To say I liked EVERYTHING about the Dower House is an understatement, it was exceptional in every way. Neil and Rosemarie are wonderful hosts and could not have done more to make our stay perfect. I will definitely return and do not hesitate to recommend this beautiful hotel.
There was nothing to dislike and everything to love about this wonderful hotel.

Great hotel, we stayed in the ground floor suite with our two miniature dachshunds which was perfect for us with doors opening directly onto the garden, lovely to have so much space, the bathroom was one of the nicest bathrooms we have had in a hotel. We took breakfast in the bar with our dogs and it was delicious, dogs received a sausage. Lovely grounds to walk in. Hotel only 8 minutes drive from Lyme Regis. Will definitely be back and highly recommended.
Everything was perfect.

A really nice place just outside Lyme Regis which is not a bad thing as parking in Lyme Regis is atrocious. Lovely hosts who clearly made an effort to decorate and furnish the property with good quality items. It is obvious that they did spend money to buy quality showers, toilets and sinks (Thomas Crapper), bedding, towels, etc. As a customer you feel valued not a money making machine.
Room - large, clean with a good selection of beverages and sweets. Nespresso machine and kettle. Plenty of seating - settee, armchair and dressing table stool. Magnifying make up mirror. The bedding was of good quality, the towels also of very good quality, fluffy and brilliant white, not the tired affairs sometimes found in hotels. Breakfast was excellent - good quality products. The hotel also has a pool. It looked great in pouring rain so I am sure it will look even better in summer. The grounds are immaculate with plenty of seating. Would visit again. The hosts are lovely and they deserve praise.
The weather was dreadful so we would have appreciated dinner on site (hence 9 instead of 10); despite the fact that the restaurant recommended offered a 10% discount and was very good. Maybe we should have asked if we could have had a takeaway in the dinning room. But really this is a minor issue which we noticed because we were tired and drenched. It would probably not have bothered us under different circumstances and should not detract form the fact that this is really a very nice boutique, family run hotel.

Dog friendly
Room a little small but understand there are bigger rooms which could be requested

The owned and staff were very helpful. The breakfast was lovely. The room was a good size and comfortable, clean and, like the property as a whole, well maintained. The property is about 3 miles outside Lyme, but provided you have a car is straightforward to drive there. it is a god Baer for accessing the South West coastal walking path.
Not much.

very comfortable with huge attention to detail. service was very personal.

It was beautifully clean and excellent breakfast
location is a bit misleading as it’s measured to a sign rather than centre of Lyme Regis. A long way out and not walkable on main road with no path. Owners incredibly pleasant but felt like staying in someone’s country home rather than a hotel. Room check in at 4pm was the latest I have ever come across and was strictly adhered to. Not great after a 3 hour drive arriving at 2.45

A very good property in a quiet location but near many attractions.

The pool was an added bonus ( but not the restrictions) the grounds were lovely and it was convenient. Getting a discount at local restaurants was a nice touch
We booked this room in January choosing to book a double. We found it disconcerting that on arrival we were told that we would be in the smallest room. We felt very ‘budget’ I don’t know why we should get the smallest room after booking so early or even why we were told. It did have a negative impact. We also found the restrictions around the pool use and breakfast rota a little unnecessary and add. This is a lovely hotel nonetheless

The hotel is first rate. We thoroughly enjoyed the building, the grounds, and meeting the owners. Breakfast was exceptional, and the bar extremely comfortable.

Lovely room, beautiful views and excellent breakfast. Staff were exceptionally helpful and carried my fathers bags to and from his room. He felt very happy to make this his base for a trip down memory lane and thoroughly enjoyed his stay.
It is hard to improve on perfection, there was nothing that needed improving excellent facilities service and staff. Comfort and high standards in a magnificent setting.

Central location, very helpful and accommodating staff, clean property, comfortable bed, lovely garden and swimming pool, and delicious breakfast. An extra bonus was getting to meet the four very friendly resident Great Danes!

The room was really good and comfrotable, excellent walk-in shower, the Nespresso machine in the room was really a great surprise. The staff has really a great attention to detail, the breakfast was really good. Also, plenty of parking space and the property is really well kept, with possiblity to chill out in garden.

Both bedroom and bathroom were lovely and spacious, and all the modern appliances made for a very comfortable stay. The plush bed especially made it difficult to get up in the morning!

Room: Well decorated. Lovely spacious shower with good pressure. Large bed as requested. Tea
& Coffee making facilities deeply appreciated with fresh bottle of milk in fridge on landing. Plenty of plug points.
Bed: Large bed as requested. Mattress was softer than the medium-firm we like (but that is a personal preference)
Breakfast: Full English, generous, delicious mushrooms and perfect service from Paula:) All items served at table, so all replenishments on request (juices etc).
Hosts: Warm welcome. Neil was a great help in booking dinner at the Millside Restaurant (lovely meal). great hosts.
Room: Due to size there was no seating in the room. Downstairs parlour by bar was offered. A couple of pouffes /small chairs/stools would be appreciated
Bathroom: A little area to put toiletry bags would be great
