What a fantastic place - 5*! The staff were all very friendly, they couldn't do enough to make you feel at home, and they were all super helpful. The safari tents were very luxurious, as good as you would get in a camp ten times the price. There was a lot of attention to detail, large comfy bed, beautiful ensuite with lovely slate decor and decoration. Nothing had been forgotten, numerous attractive lights, desk, a torch, comfy chairs and an outside terrace, and lots of authentic African pictures and decorations. The camp is set in lovely gardens, with water features and waterfalls, all lit up at night. There is a nice swimming pool, which is welcome after a hot safari drive. The dining room has a nice ambience, set within the gardens, and the food was all delicious. It is also only a couple of kilometres from the Meru National Park Gate, so the camp is well situated. We couldn't fault Ikweta Safari Camp, it is fantastic value for money.
Nothing!

Friendly staff and delicious food.
The mosquitoes found their way inside our room and enjoyed several meals. ugh!
Also a portable fan would really be nice inside the room.

The food was very average and you never got to see a menu to choose from and got a blackboard to say it is butternut soup. So what must you say? There is 1 choice.
The packed breakfast and lunch were really disappointing. It was dry and unappitizing. The fruit package was ok.
I know you market yourself as affordable but then dont be skimpy on the food or at least try to be more creative with it.
Our tent was for 2 days without hot water and at last after 2nd day we were shifted to a new tent with hot water.
The food can definitely be upgraded and be more creative and appetising or more choices can be given.
The management must make sure that hot water is not a problem, because it really marred the experience for us.

What a great place to stay! The lodge is outstanding. We liked everything: the staffl were extremly friendly, the tents with the veranda wonderful to stay in, the food was delicious and the pool great to relax after the safari.
Susan and her staff made us feel as we were at home.
If we could give more than 10 points we definitly would!
We stayed at the lodge 3 nights, but with 2 different bookings - and we would have been more than happy, to stay some more nights at this wonderful place :-)!

lovely tents and attentive staff. Food is decent. The pool is nice.
People who don't like cats should be wary. there are a ton of them. We like cats so it was fine but still a bit much. Also one night was noisy from a church nearby.

very well maintained property with cost tents. the pictures really give the true perspective of the camp. the pool! the manager Peter where extremely helpful and arranged for 40 Liters if fuel to help us on our way.
basically nothing. possibly the intermittent hot water but the showers where a joy since it was very hot

We enjoyed all meals and were personalized to our specification. Room service was available for one of us who did not manage to show up at the dining room for breakfast.
The Mango flies - two of us got mango fly infection

Great value for money and right near Meru.National Park entrance. Safari Guide Charles was knowledgeable and we saw amazing wildlife despite it being rainy season with high grass and bush growth that can make it hard to see animals. Food was fresh and delicious. Drinks affordable. Swimming pool was also so refreshing following afternoon safaris!

We did not get the tent we requested.

Great bedrooms, comfy beds, nicely furnished and well presented. Very welcome swimming pool, much needed after driving round Meru park in the heat. Close to the entrance of the park, so easy to go in and out anytime you like. Ikweta was very neat and well kept and you can see the hosts have put a lot of love and effort into the land and design. There are not many places in meru to stay and ikweta has done well to make such an easy getaway at an affordable price and convenient location.
There were a lot dogs in the neighbourhood barking throughout the night, not Ikwetas fault, but it did disturb our sleep each night. I think the food could be improved and the wine needs to be kept in stock and cold, ready for guests.

Luxury accomodation, menu well prepared and a lot of variation, staff friendly and helpful
Lots of cats around which did not look in very good shape (ticks, ..)

Beautifully designed luxury tented camp ideally located near the entrance to one of Kenya’s most alluring national parks. Terrific food, gently attentive service, remarkable value. The manager, Alan, will go the extra mile to make your experience special.
As the camp is in a remote area, the internet is not always reliable.

The Camp met all my expectations from check-in to check out, the staff were extremely helpful especially Allan and Justin, the food was prepared to order and was fresh, the facilities were amazing. The serenity and quietness was a HUGE bonus for me. I was also surprised with a cake by the staff as it was my birthday so that was definitely a plus :-P
The food portions especially lunch could have been a bit more but maybe it could have been due to the reason I had travelled the whole morning and had not eaten a thing by the time I was checking in.

Laudable effort, completely worth it
Nothing to complain about in the least

Good folks, pleasant room, close to park, decent food
Too many cats around. Occasional whiffs in certain places smelled like litter box. But not a lot
