Nothing.
I spent over 90 minutes trying to find this place using google maps, Waze etc. The satnav kept sending me all around a massive circle. I had no signal so couldn’t phone them for help.
Gave up and drove the extra 3 hours home. Really upset.
Lost my money. :-(

The property was convenient for its location for my trip.
Some confusion when checking in as to the room allocated.
The room was very small, facing the road. The double glazing didn’t keep the road noise out.
The room was not cleaned and I was told that this was because of Covid rules. But tea/coffee/sugar/milk and toilet rolls would be left outside room in a bag.
The shower room/toilet was very small with no effective ventilation.
The state of the exterior really needs some attention with windows rotting all across the property.
No evening meals were being provided but guests are permitted to bring takeaway food back into the hotel. Did overhear other guests arriving to their room…and having opened the door stated that it was more of a cell than room! It is evident that the building has been adapted with many rooms one can only think to try and maximise occupancy opportunities.

Bar ok. Room clean but quite basic.
Hotel run down appearance throughout.. No staff, bar man for public use. No food available evening or breakfast! Not aware until ckeck in when we had paid in advance. Pillows like sand bags, used rolled up quilt as bolster pillow. Weather very hot so ok to sleep with just quilt cover..

Owners and staff were lovely from the minute we arrived. Very tired after our long drive from Scotland we were trying to figure out if we could get a large van through the tunnel to the car park. Sandeep came over and assured us it was possible, pointing to a similar sized van already parked there. Sharon at reception was great. Genuinely interested in the reason for our stay and really helpful, despite having hurt her leg and being immobilized our keys were waiting and our breakfast order taken. The hotel is quirky and rooms and corridors involve negotiating lots of narrow sets of stairs, so not really suitable for elderly or disabled. Some rooms overlook the beer garden which can get noisy at weekends, but the double glazing does a great job and most events are over by 10pm. Rooms included towels, two pillows, complimentary tea and coffee, locally made chocolate, bottled water hand soap, shampoo and an shower gel. No hairdryer, but asked at the bar and Sandeep arranged for one to be waiting for me at reception when I returned from my walk which I returned the next day. Next day Lisa the Breakfast Manager cooked us a lovely breakfast and made sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast is an extra £8.50 but includes tea, coffee, juice, cereal, toast and full English (meat or vegetarian) and there was a kids menu as well. They will accommodate requests for things like scrambled egg on toast or filled rolls but we didn't need this. Full English was two slices of bacon, two fried eggs, sausage, mushroom, baked beans and tomato with one round of brown or white toast. You won't leave hungry! The breakfast area is just off the historic panelled reception area and very large and comfortable. Later we returned to our room and met Caroline the housekeeper who kindly gave us extra bottled water for our long drive to Wales and then back to Scotland. Later Lisa helped us check out, return the hairdryer and pay for breakfast and saw us back to the car park.
Bathroom was a bit tired and electric shower took a lot of fiddling as on high it basically spurted scalding water followed by freezing cold water on repeat - we discovered that turning the setting to eco gave consistent temperature but it was a bit lukewarm!

It's quite quaint. It probably could do with a bit more modernising but it would lose its charm in my opinion.
There wasn't much to dislike. I had a good night's stay

Location, nice pub and ambience. , Friendly welcome.
Breakfast was 8.50 extra and sadly the full English was a big disappointment. Warmed up, hard bacon, hard fried eggs and all lukewarm.
