About this house rental
This romantic little cottage is one of the last of its kind. Built on stilts on the edge of the sea wall, the tide literally comes up underneath the cottage. At high tide you can hear the lapping of the gentle waves against the pilings. Access to the house is easy. The driveway leads right up to the cottage with parking for one vehicle underneath.
The view from Cove Cottage is what makes it the treasure that it is. From anywhere in the cottage with its many windows one can see the Sea. To the right is the beach maintained by the City. Also here is the city park. Then across the water is the nearby Dock Street with its many restaurants and shops and the boat ramps. Then there is the open Gulf of Mexico with Atsena Otie island not far from shore.
Guests at Cove Cottage have commented that staying in the Cottage is like staying on a houseboat. At high tide you've water on three sides of the house.
The front deck faces the Gulf and has comfortable seating for four and is a favorite place for watching the fishing boats, clammers boats, kayakers and tour boats coming and going throughout the day.
Well equipped and move in ready. Cove has a full kitchen, full bath with shower, private bedroom with a queen size bed. Spacious living room with comfortable seating and a waterfront dining area. There is also a murphy bed with a queen size mattress for extra sleeping room.
Yes we have wi-fi. Yes we have two tv's and Direct TV. Yes we allow ONE small dog under 20 lbs for a $50 fee. We offer use of one kayak, paddles and associated PFDs. There is also a hose and a fish cleaning sink/table under the house.
In a world of cookie cutter accommodations, the Cove Cottage is a unique experience from which memories are made.

Nice property. Private. Just right for two. Great location.

Warm welcoming town. Great view of Gulf waters. Lots of dolphin and tons of birds! Nice two night get away

Nothing to complain about very comfortable. Parking at the cottage can be tricky but manageable. We would definitely stay there again. Bring your binoculars we so wish we had.

Lovely serene views, cute beach house. Awesome location. Overall very relaxing stay. Constructive criticism, 1 washcloth, 0 trash bags, rug in bedroom removed (stinky) floors need scrubbing. Thank you though, otherwise perfect.

This is a wonderful house! The house is good for a couple or two adults and two kids. It is very clean and has all the amenities you could want. The water view is beautiful. Great for bird watching.

Peaceful and beautiful place to hide for a couple of days. Disappointed that most silverware and plates were stored dirty. Couldn't find additional towels because they were dry inside the washer (we were there to relax, not to fold towels or clean kitchen). Surprised that an envelope was placed asking for tips (first time seeing that on any of the properties we have stayed). We were asked to take trash out but not outside trash cans. After 2 weeks, we are still waiting for management to answer were to take the trash. Communication and cleanliness are major factors to work with!

We had an issue and McCormick's was great at fixing the situation.

We had a great experience. A couple of minor concerns but the Mgt company handeled immediately. The views are awesome it is a peaceful experience. The town is very nice we will be back

Beautiful cottage, view. Perfect setting. Only problem that I see was parking and getting in and out.

Very nice! Lovely house. Will have to come back when the weather is better! 🌧️

The view from the house is amazing. You can watch dolphins everyday from living room. It is walking distance to Dock Street, beach, and playground. Bed was comfy (never used the Murphy bed), kitchen was well stocked, and the shower was hot. The town doesn't have a grocery store open yet (Dec 5,2023) so bring supplies. Plenty of restraunts near by also. Will stay here again!

Loved the privacy of this property. Love the easy check in
Property was in good shape with great view of ocean when the tide is in. Pretty beach decorations in house
The one thing that needs attention is the wood deck needs some repair. It has some soft wood with possibility of an accent

Excellent 270 degree views in a very central yet quiet location. Comfortable bed. Good value for the $$ for a standalone home. A little tricky to find for the first time but property manager is easy to reach and very supportive, so don’t hesitate to give them a call if you have any issues.

Perfect spot to enjoy all that Cedar Key has to offer. Easy walking access to everything in town and kayaks on the property to enjoy the gulf.

Great views from cottage. We watched the dolphins from the deck or from big front windows while sitting on the couch every day. Also had a view of the beach, Dock street where the restaurants are and sunrise from our deck or bedroom window. Very comfy. Very private because it is free standing. Can walk easily to Dock Street. The complementary kayaks were a highlight of our trip because we went out every day and paddled up to the dolphins. Easy keyless check in. The cottage had everything we needed. It was clean and cute. We will definitely book this place when we come back. Best birthday weekend!

Quaint, clean and comfortable! Everything you could need and beautiful views. We will definitely be coming back.

