Ideal location straight opposite a pub which served excellent food and dog walking trails more or less straight from front door
Was not able to control when heating was turned on or off only able to adjust radiator valves when owners had turned heating on
4.3
Located opposite a nice pub. Very close to Symonds Yat and Ross on Wye. Clean, well appointed and very good communication from hosts.
Shower a bit cramped, but not an issue. Nice bath
4.3
Very comfortable and compact. Good to have pub just accross the road.
Living space was a little small. But it was very comfortable.
4.3
Very cosy and well maintained with everything we required for a one night stay

Great location. Clean. Welcomed with a lemon drizzle cake!
Slight drawback is that the bathroom is only accessible through the main bedroom which I wasn’t aware of (May have overlooked this)
The sofa bed is quite uncomfortable

The location
Hall way tired looking, pull out bed only suitable to children as not properly working.
Garden which was through the host entrance (not like advertised )had numerous piles of dog poo in , we overlooked this , 🤔, but children trying to dodge it was a little scary !
On departure day the water was turned off 15 minutes before we HAD to leave whilst oldest child still taking a shower ...tried to ring host but to no avail frantactly running around trying to find water to rinse out shampoo..host appears eventually,.. not explaining why the water had been turned off or offering any explanation when being questioned on this just rudely saying " it's only just gone off !"....clearly untrue
I was deeply saddened when trying to communicate with her later in the evening the tone and manner to which she responded ( please look back at the comments where people dare to give a bad review )
The way she has un professionally commented on our personal life says it all...
If a little slice of cake and dead flowers are fantastic service then my expectations have been greatly lowered !!

Fantastic stay 🙏comfy and clean I came with my two Grandkids9and 13 . We had spent the day canoeing symonds
Yat and shopping in Monmouth. Was like home from home . Kids loved the cake . Thanks for all the information on local activities

Thank you for the cake left for us. The owners were away, but had worked very hard to provide most things that were needed.
Stairs totally unsuitable for many people including children, elderly or infirm. No bedlinen for fouton, which was used in a roon that was too small for it.

Very nice place to stay. Kitchen is a wonderful size, living space is lovely and being able to walk in garden with Duster the dog was great. Great pub literally across the road. Footpath just behind the property which I will be doing next time we book. Also Goodrich Castle really close. Great facilities and the property was clean, tidy, really nicely set out and very good facilities.
There wasn't anything we didn't like. It is a wonderful property and could easily stay for more than 1 night (just need to work out sofa bed as don't think we set it out/clicked out fully so husband didn't sleep too well). Plenty of space for 2 adults, 1 child (12) and our Yorkshire Terrier.

we booked the snug at the last minute, we had our dog with us. the accommodation was perfect. location, cleanliness, great value. extremely welcoming, we arrived as when it was dark so didn’t fully appreciate part of the location til the morning. amazing dog walk behind the property, the facilities was great, we regularly travel , this is somewhere we will certainly be returning. would be great for a mini break or business. Even the dog had a dog bed, bowls toys and some treats. Friendly pub opposite.
nothing, was perfect for what we wanted.

It was quite clean well equipped and pub and restaurant 10 steps across the road 😀

Great location and an excellent pub opposite.
The cottage was absolutely freezing when we
arrived so we went out for a drive, the heating was on when we came back about 6pm but went off again around 8pm, by 9pm we were sat under blankets trying to keep warm. Heating was only on for around an hour and a half in the morning and was cold again by 9am. Perhaps some independent heating in the cottage would be a good idea?

A gem of a find, the property was very well equipped. Such a comfortable bed.
The open staircase was a little unexpected and whilst we managed, other people may find them a little tricky.
4.3
Well equipped, pleasant location.
Nothing I can fault really.
4.3
A very comfortable upstairs has a lounge with DVDs, books, board games, and a TV. The bedroom next to that is excellent. There is a washing machine in the kitchen, which helps a lot and you park your car in front.
The location is a bit remote, and there is no railing on the stairs, so you had to be careful. The WiFi was unstable and the hair dryer wasn't easy to use.
4.3
Lovely little cottage, nicely decorated and furnished.
Milk in the fridge, tea and coffee and home made cake on arrival! Very delicious cake!!
The sofa bed was not comfortable. Suitable for small children but not teenagers.
Maybe comfy seating in the kitchen could help as limited seating available once sofa bed erected.

Although the owner did say we could use the garden but it’s communal and the pictures on booking.com are misleading .
My mum has a walking stick and she found the open steep stairs scary !
The TV was too small .

Great location, clean, easy access to the property, good facilities.
Lovely cake on arrival 😋

Very comfortable and tastefully decorated, lots of lovely touches and appreciated the cake left for us and all the lovely products in the bathroom. Bed was very comfortable, heating was lovely and warm. Kitchen is very well appointed, full of good equipment. Couldn't fault the experience.
A few more softer lamps around the kitchen would be nice as overhead lights very strong, otherwise couldn't complain about anything!

Everything you need for a couple of nights away self catering. We were a young family travelling with a 3 month old baby. We took our own travel cot but this was available as was a a high chair if needed. Bed was very comfortable and nice bath/shower facilities. Kitchen had everything you needed even a washing machine. Easy access to local sights by car or by foot. Visited Ross on Wye and had lovely meal in the royal which has a lovely view on the River Wye. Definitely recommend. Parking outside on the main road.

the property was well equipped with everything for a quiet well needed break for me and my girlfriend
lovely hosts
cake on arrival 😀

The snug has a lovely homely feel as soon as you walk in. We have family that have recently moved to the area so it was our first time staying over with our little dog and it certainly won’t be the last.
The pub across the road is lovely and worth a trip over.
Its just off the dual carriageway so really convenient but you cannot hear any noise at all.
Looking forward to our next visit!
There is only on street parking available and it does get busy, quickly.

The space is wonderful, very clean, nicely decorated, comfy bed, amazing bathroom. Also had a marvelous dinner across the street at The Cross Key Inn.
Nothing. Everything was great!

This place is lovely and comfortable in a great location worth every penny.will be going back soon .the only thing we forgot was an iron as there wasn't one at accommodation .but no problem.
Nothing

Very good kitchen, comfy sitting room and bed, friendly owners and beautiful garden. Good location for visiting Goodrich castle and the Wye Valley.
4.3
We were self catering so received no bfast fromm our hosts
THERE WAS NO GRAB HANDLE OR SLIP MAT IN THE BATH. Dangerous. My balance is not good so was unable to have a bath or shower.
The key lock box numbers were tiny and impossible to read. Helpful staff from the pub opposite came over to help -and couldn't. Eventually our host emerged from his house next door and let us in. On leaving again we couldn't work it and had to put the key through the letter box.

Location was great. it was relatively clean and adequate facilities especially the kitchen, for a couple or young family.
Host responded well to all emails. Cake was a good touch and we enjoyed it.
We did have a pleasant stay and are disappointed by the harsh response by the owner for our honest review. There was no harm intended and I think the review we made has not been interpreted in the correct manner at which it was intended. Our experience was perhaps less than others because we area young family and the snug is more catered to couples. Having said that, and on reflection, the location and facilities are decent and provide a good position to relax after a long day in the Wye Valley. We have edited this review as a result however.
the sofa bed was very uncomfortable for an adult
Unclear if the garden was useable - maybe a sign in the kitchen?
It would be better to place a handrail on the stair as a balustrade for safety - for safety of small children.
