When I arrived, the staff gave me a complementary sparkling wine.I really enjoyed speaking with Eru. I think she was very helpful and courteous. The driver who gave me a complementary ride to the bus stop was also great.
Location is a walk from the bus stop.

A little way out of Hakone, but in lovely spot. Nice comfortable bed, pillows a little hard.Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was vey good. Onsen on site for guests to use.

The attention to detail from the moment we checked in. The room was huge with a beautiful view and an outdoor hot tub. The food was amazing.
There was a loud screeching noise in the dining room. You can get there with a bus, but I would recommend using a car as its a long walk from the bus stop (especially if its raining)

The staff was wonderful, very kind and helpful. The food was delicious and of much higher quality than we expected. The amenities offered on site were very nice and enjoyable.
4.1
quiet location and good value, breakfast and dinner were good
no towels in the onsen bath facility
and one of the onsen bath changing area was too small with one sink and one chair

The location is remote to 30mins drive from Hakone. It was a really peaceful place, no kids were staying as it is adult only. Mostly couples staying, we selected to have breakfast and dinner during our stay as there isn't a lot of options available in the area.Food was really good.
The onsen baths that are available for guests staying at there aren't a variety of bath options. We had our own in our room on the balcony.

Could not have loved this place more, it was the highlight of our whole trip. Amazing comfy bed with a lovely view. In the morining I had a relaxing soak in the lovely private bath on my balcony, which was surrounded by trees and birds singing, as the sun came up - absolutley perfect. Lovely traditional breakfast! The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Several of them spoke very good English. We paid to have a kaiseki dinner at the hotel and this was a wonderful experience - amazing food and we had such a lovely evening. Wish we could have stayed at this place for a week!
We were a bit worried before we went that it is a little out of the way so a bit of effort was required to get there via public transport from Tokyo - 2 trains and a local bus - but it was very easy to do the journey using google maps and the journey was part of the fun! And it was ABSOLUTELY worth the effort to get there, this place was just wonderful.

The dinner was phenomenal, the private hot spring in my room was super convenient, and the view of the mountain forest from my room was relaxing.
Checkout at 10 was a bit annoying. If it could've been 11 instead then it would've been perfect.

The location is perfect and quiet.

Staff and food

Quite simply from the very second we entered the property we were excellently attended to.The staff were flexible to explain everything in English and friendly.
Room was quiet and comfortable in every way; mattress, mini-sofa, amenities and bathroom.
Menu was adapted to our allergies in a very creative and delicious way. Usually allergies to seafood are solved in Japan with “here’s some tofu and vegetables”. Not so with Fuga chefs. Every dish was exquisite and the staff amiable. I recently dined at Mandarin Oriental in Tokyo and their Michelin chefs failed creatively when providing alternative dishes compared to Fuga chefs. Outstanding.
Impeccably clean room and public areas; fantastic food and the whole ambience was to leave the guests to enjoy it.
In truth, nothing to improve about the property or service.
Maybe some updated access options on the website. You can catch a Romance Car from Shinjuku to Hakone-Yumoto then a bus which would be easier than going to Odawara then taking a bus. Small point but overseas tourists prefer convenience and luxury.

Lots of space and tasteful design! It was one of the largest rooms I’ve probably stayed in Japan. Comfortable beds, great amenities, chilled water in the fridge and a coffee maker! The highlight was the hinoki (?) bathtub overlooking the garden spacious entrance enough to stretch out legs and relax in hot water. Wish it was hot spring water, too but hot springs are only in the common area.
Dinner was awesome with a great variety of small dishes still quite filling.
For this who wish a chilled beer after onsen there’s a vending machine in the hallway. One day wasn’t enough, would love to come again.
The shower room door wasn’t closing properly and the AC was quite loud at night. Wish the hotel also had a western option for breakfast. Rice for dinner and than rice for breakfast was a bit too much. The quality of food was amazing though.

