Breakfast spread is excellent. Probably the most enjoyable bit of my stay.
Location is good for short trips by hotel’s golf cart.
Staff friendly and keen to help. English proficiency needs improvement.
A bit pricey even during low season. Would not recommend my family to stay Avani!

the bed was two double bed combined and you can feel the edges.
also there’s no sound proof, you can hear janitors vacuum the hall way from 8am

Room was very good, clean and staff very friendly
Laundry cost $120 was a rip off for a number of items that would cost $30-40 in a 5 star hotel anywhere in the world. The breakfast and food in the restaurant was well below expectations.

Literally nothing about this hotel was acceptable for a five star rated resort
1. Unacceptable noise and environmental insulation of the room - we had a swarm of mosquitoes in the room on arrival and I had to spend an hour on our arrival killing them in order to be able to occupy the room. Further, as there were cracks under and in between the doors in the room we had a constant stream of mosquitoes and noise entering the room. In the mornings I was woken up from 8am as there was a school house directly opposite our room. As a result I was unable to get a full night of sleep which completely defeated the purpose of opting to stay at a 5 star rated resort.
2. The size of the room is falsely advertised on online travel agencies. Avani+ Luang Prabang is marketed as being a 505 square foot or 50 meter room on Booking.com when in fact the living space of the room is no more than 200 square feet or 20 square meters. The garden area in the back of the room may comprise an additional 20 square meters or so but it was unusable, again, due to the swarms of mosquitoes infesting it.
3. The quality of the food services at the venue were abysmal and overpriced for what they were.
4. The van to airport was full of mosquitoes.
5. The pool was filthy, full of dead insects and leaves and debris. It was completely unusable.
Nothing about our stay at the Avani+ Luang Prabang was luxurious, nothing about the property deserves a 5 star rating. I understand that Laos is a less developed country but still, you shouldn't falsely use internationally recognized standards to market a property that doesn't meet even the basic criteria to be considered a luxury resort.

Everything was lovely. The staff gave great recommendations and took care of us well through the trip. The hotel was really cute and breakfast was good. Nothing to complain.

Super Lux, and in an excellent location !!
Just across the road from the Night Market, National Museum, Mount Phousi and in walking distance to cafes, Mekong River etc…
Complimentary buggy service to drop guests off to town, restaurants etc was really a big plus. Staff are also well trained and able to provide good recommendations on places to go, restaurants/ cafes to check out etc … The hotel manager, Kian Ming also goes out of his way to make guests feel welcomed and when there was a emergency electrical outage due to maintenance works, a complimentary day trip on the mekong river cruise was organised for hotel guests!
The breakfast spread is also excellent !!
can’t think of anything negative

Location is great, in the middle of old town, close to the night market.
The hotel is full of facilities as you can expect from Avani.
Staff were nice, they try to response us all things we request.
Breakfast was excellent, I love that you can do the cold pressed juice yourself.
Air condition in our room was broken at night, the staff has changed the room for us immediately.
Even it was not convenience to move the room but I appreciate how they try to fix problem.

The hotel was very clean and in a nice location.
I booked three rooms at the Avani- one of our rooms never got cooler than 78 degrees. Another room we had to ask to be moved because AC was broken there also. Noise from other rooms was very loud. I could hear the pings on my neighbors cell phone with my door closed. Breakfast is included but no one tells you there is a menu. They are kept behind counter and you are directed to the buffet instead . We didn’t find this out until halfway through our stay.
The only way to change clothes in room with privacy is to pull curtain across between bathroom and bed - but my curtain would not move- was stuck open on the right side of room. Never received a copy of my bill because printer was broken. I was told one would be emailed to me, but that never happened either.

Some staff were so nice - I'd mention Chun from restaurant who was so attentive during breakfast. Nice staff is no surprise in SEA in general, but this guy was genuinely caring and we appreciated it a lot.
Swimming pool is so nice - it has steps on both sides, so was safe for my baby to play there
Overall hotel was beautiful, nicely located, offered good air-conditioning and breakfast was very good. A good value for money if you get a promotion deal.
Bathroom and toilet offer no privacy (frosted glass doors so no soundproofing). Same with room doors - we could here all the corridor noise.
Some furniture haven't been cleaned properly. Outdoor couch in our suite had a strong sweat odor.
Amount of mosquitos - hotel needs to offer some traps, otherwise we had 10+ mosquitos in the room despite using plug in oil and an AC. However this is an issue with other hotels as well in LPB.
