Stunningly situated on Whidbey Island's gorgeous Bush Point, this waterfront home provides breathtaking northwesterly views of Puget Sound, passing ships, incredible sunsets, and the peaks of the Olympic Mountains across the water. With 23 steps leading from the expansive deck down to 100 feet of private, sandy beach, this home is ideal for beachcombing, whale watching, birding (bald eagles are known to nest nearby), observing seals with their pups, flying kites, fishing, boating, and roaming the adjacent Smugglers Cove Beach. Inside, you'll be treated to such thoughtful updates as all-new towels and hypoallergenic bedding, gel-infused mattress toppers, dense sleeping pillows, new rugs, and all-new small appliances and Green Life healthy cookware, bakeware, and dishware. Outside, enjoy the large deck overlooking the water, a new gas grill, and a balcony off the primary suite.
During the high fishing season in August, you can throw a line directly from your beach, where salmon are known to often hug the shore (please note that the beach can become a bit busy at that time). If you're bringing your boat or kayaks, you'll love the convenient public boat launch just 100 feet away. South Whidbey State Park is only two miles north, featuring almost four miles of hiking trails that wind through an old-growth forest and along the shoreline. Downtown Freeland is five miles east, where you'll find delicious eateries, wineries, and local shops. There are nearby parks, including public gardens and leash-free dog beaches and trails, all within 10 miles of the home. Grab an amazing slice of pie and take a beautiful walk at Greenbank Farm seven miles north, and go back in time while exploring Fort Casey Historical State Park 15 miles north.

we were a group of ladies in our 70's. Our only suggestion might be to add a grab bar in at least one of the bathrooms.

This is a very well equipped and comfortable house right on Admiralty Inlet. Fantastic ship watching, wildlife and sunsets. Great base for exploring the island.

The property is absolutely gorgeous. Home away from home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back .

We've been coming to Spyglass Beach House for five years now, it's become a traditional for our family. We love the location, convenient to everything Whidbey has to offer, but also ideal for just staying at home and enjoying the property. We've seen orcas, sea lions, seals, bald eagles, hawks, herons, porpoise, lions mane jellyfish, as well as all varieties of ships.
The house is well appointed with everything you might need, lots of thoughtful additions to make our dogs comfortable. Warming! The fence isn't complete and if you have a wily dog you will need to keep a close eye to make sure they don't go running off after a heron or seal, as ours likes to do!

This was our forth visit to this wonderful home, and we loved every moment of our stay. The house was immaculate as always, with plenty of everything one could need. The weather this year was beautiful beyond words, which allowed us to spend many hours enjoying the beach. The sunsets were spectacular, we were even able to see the Northern Lights for two nights, and that was a sight to behold! Spyglass Beach House has become a favorite destination for us, each time we visit we leave with full hearts and unforgettable memories. We cannot recommend this beautiful home enough, it is a true treasure. It is impossible not to have wonderful time here.

This was our 2nd visit here and it doesn’t disappoint. We came more prepared this time as the beach side yard is not fully fenced, so we brought temporary fencing which worked great, to keep our dogs safe. Super dog friendly home, with all the covers for protection of soft furnishings. The views can not be beaten, especially from the master bedroom! The kitchen is extremely well stocked and organized, everywhere is well decorated and designed. We will return again!

It was the perfect place to wind down and take a break! Cooked lots of good food, jigsaw puzzles, dominoes, cribbage, just power lounging. AND long walks on the beach at low tide every day!

We have stayed in many vacation homes over the past twenty years, and this home is without question our favorite. Our family has gathered here four times so far, and each time has been magic. Everything about this wonderful house is perfect, from the moment one walks through the door, "Welcome To Our Home" envelopes you, like a warm hug. Immediately you sense this cottage has been put together with a great deal of love. Every room, nook and cranny has been thoughtfully laid out, with no detail overlooked.
You will have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Beginning with the kitchen which is well equipped with plenty of dishes, utensils, pots & pans, and good appliances. Your family can cook wonderful meals and enjoy them together at the large dinning table, while enjoying an amazing view of the Sound.
The living room is comfortable with a large couch to stretch out on, and watch TV or just hang out. The owners have provided plenty of games to play, and a nice choice of books to read, so you will never be board here.
The view is fabulous! From the dinning room, across the living room you can watch the Sound all day. There are giant cargo ships that go by several times a day, as well as tug boats, Naval ships, and a Ferry boat now and then. You never know just what you might see here, the beautiful Sound is always full of activity. This also includes an incredible verity of wildlife, which includes Bald Eagles, Seals, Herons, Otters, Whales, Geese, Gulls, and many others, we even spotted a Comeraunt which is very rare.
The beds here are very comfortable, we slept wonderfully each night. There are plenty of blankets to keep you warm on those cold winter nights, and nice soft pillows too. The bedrooms are cozy to say the least, nicely decorated, and inviting. I must save the best for last however, and that is the Master Suite upstairs. It is like walking into a dream. There is a huge king sleigh bed surrounded by floor to ceiling windows. The room is ample with lots of room to move around. The truly wonderful feature is the absolutely fabulous view! We could never get enough of it.
You can see all across the Sound with an uninhibited view of the water, the Lighthouse across the Channel, the surrounding landscape, and everything taking place out there. Waking up to that each morning, and seeing it each night as you drift off to sleep, is an experience you will never forget.
So perhaps you can imagine why this home is so special, and why we love it as we do. I believe if your family visits here too, you will feel the same. One last thought; Whidbey Island has a lot of fun and interesting activities to check out during your visit. there are several great Wineries, a fun Meadery, and some funky cool shops to poke through. Also, wonderful parks and nature reserves, as well as great public beaches to enjoy. You cannot go wrong here.