Perfect location right near everything, and best part, no shared walls! Beautiful views, we watched the dolphins play from the couch. This home had everything we needed for a quick family getaway!

My husband brought our 10 year old son to Cedar Key to explore a new area of Florida and do some fishing. They loved the property- full of nature and tidal changes! Conveniently located- they were able to walk to restaurants and shops and the fishing charters left close by- within walking distance! They had fun kayaking and plan to go back!

We stay in Cedar Key every June for a family reunion. This cottage was the best place for us. My son fished from the balcony, plenty of room for everyone including family that stopped to chat, and the view was perfect. I wish there was covered seating outside or that the sliding doors across the front opened so I could have enjoyed the view while it was raining.

Communication was great and properly was everything we wanted. Cute little getaway.

This is one of the best places that we have stayed in!!! We love this property. Perfect size for my husband myself and our little dog. Short walk to restaurants, shops and beach. People are so friendly. Had a wonderful time. Hope to rent it again. Management was very kind and helpful.

This was a great house for our family trip to Cedar Key! Would book there again in a heartbeat!

The views, we’re the best part of our stay, and we were located just around the corner from restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping!! We had all of the amenities you would need for your stay, even though we went out for dinner each night.

It was a really quaint place with the best view from the livingroom. Watching dolphins and fish play. I recommend this place for a nice getaway. I didn't use kayaks but maybe next time.

Sweet little cottage overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Beds and living room seating was comfortable and views were amazing. Good privacy despite the cottage being nestled between two condo buildings.

Great rental on the Gulf with a good view. Everything is within walking restaurants and groceries) but there is cart rentals available. Property management is very easy to work with and communication is one of the best I have dealt with, will definitely be a repeat customer.

This was a fantastic place to stay, location is great! Perfect for families with small children conveniently located close to park, beach, and very quaint downtown.

We had a great weekend in Cedar Key. The cottage is very nice and clean. Its a little bit of a walk to the shops and restaurants. I would recommend renting a golf cart from MIlt to get around the island.

Close to everything. Clean and well managed.

My husband and I spent two nights at this property. We had never been to Cedar Key before so we reluctantly left the wrap around deck with fantastic views to explore the island. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Cove Cottage and Cedar Key. I highly recommend.

Property was great

We’ve admired this property while in Cedar Key on multiple occasions, and were so pleased that it was available for our anniversary visit! The weather was cold and windy but sunny, so we were still able to walk and take the golf cart out exploring. We highly recommend this gem!

We truly enjoyed our stay at Cove Cottage. The views of the Gulf were outstanding. It was quiet, yet in walking distance to all the downtown restaurants and businesses, and right next to the park and beach. The cottage was spotless. Loved the beachy decor. It was extremely comfortable and surprisingly roomy. Really nice kitchen – everything updated except the dishwasher, which we didn’t use anyway. I worked in the dining room looking out onto the Gulf. And when it was warm enough I went out on the wraparound deck and worked out there. The bed was comfy. Once we figured out how the fans and the mini splits and all the lighting worked – everything was good. The only issue was there is no real closet to hang your clothing. The bedroom closet was full of tools, cleaning supplies, old paint cans. No rod space to hang your clothes. There is a chest of drawers for clothes to be folded. And if you have an issue with steps don’t stay here – there’s a steep staircase to navigate into and out of the house. Bottom line – I would highly recommend this beautiful cottage because it’s a great location, very comfortable, very clean. We can’t wait to go back to Cedar Key!

There is plenty to do here. The food was amazing everywhere we went, and it was a cool little town to explore. Communication with the host was amazing! My only complaint, which has nothing to do with the host/realty company we rented the unit from, would be parking. The neighboring condos are WAY too close to where you park at the cottage. We had to ask several times for the people to move their cars because they block you in. So we had to park in the grass lot across from the cottage the night before we left to ensure we weren’t stuck. Definitely keep that in mind when you book your stay. Also you may not get reception. There was no Wi-Fi either. Just a heads up!

Great location, easy walking to park and small beach, great view from main room.
However, small issues detracted: microwave partially operative, convection oven inoperative though bake and broil work, bathroom needs workable heater (one found in closet wouldn't work), only closet in bedroom crammed with maintenance/cleaning items (lamp parts, tools, shop vac, brooms, vacuum, tools, etc.) and no rod for hanging clothes, ceiling fans in bedrooms controled by one remote in bedroom and second in livingroom, large sliding glass doors to deck don't open, bedroom sliding door doesn't lock (has stick in track so it won't open, though). All minor issues but...
