Very nice experience staying at Smriya homestay. I felt very welcomed by the family. The room was a bit small but very cozy and had everything you basically need. Location is good, away from the busy town and quite. The dinners were fantastic. All in all I recommend and will definitely come back for a second time.

Excellent budget stay in Darjeeling

If you are travelling on a budget and willing to sacrifice a "mountain view room" - Smriya will surely impress you. It's a short and pleasant walk from the attractions (Zoo/ Mall Road etc.) The facilities provided were accurate to the description, the property was very clean and the free wifi was impressive. I tried the in-house food once and was very happy.

Best budget Homestay in Darjeeling

The location is ideal for a solo traveler or a backpacker couple who love to stay a bit away from the streets and explore all by themselves. I would recommend the place for young couples too, who are looking for budget accommodation and away from the attention of the city. Almost everything that you need to see in Darjeeling are within 2-2.5 km radius. So even if you choose to explore the heart of Darjeeling towards the end of your journey, it is very well possible. The owners were very kind and food was of top quality. Room was clean and well lit with 24x7 water and electricity supply (but I recommend to use both judiciously and responsibly). Service was just a call away as the owners stayed very close by. Warm and cozy bed. Best dinner and tea I have had in a couple of years 😌.

This is not a negative but personally I found the slope (less than 100m) leading to the main road pretty challenging.

Great location, service to room while chilled outside and travelling with kids. Mouth watering dishes make you feel homely atmosphere. Help for anything regarding your stay or sightseeing's.

The place is very cosy and clean and the family who run the home stay is very friendly and helpful with everything. The great view if you step outside is a sweet extra.

Darjeeling is charming.

My one entrance and possebilitys for renting a heater. And very nice and easy owners. It is also quit sentral to many places around.😀

Small, cozy homestay with delicious tea and friendly hosts

Very nice, cozy homestay about 20 minutes walking from central Darjeeling town. When I arrived, I was offered a delicious cup of tea, and the hosts also made me a warm bowl of noodle soup on a snowy night when all the nearby restaurants were closed.

The location is good but most of the shops and restaurants nearby close before dinner time. It about 2 kilometers to the center of town (you can take a tuk-tuk easily if you don't want to walk). The room was a bit cold but I think I was there during one of the coldest weeks of the year (there was even snow!).
