A beautiful heritage hotel in the heart of Galle Fort. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the team at the Fort printers really looked after us. I recommend eating in the restaurant as it was delicious. We spent every evening having a coffee or a cocktail outside watching the world go by. Have a dip in the pool on those hot days, it’s very refreshing!

Excellent breakfast, like that its a la carte. Great room, wonderful staff. Will definitely return
Room could have coffee/tea making options

The building itself was lovely and the lobby, bar, restaurant and rooms were all decorated really tastefully with lovely furniture.
The cocktail bar served brilliant cocktails - by far the best quality and variety of anywhere we had stayed in Sri Lanka.
The food at the restaurant was fantastic quality and we had a really enjoyable meal there.
The staff went the extra mile - I had a birthday while I was there and they noticed the card in our room and surprised us with flowers on the bed, a cake with a candle at breakfast and all the staff were wishing me a happy birthday as I walked around.
The location is great for walking around Galle and it was easy to get a Tuk Tuk to Unawanatuna beach for a bit more nightlife
Nothing! It was the most expensive hotel we stayed in whilst in Sri Lanka but the quality of the food, drink, accommodation and service was very good.

we had a problem with the room . The hotel cancelled our bill in total. very classy.

Very nice hotel overall
Dinner at the hotel is quite expensive - Not much to do in the Fort after one day

Such a stylish hotel, with beautiful attention to detail. The restaurant was fantastic, including a delicious breakfast. Some of the best food we ate during our holiday.
Nothing, the hotel was wonderful.

The Fort Printers is conveniently located in the heart of historic Galle Fort. Elegantly designed and maintained space. The staff is well trained, friendly and welcoming. Lovely restaurant and memorable breakfast overlooking the pool in the beautiful courtyard. I am looking forward to staying at The Fort Printers again and highly recommend it to anyone.

Very nice and authentic hotel in the centre of Galle Fort. Great restaurant and excellent breakfast. Personnal was friendly and helpful. Suites are all-equiped.
A bit of noise from the restaurant in the evening or even in the morning.

Beautiful characteristic hotel with a lot of charm in the heart of the old fort. We stayed in the Heritage Wing and had an amazing and very spacious room. The hotel has a charming courtyard and on the street side there is a terrace so you can enjoy a nice drink or some food whilst watching all the happenings on the street. Breakfast was very delicious and had a very healthy feel to it compared to many other places.
Since its an old building you will notice more sounds of both outside and inside. If you’re looking for a very quiet place then maybe this is not your hotel.

We had the pleasure to celebrate my birthday here. The staff went out of their way to make it the best day I could have imagined. The room is beautiful, the bed might have been the most comfortable I ever slept in. And the food - simply amazing.

The location and the building are stunning, right in the heard of the historic fort. It was very easy to get to anywhere in the fort by foot, and for further away trips there were always tuk tuks on the corner by the hotel.
Food at the hotel was delicious, and it was great to have Sri Lankan breakfast in the morning too.
All staff very helpful and friendly
Wifi sometimes a bit poor in some of the rooms

The property had been newly renovated whilst closed for Covid. Really stylish combination of colonial and modern. The room was beautiful (we stayed in the Head Master’s room) / elegant, clean and very unique.
The staff were super friendly and helpful.
There was a lovely pool which was small but one of the only hotels with one in Galle.
Great location in the centre of the fort.
The only negative was that the night that we stayed it rained all night - the water running off of the roof, down the drain pipe onto the tiles was very noisy and kept us awake. This could be fixed easily however. We were also woken up at 4.30 by very loud morning prayers from the nearby mosque, but this is obviously outside of the hotel’s control.

Beautiful historic building to stay in and a perfect location to wander around the old town. Staff were so polite and friendly and the food was of a high standard. We had everything we needed in the room and the complementary soft drinks were a great bonus.

Perfect location, sweet staff members. Restaurant offers very good food and wine choices. Room is very spacious, good shower (hot and powerful). Late checkout is perfect for us having flights that leave late at night. The room booklet offers very insightful tourism information as well as the history of the property itself. Lastly the antique style door key is definitely the highlight.
My expectation for a 5-star hotel is a bit higher. The furnishings in my room (which is located across the street of the main building) seem to be very cheap (to name a few, the shower panel is loose, and the wall has cracks that don't seem like are done intentionally, the metal tubes have random paint spots) No power outlet (in fact the only one is in the bathroom where the repeller device has to be unplugged first) near the bedside, or lightswitch bedside either. the bathtub though looks nice, but just seem to be like a furniture since the water comes in very slowly. Mattress is too soft, if I sit on it it will drop to the frame.
While the hotel's hard product is good (having such big rooms in the heart of the Fort), those missing details is really what I think what I consider setting high end product apart. As my last night in Sri Lanka with the intend to indulge myself in a perfect ending, this place misses a bit.

This is a rave review as we loved everything. We arrived in the middle of the night but Peter made sure to look out for us in the morning. Located in the middle of everything in the Fort, we stayed in the Church wing and had a complimentary fully stocked fridge with water and soft drinks plus coffee maker and great teas. There were lounges, sofas to read and a narrow but long enough for short laps pool that was empty most of the time so no need to share (and perfect water temp). Staff really well trained and really enjoyed the meals we ate there (come for lunch even if you are not staying). The historic feel plus relaxed professionalism that was tailored to your needs made it one of my all-time favourite stays.