Food was fantastic staff went the extra mile to make us feel at home.
Beer price to expensive for the size.

The room was beautiful, we had all the privacy we needed. I also liked that they provided a Bluetooth speaker and good Wi-Fi. The breakfast and dinner provided were fantastic.
The opening of the room isn't very well designed - when you keep your shoes there, it's difficult to open the door fully.

The breakfast was amazing and the hotel also gives everyone a yukata to use while they are there. I went with a friend and we did not get a room with an included onsen, but we did enjoy the hotel onsen very much. They even included cute, small bags in the rooms to carry your things to the onsen which was very convenient.
I did not know how to tie the yukata, so it would be very nice if some English instructions were written and left out. Thankfully my friend could teach me, but if foreigners come alone they may not understand either.

The welcome was really nice. First time checking-in at a bar with an offered drink.
Nice lobby with a warm design.
Possibility for men and women to choose their yukata pattern and color.
I took the plan with the dinner and it was a good Japanese-Western fusion course experience.
The bed are comfy.
It's unfortunate but in our room for that specific night we got some bad smell in our bathroom coming from the pipes. It only lasted a couple of hours and it was confined to the bathroom but when you pay for this kind of hotel it kind of broke the experience.
A staff tried to help removing the odor but he was a bit clumsy in doing it.
Although it has been renovated you can realize that it's ultimately an old building. Some parts are properly renovated, some are definitely "old".

This a beautiful ryokan in every sense of the word. The room and grounds are amazing, and the food was spectacular. We had the bath on our deck and it was beautiful. The staff we out of their way to meet all of our wants and needs.. We will definitely return.
One of the onsens was not on a par with the other. An outdoor bath for both would be a nice addition. Perhaps and upgrade might be in order. However, since the hotel alternates male and female access, everyone should have access to the outdoor bath.

I love the room's balcony w/ a hot tub - the garden is well kept. also a nice touch of having a bose bluetooth speaker.
no chair for smoking area in bldg #2. I smoke cigars

Wonderful stay in this hotel ! The open air private bath in the room is wonderful, I needed some time away from Tokyo to relax and it was the perfect place! The room is big and comfortable. All the equipment is modern.
Breakfast and dinner were divine!
I read in some reviews that the staff didn’t speak English but in my case the staff was speaking perfect English and was extremely helpful, and made me feel at home from the beginning!

I loved the warm welcome and calm ambience of the hotel. Meals were served in a very comfortable way for a solo traveller. The relaxing music selection added to a great atmosphere of the place.

One Complimentary drink (alcoholic and non) upon check in. Clean good price for having your private hot springs that conjoined with your shower outside on the porch area of your room. The hot springs was small so only one average size person (not Japanese size person) can go in at a time but it was fine. It was in a quiet area, had parking area but had to walk. Not too far though. Fancy toilet.. typical Japanese standards. The location was out in the woods, winding roads which is what we wanted but not near a 7-11 or anything except other houses nearby.
Food menu wasn’t the best options, Japanese items only and very expensive. We brought our own food. They don’t have phones in your rooms, so they give you a cell phone which is used to call you or you call them. And the cleaning service only comes if you call (using the given phone). The beds are very low to the grown, so if you have bad backs and knees, it’s uncomfortable. In the o other they look higher. No typical chair to sit in, again, if you have bad back, hips, knees ankle, etc, you sit on the bed or a futon chair which is lower than the bed.

Although the location was a bit far from the bus it was worth the trek. Beautiful facilities with kind and welcoming staff. The quality of the course meal was amazing. The private onsen and view from our room was beautiful. My partner and I will come back.
I liked everything.

In room Osen, outside on the balcony with shower on the balcony also!

The dinners were excellent but similar for the 2 nights we were there and some variety would be wonderful.

The location was excellent, the services and staff were wonderful. Food at the restaurant, while expensive was wonderful.
Our room was small, much smaller than the pictures.
