About this house rental

You will love our lakefront Kiwi bach in quiet Otumutu Lagoon and enjoy every moment holidaying at this unique and relaxing place.

Stunning views, a large deck, a fully secure boatshed and safe swimming beach with pontoon are just the beginning. Combine the joys of peaceful lakefront privacy with the benefits of access to the lake and grounds to explore.

Enjoy homemade pizzas in the woodfired oven, use of BBQ comfy beds, Blu Ray player/dvd, freeview TV and small library of books and games.In winter enjoy the cosy fire place including firewood and heaters in all rooms. There's even a professionally built treehouse, great for the kids.
Enjoy the use of kayaks, life jackets, pontoon and cold smoker and decide if you leave your phone on as this is one of a handful of houses that gets full cellphone coverage.

With this bach being one of the last on the lake to see the setting sun, Kiwi holidays don't get any better than this - . You can even bring your dog! (by arrangement only).
Although we can sleep up to 8 adults and 2 kids, please note our lounge area is not huge, Larger groups will not be accepted for your own comfort.
Maximum of 8 Adults.(Max 10 people including Kids)
We only allow a max of 10 people at the property at any given time including day visitors. (ie no group gatherings allowed)

Weddings or going to a wedding at the Black Barn? Our bach is possibly the most further-est away from the Black Barn. Please google locations before making a inquiry to ensure you are happy with the location.

Pets allowed with prior approval ::: Families preferred ::: Maximum of 8 Adults, Max 10 persons on property at any time, incl Visitors ::: Rubbish bags are provided and need to be disposed of at the transfer station at the end of your stay. There is no kerbside rubbish collection ::: No heavy cooking, aromatic cooking , ie curries etc, to respect renters after you (Airing fee may apply) ::: Our property is monitored 24 hours by Lake Security for your piece of mind.

We were a group of two families and just loved the house with its beautiful views and lake access. We had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed making pizzas one evening too. Would love to return for longer.

Great place to explore the lake and Tarawera district and as a base for Rotorua activities whilst avoiding the city vibes. Well appointed and expansive property which kept the kids well engaged with things to do even in Winter.

Such a beautiful spot and direct access to the lake was amazing. Comfortable and homely for our group often five friends. Need to bring all food. Only salt, pepper, vinegar and oil provided.

Had the best holiday, the batch was perfect for our 2 families, kayaks were a massive hit with the kids and the boatshed was super handy for our boat. We loved the pizza oven and a wonderful time was had by all

This isn't your average staycation, it's a place where families are able to catch up and make memories. There are bikes, kayaks, games and DVDs that kept all ages busy. We will return just like many others in the visitors book are doing.

This property is well set up with everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable break. Everything has been thought of down to supplying plenty to do even when the weather isn’t so great. The beds were very comfortable! Plenty of space for the whole family with a great treehouse for the kids. The view from the bach is just magic! The private beach and kayaks are an added bonus. Wonderful outdoor spaces with lovely native gardens. We loved it here and would happily return. Thank you for hospitality.

One of the best places we have stayed. The view and location was outstanding. The use of the boatshed for our boat was fantastic and made using our boat really easy as the boatshed is at the bottom of the garden, fitting our 5m boat in. There was everything we needed and enjoyed the extensive range of DVD's for family movie nights. Who needs wifi? Even with teenages, it was nice to give them a break away from the internet. Will definitely be back to enjoy the piece and quiet.

This is such a stunning spot! Incredible views and serenity. We were two couples and three children, the house is perfect. Super well set up, clean and tidy. Had everything you need and more! Took the kids kayaking, made pizza in the wood fire oven. Highly recommend this place, could not have asked for a better house in a better location! Thank you for a memorable holiday!

We had a lovely stay in this comfortable home. The description of the property was exactly as it was. The view from the deck was stunning, and we loved sitting outside in the morning with a cuppa and our books. The beds were warm and comfortable. The house was clean and tidy. The Bach was perfect for the setting of lake Tarawera. The peacefulness and position of the property, where you can look over the entire lake was splendid. The kids enjoyed exploring and having their own space to sleep, along with the tree house as a clubhouse was a cherry on top for them. Thank you so much.

This Bach at Lake Tarawera was absolutely perfect. The view from the deck is breathtaking and it has all the amenities needed for perfect getaway. The fireplace created a warm front of house and there are space heaters but take warm clothing anyway. Oh one thing to keep in mind shop before you get there for food because there isn’t a store close by even for coffee, tea or milk if you forget those things. Overall that isn’t a deterrent at all - just an amazing place to stay!

Only regret is not staying longer - Had some friends pop in for an afternoon G&T on the massive deck, Kids loved the Boathouse and Kayaking - everyone that has since seen our photos wants to book it now ;)

Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the gorgeous views. Nothing better than sitting on that desk watching the lake and all the native birds in the garden. Swimming in the lake, kayaking and just enjoying the serenity. There are so many beautiful flowers and we were amazed at all the bumblebees! Just feels like a little slice of heaven! We stayed with 6 adults/2 kids under 4yrs who all had a fabulous time. We were down for a wedding at the black barn but didn’t find the drive too bad. The lake access at the bottom of the garden is incredible so nice to go for a swim and a paddle with the kayaks. Would happily stay again! Thank you so much for your hospitality

We had a wonderful weekend. Even with the weather not so great, we had the best time. Paddling on the lake, enjoying the stunning view, board games, pizzas... the place has everything you need and we would love to stay again some time.

Fantastic view over the lake. Late afternoon sun on the front deck. Lots of native bush and birds. Pizza oven. Kayaks. What's not to like? Our dog was in doggie heaven as well
