Location to the Redwoods is great, but it is very secluded. Steep, gravel, winding road, then a long lane. OK if you gave 4-wheel drive. Cute cabin. Kitchen could be better supplied.

Clean and everything was just there. Staff were helpful when we realized we didn't have a firelighter for the stove. Wonderful vacation home and attention to detail and fantastic location!

We loved the location of the house (literally in the Redwoods). Inside of house was clean. We arrived late the day of arrival (7 pm). Visitors should know that Orick is very small with very limited food choices and shuts down early. We made it to Trinidad in time to get some pizza at Headies. It was fabulous! And did some grocery shopping. I understand the house is in the Forrest, but the outside could use some cleaning and TLC. Lots of spider webs and furniture was dirty. But I do recommend staying here. We enjoyed the seclusion.

Good location about 30-40 from everything we wanted to do. Listing was accurate. House is secluded, which worked for us. We had enough towels for family of 4 for 4 nights. Kitchen has everything you need to cook.

The location is amazing. It's a few short minutes to the 101 but up a mountain road far enough that you feel completely secluded. The house was immaculately clean. The beds were comfortable, Wifi worked without a hitch, and kitchen had all the necessities. It is a great place to stay while exploring the area. If absolutely book again!

The location of this property truly feels magical. The views as you drive off the main road to get to the house are breathtaking and once you arrive at the destination you’ll be in awe by both the beauty of the outdoors and inside the house.
Communication was great from the start which I always appreciate. The house was very clean, has a lot of character, and feels very cozy. I especially liked that each room has a sliding door that allows each guest to step out and enjoy the crisp fresh air on the wraparound deck.
If you want to escape from the hustle, this is the perfect place!

From the second we pulled into the driveway, we fell in love with this cabin. It is in a secluded location, where we didn't have to worry about neighbors. We could experience the outdoors in peace and quiet. The rooms were very comfy and provided lots of storage for clothing and other items. We used the kitchen everyday and it was perfect for our needs. The location of the cabin is perfect, it's very close to Redwood National Park hiking trails, and also close to Trinidad where we went to get groceries and eat dinner. I couldn't recommend this cabin enough. 100 percent would be willing to go back!

The property itself is really cool and the location takes it to another level. The views out of the bedroom windows are stunning. Mad props to the craftsman/woman who installed the gorgeous wood floors!

This is a great location to all hiking trails and beach access. Very comfortable and clean. A lot of windows to view the beautiful scenery around us. It was so peaceful to wake up and have a morning coffee in the dewy, quiet mornings. Absolutely love this spot and would definitely stay here again.

There was some rain with a nip in the air. We loved warming ourselves by the cozy wood burning stove. I wish the wood was provided. Also, a washer and dryer would have been nice. We saw elk and white tailed deer right on the property. The giant Redwood trees were very impressive and many on the cabin’s property. I would stay here again. This was my best vacation!

House was nice and clean. It was raining most of our stay but surrounding area was secluded and beautiful. Host provided all the necessary information to access the house and internet. The only thing I wish they had was a washer and dryer.

Overall we enjoyed this property and its secludedness and peaceful attributes. A really good spot to call home base while exploring the redwoods national park areas! For as secluded as it is, we suggest recommending in the listing to grocery shop ahead of time in towns 20min north or south of Orick (include coffee and basics in your grocery shopping as they aren’t provided), and purchase fire wood if you’re staying in the cooler months. The house is heated by a wood burning stove, and the welcome book at the house said wood would be provided in the wood shed, but there was no wood at all. So we had to scrounge up sticks/kindling around the house on our first night and then purchase wood the next day. Otherwise, the house was beautiful and a great spot for a couple on their honeymoon.

The cabin was in a crazy awesome location! Secluded for sure. Inside was well kept and extremely nice. Close to attractions and beach. All in all a great stay and will be back

I could not have asked for a better place to stay. It is certainly a hidden gem. The space was incredible, the property was beautiful, and the house was pristine. The instructions on how to get in, and how to find the property were great and clear. There was also so many books with information on the hidden treasures in the area. I would absolutely stay here again.

This little cottage is the perfect place to explore the redwoods, visit the lagoons, or just relax in a quiet place. We hope to stay here again!

Overall, we had a nice stay, and would stay again. However, we did encounter a few surprises.
The SMS and email from Vacasa didn't mention a combination locked gate, so nothing prepared us for the apparently combination locked gate at the entrance. On closer inspection we discovered the lock wasn't actually closed all the way, so we could get in. It would be unfortunate if someone accidentally locked themselves in or out without knowing the combination, however.
The front door code worked, and the self-described stylish cabin was mostly very nice. It was super clean.
The first unhappy discovery was that each bedroom has a sliding glass door to access an outside deck, but none of those doors have screens installed. For the middle bedroom, that means there's no window that can be opened with a screen.
It appears that the washer and dryer had been removed and not replaced.
I had to change the current time on the HVAC unit so it would stop running the fan while we were trying to sleep.
The only pots and pans were non-stick, and they all had damaged surfaces.
Aside from the above issues that could easily be remedied, we had a great stay. It was very comfortable and peaceful.

