They cabin had ampule space and everything we needed. The theater room was the icing on the cake! The Customer service was amazing!! We had one small issue that was taken care within 30 minutes of notifying them. Also my son left behind a belonging and they went above and beyond to get it back to him.

This house was great for our two families.

Nice home. Lights a little on the dim side. The projector screen directions need updating. Some of the remotes are not the same as those in the instructions. Could not get it to work. Did not use the jacuzzi. If you are going to advertise a jacuzzi, it should be included in the overall price. We had 4 adult couples and we had a very good time.

Our family group (2 couples & two teens) loved staying at Blowing Rock Retreat this past weekend.
The view was even more beautiful than the pictures, and we spent so many wonderful hours enjoying the covered back deck (even in the rain!).
The house was ideal since each couple and the teens had their own floor (& separate A/C). The pool table was a big hit, and we had fun watching shows on the big screen downstairs.
The kitchen was perfect for making home-cooked meals (with the exception of dull knives - typical for vacation rentals). And the kitchen table hosted many lively discussions and lots of laughter.
We all found the beds to be comfortable, and our niece & nephew particularly enjoyed the bunk room.
There were a few maintenance issues (sinks not draining properly, door lock not working, etc.), but Carolina Cabin Rental came the same day. Their maintenance person was friendly and quickly took care of the issues. We also found the phone reps for Carolina Cabin Rentals to be helpful as well.
The only downside to the property (4 stars vs 5 stars) was the state of the walls and some of the furniture (owner issues). Many of the walls were scratched, wallpaper in the upstairs hall bathroom was falling off, a deck chair had a broken seat, etc.
None of the above kept us from having a wonderful time - it just felt "tired" compared to the caliber of the location & view.
We truly loved our stay & we're hoping to return next year & make even more memories!

The house was great for our trip to Blowing Rock. Excellent location for hiking trails as well as downtown visits.

Great place to stay with the family and beautiful views.

The house was absolutely perfect for our family of 6. Had everything for all age ranges from pool table to movie theater and the views are just breathtaking. We all had plenty of space to find peace from one another and we all enjoyed gathering around the fireplace at night to enjoy one another. The hot tub on the lower deck was a great way to cap off the day. The location was perfect, close to Blowing Rock, Boone, Seven Devils, Banner Elk. Will definitely be back soon!!!

Wonderful Cabin
We rented this cabin for our extended family vacation. The location of the cabin was perfect for experiencing everything that the High Country has to offer. There was plenty of space for the 9 of us to spread out and not be on top of each other. One frustration is that for a cabin that can sleep 10, there wasn't enough seating for everyone around the kitchen table. That led us to finding extra chairs or some people sitting other places for meals. The projector downstairs was also broken when we arrived and wasn't able to be fixed until mid-week. However, the communication about that was great.
My only other big frustration came about a week prior to our vacation when I received a call from someone at Carolina Cabin Rentals. Apparently the Vrbo listing and the one on the actual company website don't match. On the website it states that you can only have 2 cars at the cabin, it didn't state this anywhere on the Vrbo listing. We had families coming from 3 different places and had planned on bringing 3 cars. The woman who called about this, seemed to be frustrated with me not knowing that there was a 2 car policy. She asked if I had checked the website and I told her that I had only looked at Vrbo because I assumed it had all the information I needed. She then told me that she didn't know what was on that listing. She did offer for us to park a car at the rental office that was 30 minutes away. I wish the listing on Vrbo had been correct, because that's something we would have taken into account when making our decision. I also felt that the customer service lacked some when I was called about an issue I wasn't aware of and didn't feel like was something I had created.
You can't ask for a better location than this cabin. The deck was great to have coffee on each morning. Overall we had a great week!

This home was perfect for our two families of five. The view was spectacular, especially the sunsets. There is a big yard behind the house that is surrounded by trees so the kids could play whiffle ball, etc. The hot tub was perfect and was used daily. We had a fire and hung out by the fire pit. The kitchen has all the amenities you can think of. The kids used the pool table and watched movies on the big screen. I can't say enough good things about this house!

