Helpful host

Tony was very helpful when we arrived on Friday night, even though we were expecting just to check in by ourselves. Room was comfortable and spacious.

Convenient location for our visit to an event at the University. Facilities and check in good.

I had a very quiet relaxing stressfree two days.

Didn't take breakfast. The place is a bit far from shops, malls etc and i didn't find restaurants nearby.

Nothing really bad about the hotel itself just where it is situated but if you want quietness it is an ideal location.

Disappointing

The carpet between the bedroom and bathroom was coming up and was fraed. The heating was not working in the room, and the heating what was there wasn't enough for the size of the room.

We had a fun time and the property was only 10-15 min from the City.

My Wife and I found that the property was comfy and clean and our room was ideal for what we needed. We went to York on our Anniversary to see the City and it historical sights and neither the guest house or the City itself disappointed, All in all our stay was an excellent one and would like to thank Tony for our stay.

I can not say that their was anything that we didn't like, it suited our needs and was a pleasant stay.

Enjoyable stay for our first time in York. Great location, but poor WiFi.

Very good location and parking. We slept well and the room was spacious and comfortable. Bonus points for the swan towels!

The WiFi reliability needed to be better considering the 3G/ 4G signal was poor. This also affected video streaming services. The aerial signal was unreliable to be able to watch TV.

Very good

We liked the location. The room was well priced for the proximity to the city. It suited us to not have access to food on site. Great communication from Tony.

Thin ceiling/floor. The occupants above us where noisy when moving about in their room. Not keen on the sink being outside the bathroom.

Easy to book in, room not great, overpriced

The Bed (although a double) was super comfy for 1 person. Once the 1st hurdle of checking in (not due to YO10, more to do with booking.com) was overcome, Super easy! 100% for getting into the property.

There was no hot water, the toilet wasn't clean (an actual poo in the toilet) then the toilet holder fell off the wall with just a touch! The shower was not worth getting into, due to water pressure. Noisy neighbours. The light in the hallway was so very bright all night, had to put a towel to block out the light

On the whole enjoyable stay

Location is ok, but would potentially need to use Bus or Taxi if you don't like walking

Shower Head and Hose was a potential legionella risk, didn't look like it had been cleaned for a few years

Tony was an excellent host! Wasn’t too bad of a walk to the town centre but not nice walking back when dark on the main road. Having the free parking was a huge advantage. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and comfortable and would definitely book again. Thank you for a very pleasant stay!

The bathroom could do with updating and the carpet taken out. The shower had certainly seen better days but worked amazingly well considering it’s age.

fantastic!

fantastic - very spacious, cosy and had a homely feel to it. whilst a bit dated given the money, location and overall experience this place is an amazing find. the host even let us use the car park for the rest of the day so we could explore more if York! would highly recommend.

Great location for quick access to the city, free off road parking provided. Local pubs and shops.

Fantastic location. A few minutes walk to the bus stop, buses running regularly to the city centre. Details of the local pubs was fantastic and can highly recommend a trip to the Plough foods and atmosphere were fantastic. Remote check in - worked great.

Good instructions for check in, communicated well. Plenty tea and coffee available. Very clean, good room size.
