. It was very clean. One room is attached to the house but has it own entrance. We thought we would have the kids there originally but ended up having them inside in case they woke up at night and decided to wander the wrong way! The master bed room inside the house is far from the smaller room so if you have very young kids maybe bring a baby monitor because you may not hear from the other room. Also the gas bottle for the bbq was empty and we realised it too late so better to check beforehand and there was no spare one that time, but we could have gone to change it in Bridgetown. The land around the house was huge and lots of things to do for the kids, they really had a great time! The owner was very good at replying from the beginning and we would go back there with no hesitation and recommend it. Very relaxing place :)

Loved our stay in Bridgetown! The house was fabulous and the grounds were beautiful. Each morning we woke up and sat outside on the lounges with our coffee watching the rabbits and the horse stroll past next door. Our son loved the trampoline and we all loved the games provided in the game cupboard.
We took our 2 dogs with us and they had a ball - so much to explore around the property for them.
Thanks for the stay!

Away from it all
Lovely rustic home away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We unfortunately had to cut our stay short as one of our party was ill but I wouldn’t hesitate in booking again to return as we didn’t see everything that was on offer.

The house was cosy, well stocked and excellent for young and old. The fire pit, trampoline and outdoor games were enjoyed by all. A terrific stay had by all. Thanks 😊

The wood fire had been lit for us when we arrived by the cleaner ,it was a cold day but lovely and warm inside . Our daughters dog laid on her bed in front of the wood fire and never moved . The kitchen had everything you needed to cook up a feast. The lounges were very comfortable and the tv a good size. The beds were comfortable and warm the only down side was the bath not very safe for older people as it is hard to stand up in and very difficult to get in and out ( needs a hand rail ) so we all used the shower in bedroom 2. The Apple is a warm and cosy cottage would love to return again next winter

It was great to have all the family in one house so we could catch up over dinner , watching AFL and cooking marshmallows on the fire out outside. Walking outdoors around Bridgetown is just magical. We all had a fantastic time. The house provided all what we needed. Just bring food drink and personal items and have a great time.