Mountain Getaway...Needs Some Updating
We chose this cabin for a joint spring break getaway with our two kids (6,1) and our friends and their children (7, 3 yo twins). Overall the stay was ok, but this cabin unfortunately needs some major upgrades specifically on amenities we chose this property based on them being part of the cabin experience.
We were planning to grill out the first night and had all of the food purchased, but unfortunately the grill was broken. It’s very old and only one part lit and barely. We called the property managers and they sent someone out the next day, but they were unable to fix it. The tech even said, this grill is basically done for...they need a new one. Next up, the projector downstairs, which we were hoping to use for a movie night was broken. Again someone came out and fixed it, but it’s so old the projection and quality was very poor, so it was useless. The freezer also stopped working and our cold food spoiled. Finally, the hot tub was not working properly and again someone had to come out to fix it.
I definitely feel like there is a bit of false advertising because the photos show a much more pristine cabin with great amenities, but that’s not the reality. It needs some updating and love.
The other note if you have kids, the bunk bed room is in the basement away from the other rooms, so that was not useful to us since we have little kids who were scared to sleep alone in the basement. If you have older kids/teens, then it would be a great set up,
In terms of pros, the views were gorgeous. The master bedroom upstairs has a beautiful balcony with a swing where we drank coffee in the mornings. We also enjoyed the fire pit downstairs.
The walls are very insulated, which is great for privacy and when traveling with a group. The area has a lot of great activities, skiing, hiking, family fun. We will definitely be returning to Blowing Rock.

Amazing views and a great location
We really enjoyed our weekend in this beautiful home. The location is perfect if you want to spend some time in Blowing Rock too. We did need some help with operating the hot tub and movie screen (it was a little confusing) but the maintenance man that talked us through what to do was very helpful and got us up and running!

Great Mountain View and Cozy Home
We really enjoyed our stay here. The property management was very helpful and responsive. We had a couple of issues with things not working in the house including the hot tub. This was disappointing as it’s one of the main attractions to a mountain house. Overall we loved our stay just wished we could have used the hot tub.

Needed better cleaning and electric issues with hot tub
Was not cleaned to expectations and hot tub was throwing breaker switch.

Pros: The view of Grandfather Mountain from the cabin is absolutely stunning. The house has a very cozy feel. I loved that each of the bedrooms had a bathroom. My family and I enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. The furniture is very comfortable. The fireplace was very nice. The big screen was a hit with my kids. The hot tub was very relaxing.
Cons: There were only a few things I would recommend be improved: fix the latch to the balcony on the main floor that is broken, touch up all of the paint and missing parts of fixtures (for the price we paid I feel that everything should be in perfect condition), fix the grill as my husband had to go and buy a lighter because the grill would. not start, and ensure the cleaning crew checks every part of the cabin because there was a beer can that was being used as an ashtray left on the balcony.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this cabin and would love to stay there again.

Fabulous mountain getaway
We loved the house. Amazing location and views. Common areas are beautiful and well appointed. Kitchen had all we needed for meal prep. Amazing big screen theater TV made movie watching an event. My only constructive feedback is that there were cleanliness details that should have been better. Examples: we opened the sleeper sofa and it was full of crumbs. Placemats and oven mitts should be washed in between rentals. Light bulbs should be checked to see that all are replaced. Some dim rooms! Still - I would overall recommend this home. We had a wonderful stay.

Women's Retreat
The house is lovely. Great view! Multiple decks, hot tub, and fire pit were wonderful and got much use. Loved home theater and pool table as well. Home layout is great and furnishings are comfortable, although dated. We had a wonderful time there! Improvements which would make this an outstanding "5" include:
1) More flatware. House is rated for 10. We had 9 women in the house for meals although only 7 sleeping there. There was not nearly enough flatware, especially table knives.
2) There was also a lack of any type of paring knife.
3) The dishwasher door seems to be on its last leg and we were worried that it might fall off when we pulled out the bottom rack;
4) The refrigerator icemaker was not adequate. While we were gone most of each day and not using the ice, the icemaker was still unable to keep up.
5) Lighting is dim, even with the dimmer/brightener switches.
6) Cleaning was not great...clearly not done under furniture on a regular basis. The house needs a deep cleaning...maybe once a month?
7) More folding chairs would be helpful for dining, as there are not sufficient chairs to seat the number which the house is supposed to be able to accommodate.
8) Towel racks in king bedroom bath and downstairs bath are inadequate. Not sure about other baths.
9) Front steps are slippery in the rain.
10) Soap dispensers in baths were not filled, if that was the intention. Would be helpful in this time of COVID.

Great memories
Everything was wonderful, but if you want to know the picky points, we wish there had been a garbage disposal, that the projection system had worked (light bulb blew out), and a few more towels. Also, cable TV would have been nice for us old folks. Great time had by all. Thank you.

Beautiful Cabin
This is a lovely cabin with beautiful views and a great location close to downtown Blowing Rock and dozens of hiking trails. Everything is spacious and comfortable.
One minor issue - the main floor master bath toilet has no handle. You have to lift the tank lid to flush it. Also the drawer next to the fridge in the kitchen has a loose handle that I kept screwing back on.

Great getaway
The perfect mountain house for a group to relax and enjoy time together.

