The property location was excellent. If needed repairs would be made, this would make a great weekend get away.
Upon arrival, a broken wine refrigerator was sitting on the front porch along with a broken large wheel dolly. When entering the home, there were two live cameras located within the living area (Note: the manager did notify us and gave permission to disconnect). There were several closet doors which were broken and off the sliding track rails; hanging.
The outside deck (over the water) was in need of repairs making it a safety issue on the south and north side of the home. Repairs had been started but, much needed to be done. All deck furniture was completely broken and remained on the deck scattered about.
Shortly after arriving, we realized there was no hot water. The manager was contacted and responded quickly giving us instructions on correcting the problem. However, by morning the problem was not resolved. The manager did not respond until five hours later. As a result, we vacated the property.
The manager was unwilling to offer a refund and VRBO offered no assistance.
If the problems were corrected, I would be willing to return.
This is only my personal opinion (photos taken).

Nice place! Decor is precious and has all the amenities. Loved being over the water. The outdoor deck needs some work and the owner stated that he is in the process of getting it renovated. Would stay definitely stay again!

Beautiful view of False River. Off the beaten path of the metropolitan area, which was nice for us. Excellent host.

The house was nicely decorated and very comfortable. The host was great...he was very responsive and easy to communicate with and provided extra touches like a welcome basket with wine and snacks, and soft blankets for lounging in the living room. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family looking for a weekend getaway on False River.

wine down on the river
Went to the area to attend a wine festival in New Roads. Although there was a boating accident on the river that prevented us from enjoying the river for most of the weekend we still had a wonderful time. The house was comfortable but a bit more attention to cleaning of the house pre our arrival would have been nice.

This property is literally sitting out over the water- just as you see in the photo. Everything was there for a welcoming stay-some snacks and cold drinks; detergent for the washer; paper towel. Great suggestions for dinner. There is a Walmart nearby (we needed a couple things for meals). Big tv's. Just watch your head upstairs if you are tall because the ceiling slants down over the beds. Highly recommend

Weekend getaway
Wonderful stay on beautiful false river. The accommodations were perfect. A lot of thought went into the small details.
Keith was the perfect host. We had many questions, and he was quick to answer them all. I would definitely love to return to Oscar again in the future.

Just prior to arrival a massive storm was rolling in. I had just arrived at a nearby museum that was closing early who told me about the storm and that schools were closing early due to the hail and tornado watch. I contacted the owner about checking in early about 30 minutes and he responded promptly and let us arrive. We almost had our 2 cars unloaded. It was very nice of the owner to also leave us wine and snacks because with the storm we weren't about to leave to get dinner. The house is out on the water, in line with the neighboring decks rather than the houses so you felt privacy. It was nerve wracking and exillerating to watch the storm from those big windows. The bedrooms are on separate floors which I had not noticed when booking. The upstairs bedroom has 2 large queen beds taking up most of the room. Both beds used were comfortable but no night stand or dressers upstairs. There were portable clothes racks and only 10 hangers for us 3 adults. We felt like the family lives here because all of the closets are locked. We found it intriguing that there were fishing poles, worms in the fridge and a canoe but weren't sure if we could use them. We didn't contact the owner though. The house is on a main road and down a steep hill so we heard vehicles all night but it was fine. We felt like it was remote but we did day trips to Baton Rouge and St. Francisville (loved that town).
I would have given this 5 stars except for a few items. The security deposit is huge and it's taken at booking. I wasn't aware of it until I began the booking and there is an option to pay more for insurance. Since I know I won't damage a property I opted to pay the deposit. But I expected it to be charged 30 days prior not 3 months prior. There was damage to the house prior to our arrival such as stains on the couch, the master sink was not attached to the wall and a couple of others. I was extremely nervous about getting my deposit back. It took 2 1/2 weeks. I contacted the owner after the first week. None of the other properties we stayed at charged a deposit like this. The house wasn't as clean as we expected and maybe arriving 30 minutes early made a difference but I doubt it. The fridge wasn't clean, the upstairs rug was buckled, stained and not vacuumed. The bathrooms were both clean as was the main floor.
We felt like the owners might be new to vrbo but I do think the owners have a unique place and if these issues were improved, I would consider returning.

Nice, clean home with a gorgeous view
Really nice home. We booked it last-minute and it was somehow double-booked upon arrival. Owner was prompt to resolve. Pros - nice home, clean, quiet and as described. Cons - owner needs to update contact info to remove ex-spouse number and security cameras inside (we unplugged).

We unfortunately had a lot of rain which kept us indoors a lot. It would have been nice to have an overhang or a pier to be close to the water.

Relaxing on the water
Great property. Keith and Gina have anticipated everything you need for a relaxing time on the water away from home. Wonderful view of False River with a deck where you can fish, watch the boats, read a book or enjoy the scenery with your favorite beverage. The kitchen has everything you need as well as the bar.
