The food was good. Large space to dine in. Rooms were big, and the bathroom was lovely. Receptionist, barmen, and young waitress in the evening of our arrival were incredibly lovely and polite.
We arrived early, and there was no water in the building. However, that was eventually resolved by the time we required food. The following morning , we had paid for breakfast for all 3 of us via booking.com but were told by the hotel breakfast waitress that only one was paid for. The waitress was very harshly spoken about it all. Even when I showed her my booking on the phone stating that it was paid, she said it happens all the time and the issue was with booking.com not the hotel, she then printed their copy to show me , her copy showed one breakfast , my phone showed all had breakfast????!!!!!!. I didn't have the energy to continue the discussion, and to be honest, I didn't need the stress before getting on a plane. We ended up paying the additional. As for the rooms, they were clean and tidy, but the walls were paper-thin, and you could hear everything that's going on in the other rooms.

Lovely and clean, both in the restaurant and my room. All the staff I spoke to were friendly, welcoming and helpful! Excellent breakfast both mornings ☺️
Having to leave!

Unable to use Blue light card, room service meant wait and carry to your own room.Order at bar not on phone. Breakfast staff rushed and not helpful needed more staff. A smile would be nice.
Needs a handrail to get up stairs by disabled lift.
good welcome from manager on arrival.
Sorry wrong box used.
Good manager made welcome, busy night for them but seemed in full control.

There was nothing we didn't like.

liked the access from bedroom to garden via patio doors for dogs
staff lovely
beds comfy
the whole place needed a good clean and more attention to detail, our room had tea stains all up the wall, windows covered in cobwebs, a lot of decor needed a refresh

We came with our dog. Ground floor rooms have a french door leading to a perfect garden for dogs. It was fantastic to just open the door and get right out without need to go through the hotel.

The moment we walked in we felt welcomed, We brought our fur child along and she was welcomed just as much as myself and my husband.
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

Good sized room with a very large bed - (two large singles pushed together). Room was nice and quiet as at the rear of the property. The grounds of the hotel were huge and lovely to walk around.
After having paid £10 each, in advance, for breakfast, we were very disappointed that the hot water and coffee served in flasks were not very hot! I asked for a cup of cappuccino coffee from the drinks machine and was told there would be an extra charge! Most of the staff were very pleasant, with the exception of one receptionist, who ignored the guests, until you caught her attention. She was obviously more interested in her phone/computer, than conversing with guests.

The bed was very comfortable.
The lighting in the room was poor.

The room was well and smartly furnished. The radiator heating the room was simple to control for a desired temperature, unlike the system in some other hotels
There is a short flight of stairs leading from Reception, they are quite steep but have no handrail. This is not good for people like myself who have some disability.
I booked a table in the restaurant for 18.00hrs and was seated about that time. The staff did not give the impression of being organised and twenty minutes passed before I received any attention. The food was excellent, pleased to add.

Location
Mould growing around the inside of the window frames.
Restaurant manager ineffective

Room was clean with a comfortable bed
Lack of staff to check in
Only 1 member if staff at breakfast so the place was a mess, food wasn't restocked in the buffet section , the poor lad was run off his feet. The breakfast was ok, beans cold, generally not a nice experience in the restaurant. Can't comment on evening meal as we book to go else where to eat.

Staff friendly in bar and restaurant.
Mattress in bedroom uncomfortable. Room decor rather dated.

The doors opening onto the large garden was perfect for the dog; the pub having a dog friendly area was fantastic meaning we could have breakfast and enjoy evenings in the bar with great food. The staff were fantastic so friendly and helpful
The room could use a refresh around the windows and doors there was some damp around them and in the mornings the windows and doors were covered in condensation and very wet.

First appearance is lovely room
Excrement and urine left in toilet which did not work and stank. As it was midnight when I arrived had no choice but to flush it through with shower hose. Could not find my booking when checked in earlier so eventually just gave me random key. ( It was xmas day) I didn't check on room but went straight back to family gathering. Cobwebs swung about the ceiling and the light fitting was full of dust. This room clearly hadn't been cleaned for some time.
The system noise of the hotel was continuous, how are you meant to sleep with that going on and I heard someone complaining about that.
So all In all with having to find other toilet facilities and giving up waiting for a receptionist in the morning was a very bad experience.

room design and size , price , breakfast , beds , good shower and bath . the fact it’s based next to a dual carriageway worried me , but we didn’t notice it at all.
it was so dark everywhere . all the corridors were low lit and our room had no main ceiling light and it was massively dim. we are only in our 30s so can’t imagine an older person getting on very well. we could barely see to put our key in the door !

beautiful location, great pub, great food and breakfast selections, great interior of room and loved having double doors that opened on to the garden. The hotel part was lovely and quiet and staff were really friendly, helpful and welcoming. We will definitely be returning.
our room smelt a little bit like wet dog. we appreciate that this is a dog friendly hotel but myself and my partner do not have dogs and found the smell a little of putting. That said we would come back as everything else was fantastic.