The home was well equipped and had all the amenities you could ask for. If you have a large family and children that require special care this place was great. There were not a lot of fragile items everywhere. The house was easy to navigate with plenary of bathrooms. The basement was perfect for kids. The porches were safe and sturdy to keep kids safe as well. Can’t say enough how great this place was

I would recommend a tankless hot water heater be installed. It is hard to have a cold shower in the cold temperatures and a home that sleeps as many as this only leads to cold showers when the hot water heater eventually runs out. Also, I would update the refrigerator. As much as I love ice cube trays (and the nostalgia from my childhood), it is nice to have an ice dispenser for drinks. Only other issue is that the driveway is really tight and was hard to get my SUV down and get the doors open (but not much that can be done about that). Overall, these were/are rather minor issues to consider and we really enjoyed our time at the house and would recommend it to others looking for a nice getaway in Blowing Rock.

We loved this house, the layout, the amenities, proximity to hiking trails and Blowing Rock! Wonderful trip for our family of 7 adults and 3 children.

Great stay! We really enjoyed the property and will definitely consider it again for future visits to Blowing Rock.
A few items that may want to get checked out:
1. Front lights on front steps and driveway were not working (made it difficult to navigate at night)
2. Kitchen sink was leaky (leak surfaced on our last day)
3. TV in the upstairs bedroom with the balcony did not have a signal. The light in the closet of this room flickered.
4. The fridge had a very bad smell when we checked in. We left a box of baking soda inside.
Please do not interpret this list as criticisms, just pointing out items as we understand it's difficult to know of all issues in a rental property. We truly enjoyed our stay - huge thanks to the owners for sharing their lovely space!
Best regards,
Jacque

Was so beautiful. We had a lighting issue in the kitchen and a repair/service man came within 30 minutes and solved our problem. Also he ask if anything else he could assist us in. Will stay here again.

We loved the cabin and it met our needs perfectly! The kitchen was stocked very well. We did have a few suggestions that may help other renters.
1. The email directions said Mistletoe was .04 miles from Blowing Rock, it's actually 4.0 miles.
2. Need to replace the bulb over the stove/oven. It's out.
3. Need to replace or clean the Keurig filter. Stuff was floating around in there.
4. Dust/clean ceiling in kitchen over stove/microwave.
5. The ice worked on the refrigerator door but the water didn't. Don't know if that was on purpose or not.
6. Binoculars would be nice for guest.
7. It would also be nice to have a topographical map of the view printed on a piece of paper somewhere. We couldn't figure out what we were looking at because we didn't have time to go on parkway. Gorgeous view!
8. Thanks for the puzzles and the note that two pieces were missing! We completed one while we were there.
9. Very informative emails prior to trip too!

Cabin nice: clean, nice setting, and accommodated our family sufficiently. Very spacious. Beautiful scenery.
Issues:
-there were dirty dishes in washer.
-only 4 coffee mugs
-allocation of towels and wash clothes insufficient. There was 1 towel and 1 wash cloth per quest.
- could not find tie-downs for trash cans. First morning aninmal (s) had gotten into trash and we cleaned up a huge mess. We used our tie-downs to secure cans and tied both cans to the porch columns. That proveed sufficient for the remainder of the week.
- Keurig coffee maker malfunctioned. Needs to be replaced. We came with pods expecting it to work.
Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and would consider renting it again for our next trip to BR.
Thanks,

The Blowing Rock Retreat was absolutely wonderful and I wish I was still there. We enjoyed
All the amenities this home offered. Loved watching the Panther game on the projection screen downstairs on Sunday . So nice being just a short drive to Blowing Rock. The home was very clean. I hope to go back again . Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful home.

Great house, great view, furnishings were outstanding. The fire pit was the real game changer, what a great way to view the stars. Short drive to Blowing Rock a real bonus. For couples, only bunk beds in fourth bedroom was not ideal but they slept on the bottom bunks OK. The one item that could be improved was we could only find six coffee mugs. For eight adults, we really needed eight cups. Downstairs media room viewing instructions confusing, hard to pull up regular TV - we wanted to watch football game. One of our guests is very tech savvy and he finally got it working but it took awhile. Those were minor issues. We would definitely stay there again.

Attention to detail
We absolutely loved the house. Already planning our return

Nice house
Stayed here with 6 adults, 2 year old & 1 year old. Layout was difficult for us because 4th bedroom with twin beds is on lower level & too far away to but port-a-crib(s). We ended up putting one crib in a closet and one in bedroom! Basement is very nice with pool table & movie screen/projector ! Would be fabulous set up for families to other preteens & older children. House has everything you'll need in Kitchen. Great view and located 10 min from downtown Blowing Rock & only 15-20 min from Tweetsie.
