The bathroom floor was not cleaned

Very accessible location with lots of bus links into the city centre and local shops. Quiet neighbourhood. A lovely house with spacious rooms, good kitchen.
Lack of care to the property and guests.
(1) Insufficient kitchen facilities: There were only 7 knives, 3 forks, 5 spoons and a few teaspoons depsite the place being advertised for 8. Only 6 chairs, one with broken back and one unstable foldable chair. There was nothing for cooking even salt and pepper. However, there were some leftover items such as a tea bag box, cereal bar boxes in cupboards that may have been there for a long time. No kitchen roll, cling film or other essential items. It was particularly disappointing as the kitchen itself is nicely presented but thre was virtually no feeling of welcome for use.
(2) Broken dryer: It didn't spin at all. We used the drying function on the laundry machine but the clothes came out with mouldy smell. Both machines showed signs of no maintenance.
(3) Incomplete cleaning: On arrival, there were dirty cutlery and a oven try in the dishwasher, three soiled towels hanging in the bathroom, and a dirty bath mat in the laundry. It clearly indicates that not enough attention was taken to check the property whilst cleaning.
(4) Decent shower and a leaking toilet: Hot water was constant, which was brilliant. Shower was small but okay. It wouldn't be enought if there were 8 guests. The toilet seat upsatirs was not properly screwed in and it kept moving. The toilet downstairs was constantly dripping water inside the tank. There were 2 hair dryers, one broken. Another sing of lack of maitenance.
(5) Terrible customer service: We had a small issue with check out and the agency charged substantial amount from the deposit and refused to engage.
(6) No parking anywhere in Summertown area: We ended up parking at park & ride.

we weren’t able to stay as the property hadn’t been cleaned from previous guests.
My son and I arrived at around 9pm for a 2 night weekend stay to discover that the house hadn’t been cleaned from previous guests! All of the bedrooms were a mess - dirty bedding strewn over beds, rubbish from last occupants, dirty bathroom, dirty glasses left in sink downstairs and dirty, crumpled up duvet left on sofa in living room. Spoke to property agents on phone and they asked for photos which I then took and sent to them. They weren’t able to find us anywhere else to stay within the area we needed (ie Oxford) so I spent the next hour trying to find somewhere else before we could leave. We were promised full refund but disappointed the following day to hear that they planned to retain £75! After speaking to Booking.com customer services the property owners then eventually agreed full refund. Can’t believe this was even an issue, given that we stayed only an hour and we’re put to considerable inconvenience and anxiety trying to find somewhere else to stay.
Lack of parking was a significant problem.

beds are comfortable, cozy living room, kitchen is big (wife’s a culinary student and found the kitchen equipped with the basics to prepare meals) and the piano is a plus ( singing at night after dinner).
the squicky floor but not the first house we stayed at in uk with squicky floor.

The property has plenty of space. The arrangement with two double beds in one room is a little unique, but in the end it worked out fine.
The place was nicely decorated and was comfortable to stay in. The garden was also lovely in the warm weather.
A great property for a big group coming to Oxford. It’s not far from a bus stop that takes you straight into Oxford city centre.
The property states that it is for 8 people, but there are a few issues with this. There are only 6 chairs for the dining table. If you want to eat with eight people you need to use the piano stool and a stool from upstairs in one of the bedrooms. This doesn’t quite make sense given the number of beds and how the property is advertised. There was plenty of cupboard space, so perhaps a few fold up chairs in there could do the job.
In the kitchen, the left oven doesn’t work. There didn’t seem to be any notice of this or any instructions on how to use this or any of the other devices. The kitchen does have some utensils and cutlery, although it’s a little stingy given the house is designed for 8 people and that there is clearly sufficient cupboard space. Some more plates, mugs, bowls and utensils might make the place feel more welcoming. These were minor issues which didn’t ruin the experience.
