Clean, spacious enough for family of 4, and close walking distance from Gora station. A cafe camp was across the street for early morning coffee.
Pricey

Great, tasty, filling breakfast

Good location. Nice staff. The food is excellent.
There was no Wi-Fi in our room. We found dead sects on the balcony. So, the internet connection and the cleanliness.

Staff were nice. Understaffed. Private Hot spring in room was good but needs English instructions for first time visitors.
Rooms are very old and had a musty smell. Facility needs a major renovation. Still uses manual locks so you can lock yourself out if you leave your key in the room. Wifi connection is not good. Could connect at all. Very strict eating schedules. The private tub in room is very old. Was not a good value for the price we paid.

I stayed in a Western room with a large bath. This was wonderful! The room was lovely and big! I enjoyed the different Yukata to chose from to wear at the hotel. There is a footbath at the bar where you can enjoy a free drink - this was lovely! Breakfast was traditional. The public onsen facilities were enjoyable - an inside and outside bath. The front desk staff were very helpful. The room was clean as expected. Great location to take the funicular up and head to Mount Fuji and nearby places. Hakone open air museum only a stop away - definitely worth the trip!
:) would have stayed longer in this place

Very close to Gora station and easy to walk to everything, the public onsen was very nice, free drink with a foot bath was a nice touch, very helpful staff, room was big and the balcony onsen was nice too. Breakfast was amazing.
Price is maybe a bit high, but I think that's normal for this area and you get a free public onsen too, so it's not terrible.

Everything, the hotel was beautiful. Rooms were big, beds were comfortable and the private foot bath and onsen pool were fantastic. The public onsen on site was also really good. The food great and staff helpful and friendly

It is so modern and clean with full amenities. The staff are so helpful. we had to leave early the next day to catch our Shinkansen train, and they accommodated us with a 7am breakfast. It’s a shame we only stayed for a night.

beautiful architecture and view
pricey, but even so it was worth it

Expensive but worth the splurge. We booked the Mountain View room with private onsen for 3 of us, with kaiseki dinner and traditional Japanese breakfast included. You also get to book slots for a private bath for about 45 min, and a free welcome drink at the bar which has a foot onsen. Had a great time, and the food was yummy as well. Loved the yukatas we got to wear. If you’re looking for a ryokan experience and want a bit of luxury, go for the rooms with a private bath at Tensui Saryo!

OK location; close to public transportation
We had booked one of their best rooms with private open air bath, so spending much more money on our 1-night-stay than usual. Bath was OK but the suites A/C kept making very noisy sound. We had the reception have a look at it but there were nothing to do. Instead they just suggested us a regular room to use for sleep - even in another building(?!) - while using this for the open air bath... no compensation, no trying-harder-to-fix-the-problem. It was just too bad..

Every encounter we had with the employees was excellent. They were so accommodating and kind and even gave us a card once they found out my husband and I were celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary this year. The room was spacious, elegant, clean, and had a beautiful view of the mountains. We just wish we had stayed for more than one night!

Traditional Japanese ambience, very enjoyable and unenforced.

The staff were exceptional so friendly and helpful. We loved the Japanese experience-the footbath at the var and dressing in traditional robes.
Bonus was proximity to the railway station.

Also did not answer phone when I called hotel.
Did not inform me that we need to reserve dinner by 430pm. I was unable to have dinner at the hotel that day.

The staff were fantastic and the hotel was wonderful! It was very clean and our room had a beautiful view of the mountain.

Private onsen with a view was lovely.

the outdoor onsen was great and skin was noticeably softer after use. the hotel also provided a free welcome drink as well as free in-room beer/juice/drip coffe and tea. we particularly liked the yukata which added to the Japanese onsen experience. Breakfast was tasty and hearty. 5 mins walk to Gora Station.
some areas need some light refurbishment (wallpaper in ladies onsen was a bit tired and worn).