Spy glass beach house is in a beautiful spot! The views can not be beat. This is our 10th rental from VRBO over the years and it was one of the cleanest, most well appointed homes. It was nicely furnished, well stocked, kitchen was great! Bedrooms were clean, beds very comfortable and a great master bedroom! This home is the perfect beach home for sure. Would definitely rent again!

The house is wonderfully situated on the water with views of freighters and ferries, spectacular sunsets and beach walks. The community is very friendly and walkable. The owners clearly are dog lovers! Toys, towels, and everything one needs for bringing your dog. Our English lab loves it here! The kitchen has everything you could need. The bedrooms are very nice, beds comfortable, and bedding very nice. Ten stars! **********

We had a great time at this lovely house on Whidbey. The house was comfortable and the view was great. We especially enjoyed the deck and hot tub. We were there the last full week in August through Labor Day and did not expect to have people fishing out front all day every day. We embraced the fishing and got our 7 and 5 year old boys some kids' rods and they caught some fish! We got to know the regulars who share the private stretch of beach and they said it was the best fishing in years. They even gave our boys some fishing tips. We enjoyed our stay and it was a memorable trip, but it was pretty expensive for what turned out to be a not so private beach.
8.0 / 10.0
The house was nice, but the home is located next to public in which people can walk through property to the next beach. People did not obey the private property and used the beach anyways there was over 50 people using beach & it wasnoisy from sunrise to sunset fishing & just people using the beach. We could not enjoy the beach or use it during our stay 5 days trip. The property beach front is way to busy in the summer months if want use the beach or enjoy it!

This house is such a great place to relax, take in excellent views, and spend time with family on the beach! The owners really did a wonderful job, thinking of all the perfect touches to make for a comfortable stay (great kitchenware, extra blankets, board games and puzzles, rock painting station, cozy pillows and bedding). The hot tub and deck are fabulous! Short trip to the grocery store to get anything you need. This was our second stay and we’ve already booked again for next year. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to get away to the beach!

This beautiful, cheery home was the perfect spot for a relaxing family getaway. The views are stunning, the house is equipped with everything you might need, and doggies are made to feel like first- class citizens here! Our favorite activities included long walks with our pup on the beach and watching glorious sunsets from the hot tub.

Without a doubt, this was the most wonderful family vacation we have ever spent at any property. We fell in love with this charming, warm, and welcoming home the moment we stepped through the front door, everything was perfect. The views were just beautiful, we spent hours watching the weather doing wonderful things. Since we were there during October, there was some spectacular storms, amazing lightning shows, we even lost power for a short time but that was fun too. In summery, this lovely home is a must visit property. There is lack for nothing, it has every comfort you could hope for. We are deeply grateful to the owners for so generously allowing us to enjoy this special beach front property. We truly hope to visit again.

Loved the incredible views, beach access, home decor and floor plan as well as the fully stocked home that is dog friendly and so clean. Only problem was, the house was struggling to heat up and it was difficult being inside with 52-57 degree temps in the house. We wore coats and blankets inside.

The house was immaculate and very well appointed. Close driving to lots of great tourist spots, restaurants and beaches.

This listing is a Vacasa managed property. If you book through VRBO, you will end up paying extra money that you will not be able to get back no matter what, even if Vacasa gives you a refund for some of their portion. A natural disaster caused a power failure at this home 5 hours into our stay and would not be repaired for multiple days, leaving us in 40° weather with no power, heat or water. Couldn't flush toilets, wash hands, cook, warm the home or charge our devices. We had no option but to leave the following morning, as there is no generator in this home and we had a 9 month old baby with us. Ultimately, we ended up paying a LOT of money to stay in this home for 5 hours with power and 14 hours without power before evacuating. It's unfortunate, because the home is lovely with wonderful views and the owners seem nice based on the evidence of the house manual. If we had a direct line of communication with them instead of having to work through VRBO and Vacasa, we likely would have had a better resolution to a weather emergency that was no fault of ours or the homeowner. We were looking forward to a few nights in this lovely home. I suggest you not book this place during the fall or winter until a generator is installed, considering the likelihood of future weather events like this increasing due to climate change.

Absolutely perfect vacation rental. The fenced yard was so great for the dogs. Every detail in the house was so well thought out. Highlights were the private beach and hearing the gentle waves from the upstairs master suite.

We loved this well kept house with an amazing view. Everything in this house was perfectly chosen and perfectly placed. It was like walking into a beach house photo shoot!
SO much to do on Whidbey Island! The house has great decks to enjoy the view. Hot tub and fire pit were enjoyed also!
As soon as we got there we wanted to come back - and within minutes did make another reservation for next year!

Just an absolutely perfect place. Incredibly beautiful, we loved all the windows, especially in the upstairs bedroom. Watching eagles and seals from up there was amazing. Such a comfortable home as well, everything you would need and the best night of sleep I have had during this pregnancy! Loved how dog friendly it was and the being right on the beach was wonderful. Can’t wait to book again, highly recommend!

A gem of a vacation rental
Beautiful home with the most amazing views. Such lovely attention to details and exceptionally dog friendly, they even provided sofa protection and towels.
The deck and yard are great, but not fully fenced. For our dogs we had to improvise with x-pens to keep them safe, as there is a steep drop off down to the beach.
Love the hot tub and fire pit. The beach walks were so refreshing and easily accessed by the stairs, but they are narrow, we walked around near the boat ramp.
We'd happily come back to this GEM!
