Castle House Hotel

Hotel was very nice, the double room was large with a comfy sofa to sit & chill out on, room looked out onto the castle. Ensuite was spacious with a decent hot shower Continental breakfast gave enough choice. Staff were very friendly. 5 min walk into town center, railway station is only 5 mins away. Would definitely stay again.

Cool opportunity.

Really great staff and beautiful rooms. Lots of local interesting sites to see.

Make sure you also book a castle tour when you do your reservation.

Quick overnight stay

The location was perfect. Close to the city centre with parking.. Great continental breakfast

The property is obviously old, which meant there was noise from outside, other rooms, and the corridor. The lock on the old/historic door was temperamental. The above would not stop me from staying here again

Useful basic hotel.

The staff were friendly. The breakfast was nicely set out and substantial - though hot cooked food was not available. The room was clean and practical.

The room was rather small.

No issues with Castle House Hotel. Excellent stay.

I arrived 3 hours early but the room was ready. Facing main road but no noise problem. Large room. Five minute walk to central Canterbury. Car park a bonus. Council carparks very expensive with hourly rate to 9pm.

Continental breakfast only.

Well located, friendly staff, good breakfast

Breakfast was rich and equilibrated, with good choices of cereals, nuts, and dry fruits among all usual foods (fresh fruits, ham, cheese, bread, croissants, etc). The staff was very friendly.

We booked a family room. Little did we know about its location (outside of the main building, in the parking lot). If you are not planning to spend a lot of time in the room, that's fine, and it's convenient to unload/load the car. Besides the weird location, the room was lovely, and kids enjoyed the huge bathtub.

if you wish to be central and have Canterbury on your doorstep then this is it

the location was superb and the staff so welcoming and the garden amazing

if I had to say it would be that it’s a bit cramped in the breakfast room

Very comfortable but nothing to eat at breakfast for diabetics as no cooked option.

The bedroom was very comfortable.

A cooked breakfast would have been a nice option. Not a lot to eat if you were diabetic.

The hotel provided a very convenient and comfortable base for a short break in Canterbury.

The room was quiet, overlooked the car park and had a view of the castle across the road. The continental breakfast catered for most tastes and was well replenished. The location was perfect for a stroll into the centre of Canterbury where The Cathedral, theaters a variety of restaurants and the main shopping area are located.

There were no issues to report.

A great hotel and fantastic location.

Great location, lovely spacious room and bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was lovely.

Just a personal preference, the pillows were a little hard and both mornings I woke up with neck ache. My husband on the other hand found them very comfortable.

A great find

Excellent location for all the city has to offer and easy walking from the station. A spacious, comfortable room in a quirky old building, surprisingly quiet by the main road. Staff were welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was a highlight-- continental, but varied and generous. Really good value, too.

Limited parking was not an issue for us as we travelled by train, but it might be for some guests. Very small TV in room, but not a problem for us.

Convenient - we were in transit UK to Switzerland

Parking great for the city and for security it felt better with the castle walls, but it was tight - you need to get there early - some guests could however have parked more reasonably (tightly). Maybe advice could be given by the Front Desk on arrival? Convenience for walking to the city to eat out at in the evening. Nearby Aldi for last minute shopping.

Continental Breakfast was OK, but I believe I have been there on previous occasions and enjoyed a full English? Stairs to some rooms are difficult to negotiate with larger, heavier suitcases.

rooms are in need of modernising. breakfast room was full of dirty tables as seemed only one member of staff working.

great location and easy to find. had an issue with TV not working so they moved us to another great room across the car park which was fantastic. we will definitely be returning.