Very comfortable and spacious cabin in the forest, quiet and private. My 11 yo was in heaven on the property, where she caught three species of amphibian and 2 garter snakes!

It was a peaceful location and close to all the areas we wanted to visit. House was welcoming and rooms comfortable. The only downside was the one bathroom and no washer and dryer, had to go out and wash at a laundromat. Would definitely stay here again.

Home was excellent. Very clean. Kitchen well equipped. Very remote location which we loved. Road to house was not a problem to drive. Light on your driveway entrance would be helpful finding it in the dark. We enjoyed our time in the Redwoods and viewing the ocean.

Well equipped, very clean, good WiFi. As others have mentioned, bring your own food (don't forget coffee) as there are very limited options nearby.

We loved this place. It’s away from other places but not scarily so, in a lovely wooded area high on a hill. Comfortable, not fancy but with everything we needed, good beds, well equipped kitchen, reliable WiFi. The road up is dirt and gravel, pretty much one lane, but we never met another vehicle going up and down, and it’s no worse than some of the redwoods state park roads (e.g., Howland Hill in Jedediah Smith). It’s convenient to several magnificent parks, including the Humboldt Lagoons. Little to no dining out in Orick (depending on season), so plan to eat in unless you’re willing to drive the PCH and cabin road from Trinidad at night. Hope to come back here sometime.

We wished we could of stayed longer! The cabin was perfect for 3 friends. We cooked or grilled every night and had everything we needed. The deck along the side of the house was wonderful to breathe in the nature, and enjoy the silence. It’s very secluded. I would recommend a small SUV. It’s a perfect base for hiking the Redwoods parks. We stopped to stock up on supplies after leaving the airport. Orick is very limited on amenities, but you won’t miss them! Wonderful trip!

This is in an ideal location for touring Redwood parks. My brother and I used it as a base camp for several days of hiking. The cabin is very nice inside and quiet - the only noise was the faint call of sea lions in the distance. It is very well equipped and included a single laundry tab and a single dishwasher tab. I would recommend bringing a few of your own just in case. You should also bring bath soap and shampoo as the hotel size provided is pretty small. Someone else noted the coffee maker is a Melitta/cone style. There was an open box in the cupboard but bring your own #4 filters and favorite ground coffee. Plenty of plates, cups, glasses and silverware. There are sufficient cooking pots and pans (and a colander) to make just about anything. We did not try the grill outside but noted there was a spare propane tank on the deck. There is also a set of BBQ tools in a case in the cupboard. Bring your own food!!! There are basically no options to eat anywhere within 10-15 miles. Besides, you will not want to leave the peacefulness anyway. The fireplace works well but you may want to read up on how to use a freestanding wood stove. Opening the door a bit where the ashes fall will create enough updraft to turn the inside into a blast furnace.
Two drawbacks. Although there are plenty of light fixtures throughout, the fluorescent lights in the kitchen are too dim to be useful. The under cabinet lights help but you may want to bring a headlamp. Secondly the water pressure is pretty low. No problem with hot water but showers are going to be a rinse and dry affair. Strangely, the shower head “screams” and you can actually hear the pulse as the pressure goes up and down.

We stayed in the cabin while we hiked in the area. The cabin is exactly as shown in the listing. It is very functional home base for exploring the area. The beds are comfy and the kitchen is well stocked. The dryer is a little temperamental, but gets the job done. Compared to some places we have stayed, they are very easy going about check out. There's no list of stuff you have to do (when you are also paying a cleaning fee). A few notes... the power apparently goes out with some regularity (there's a warning on the fridge), and you cannot use any water or flush during the outage. It was scheduled to be out while we were there (but wasn't that day), and went out for most of another day. Orick is charming in its own way, but there's really not much to it. You will be driving if you want to eat out or shop (but the grocery in Orick is good). We enjoyed the cabin and our time among the redwoods.

This cabin was absolutely perfect for our family of four to use as base camp for exploring the redwoods and coast. We wanted to do a lot of hiking and see all we could and the location was excellent for that! The house itself had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and shower was hot! We cooked all of our meals there, which is really the only option as there is nowhere close to eat. We did one lunch at the roadside stand in Orick. Also the little market in Orick had more than we expected as far as groceries, but we hit the bigger stores when we traveled to Trinidad or Crescent City. The kitchen is stocked well enough to get by, better than other rental homes we have stayed in. The coffee pot is nice but uses cone filters. This is information I always want to know before arrival! The first day I had to fashion one out of a paper towel, which got us the much needed coffee! As others have mentioned, this is a very rural area. The house is extremely secluded, which was perfect for us, but some people might not be comfortable with. The visitors center is just down the road and we stopped by the gorgeous beach there several times. In June, the sand was warm enough to take off our shoes and it felt soothing on our tired feet after many miles of hikes. Overall we had a stellar vacation and this house was awesome!

Cozy Cozy Cabin
The setting for this cabin is secluded and extremely peaceful. There are plenty of seating options in the front and on the deck to enjoy the trees and serenity. The inside of the cabin was even more adorable and inviting than the pictures showed! Everything was neat and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay and would definitely recommend!!
