Breakfast was great - relatives descended and the staff dealt with it efficiently and with good humour.
Room was a bit small

The location was perfect as I was attending a wedding 5 mins away
The shower filled up the bath below and wouldn’t drain for some time. The tv didn’t work in my room

Everything was super 👌

I don’t know why is referred to as a gastropub as the food was what I would expect in any decent country pub
In some cases food portions should have been bigger

Nice food and good selection of beers etc.
Easy access to A46 & M1.

The Starr inn is a lovely village pub, the room was very good nicely decorated and clean, lovely bathroom with large bat
Needs more plug sockets but you can make do with what’s there
7.0
Clean , conveniently situated. Decent food
Bed a bit uncomfortable . However, a good stay a bit soured by the fact that the breakfast was charged for when the Booking confirmation stated that it was included in the price. I could have argued the toss but wasn’t in the mood. Booking.com or the owner should change the wording on the confirmation.

Friendly , well maintained bathroom was good.
Room was a little small, right around the bed
On the site it detailed breakfast included, on arrival we were told only continental, we needed to pay more for anything cooked. This needs to be clear

my stay was very pleasant and staff was great. I couldn’t have the breakfast as early starts so the staff provided me with pastries cereal and a kind of continental breakfast. The food that I had from there menu was very well presented.
Parking was a little difficult as very small car park to the side, in a very nice location though.

The decor was lovely. The fixtures and fittings were of a high quality and it was obvious that a lot of money had been spent on the property. The younger members of staff were extremely helpful and polite.
The person in charge, on our first evening, was a little brusque and not very welcoming. Our room was small and there was barely room for one chair to sit on. A shower screen would have been preferable to an old-fashioned shower curtain, especially as the fixtures and fittings were of good quality.
The Inn was very, very busy and noisy and our dinner was not a particularly enjoyable experience. Breakfast in the morning was very disappointing. Continental breakfast was included in the price, however, within half-an-hour of commencement the coffee machine had run out, there were no pastries available and there were no cold meats or cheeses on offer. Basically, it was just cereal, bread and jam. The senior member of staff on duty was also quite dismissive. We visited the village shop and found that other guests at the Inn had also not had a good experience either. So not just us.
