I liked the helpful staff and the delicious breakfast.
The lack of windows and some coming and going courtyard noise.

I LOVED this B&B! The room and courtyard were so charming -- just the details of having fresh flowers and a water jug were lovely. The breakfast was delicious and heartwarming (can a breakfast do that?! yes, it can). The staff was extremely helpful and went above and beyond. As a single, female traveler, I felt very welcomed and safe too. To El Diablo y La Sandia: Thank you so much for your hospitality! You have a beautiful place.

The offered very useful information about where to go and how to get to different destinations even to places not even close to the hotel.
We forgot something in the room and they sent it back to us by mail. Couldn't stay in a better place.

Excellent staff - breakfast was great. One morning we had an early start & they came in an hour early for us!

Absolutely loved our stay here. The staff immediately made us feel welcome, we loved the room and the breakfast was just phenomenal. There was a nice rooftop to enjoy - I spent a jetlagged morning reading my book overlooking the city from up there. Loved the little touches too - an honesty bar, hats and bags to borrow.
Nothing comes to mind!

Amazing breakfast, good location, beautiful place and decoration
The only thing they could improve is the shower.

Friendly and helpful staff.
Only one option for breakfast.

Our stay was amazing! The hotel is super comfortable and clean and all of the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast at the communal table is a great way to start the day! Would definitely come back.

Breakfast was delicious, staff and location were amazing!
Was a little warm during the early hours of the night/late afternoon. They had fans but no AC, but the weather cooled off as the night wenr on and I slept comfortably.

very noisy at night.

El Diablo y la Sandia is a charming B&B with a rooftop area that is well-located and kept very organized and very clean. The reception staff all speak fluent English. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and guests have full access to the kitchen. The breakfast varies every day. The B&B is a short walk from the Zocalo and an even shorter one in all directions to a produce/daily products/restaurants market, restaurants, coffee shops, convenience stores, tourist sites, and bakeries.
There is no 24-hour staffing, there is some traffic noise. and there are too many tipping reminders (boxes, envelopes). While the breakfast menu is creative, it is limited to vegetarian options and is not overly generous in its portions though the guests are never denied something more to eat upon request. The B&B is somewhat more expensive than comparative places in other Mexican tourist areas.

Spacious room and bed, very comfortable. Bathroom was clean, breakfast was very good and staff very helpful
a little expensive compared to other options in the area

amazing breakfast, super friendly and helpful staff, and fun decor. also, friendly travelers in other rooms. good WiFi- was able to work remotely for 5 days with only one crash.
water pressure could be higher- but this is an issue throughout Mexico.

This was one of the best hotels me and my partner have stayed in! The beds were so comfortable, strong wifi, very clean, nice soap, friendly staff and an incredible breakfast is included. It's in the perfect location, walking distance from the centro and very quiet at night. We would absolutely stay here again!

Spacious, clean, very comfortable and tastefully-decorated room. Really nice terrace. Wonderful staff and ever-changing breakfast. Perfect place for our week in Oaxaca.
Due to central location it can be a bit noisy (mainly due to traffic).
4.5
The staff and the breakfast.
The decor was a bit “tired”.
4.5
Good location, friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast.
Price: this is charming, well-run hostel-style accommodation but priced like a hotel.

The stay was amazing, the property is very nice, the staff is really friendly and the food is great.

A unique hotel with lovely staff, breakfast. Felt like a home away from home!
4.5
It was a small, authentic property with few guests
Rooms where very clean
Breakfast was prepared every morning in the court yeard and was good
Not so much natural light in the room
The rooms where quite basic, even though it had everything we needed
Price is high for what you get

Beautiful bnb, with confortable rooms in a great location.
The staff were so kind and helpful.
The breakfast was delicious and changed every day, with only local dishes and produce.
A real special place to stay in the city

Very cozy! loved the concept of community table breakfast - we got to chat to another guests staying in the hotel. Great location! special thanks for extra blankets - much needed on cold december nights
Everything was good! was happy to find hair dryer. Wouldn't mind hair conditioner, but that's minor

very clean, helpful staff and breakfast everyday is a highlight
some noise from the street
water pressure very low

The hotel is super cute, especially the main courtyard where you get served your breakfast. Breakfast is homemade and delicious with plenty of vegan options which was perfect for me. The room itself was a decent size with a massive comfortable bed. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Fernando who helped us book a Temezcal and restaurant. He replied to all my messages before our stay very quickly. Laundry is incredibly cheap and efficient. I can't recommend this place more!
The water in the shower was a little cold but this was a general issue in Mexico for us. Nothing else to report!

Staff could not be nicer.
Minutes (very safe) walk from the centre of a very nice city.
Lovely and distinct rooms.
Lovely breakfast.
Good value.
Nothing that I can recall but this is my second time reviewing and long after the event as b.com inserts a ridiculous survey request just as you final-submit meaning that I lost dozens of these and had to re-do.
4.5
Excellent B&B - staff super friendly and helpful, included breakfasts were very tasty, rooftop terrace/lounge was a nice break from all the walking, rooms very quiet.

This was an exceptional stay. Everything from the warm check-in to the incredible breakfasts made this one of the most memorable b&b stays we've had. The premises is small, but impeccably managed with very nice artsy pieces, flowers and a beautiful common area. The owner also pushed for more responsible environmental strategies to lower resource use, which is always a very pleasant experience.
Another nice aspect was the honesty bar and cafe which is available 24 hours should you want to stay in and enjoy the place. Overall this was a great stay and rhe staff show enormous pride in providing a really great service to their guests.
Wifi was good, however spotty at times. It took a while to find the best areas for connecting.
4.5
Breakfast was delicious and staff super flexible, she even taught us how to cook nopales for breakfast. They upgraded us to a better room since noone else was occupying it, upstairs room highly recommended.. Lots of character, great coffee and a lovely terrace with hammock.. Our kind of digs, would stay again for sure!
No complaints whatsoever.

The design and decoration of the hotel are stylish and colourfully quirky.
The staff are quite excellent and very knowledgeable of both the city and surrounding areas.
The rooms are tranquil, spacious and cool, set around the central courtyard and open kitchen which are great places to meet other travellers.
The roof terrace affords fantastic views of the mountains and is a wonderful place to relax with a book.
This will be my go-to place to stay in Oaxaca in the future!
It was all perfect, nothing to fault!

This place was an incredibly charming bnb with lovely, personal, decorative touches throughout and the friendliest most accommodating staff. The location is great as well as it is positioned close to two must try food vendors of tacos and tlayudas. Breakfast was great and changed every morning.
