Loved the vistas, stars at night, and sitting around the fire pit!

This was probably the best house we have ever rented. Clean, spacious, private and with an insane view. We stayed for 6 days and we loved it. Highly recommended!

Beautiful peaceful location, with plenty of space for 5 people.

Close to National and State Parks.

The house was absolutely perfect for our family of four. Clean, beautiful, gorgeous views, quiet setting, had everything we needed! Close to redwood hikes and beach! No restaurants in town so shop ahead. There is a small market to get some basics. Overall, loved it!

Close to parks which are amazing. Cute and comfortable house. Very clean and beds were extremely comfortable. Perfect for our group of 4. Recommend packing in your own food as the town of Orick has little to nothing to offer.

Very clean. Beautiful view

My family and I stopped here on our way north to hike in the redwoods for two nights. The house is really set back up on a hillside by a farm. You can see the ocean in the far distance but I might say it has a peaceful farm field to admire.
It’s clean and has great windows.
The washer and dryer are set in a little shed type of attachment at the back of the car port. It’s a bit of a storage shed at most.
The interior of the house was clean and comfy. With speed in mind all four of us were able to shower with hot water

The house is welcoming and cozy. We enjoyed the wildlife the deer, the bunnies and hummingbirds we came to photograph the redwoods and it was beautiful. Thank you.

Great property! Amazing 1mile walk to beach! Kitchen is stocked. Breathtaking views from huge windows. No restaurants near by, be prepared to cook

We loved being so close to so many trails through the Redwoods and the ocean!

The home was clean with all the amenities necessary. The view from the house is amazing and the large windows were a big plus.
The whole area was beautiful and there is a large beach nearby. This was a 5 star stay for my wife and I.
PS. The nook where the bed is was a great place to sleep and look at the sky.

Had a wonderful stay! Home was is a great location for visiting the national park. Closest accommodations that were nice that I could find! Saw a bunch of seals at the beach down the road which was definitely a highlight. We were a bit confused when finding the property at night it is on an extremely narrow road and you need to veer right uphill. Also the door combination is insanely long which is just a bit annoying. However Place was very cute and well stocked which outweighs those few negatives!

This place was perfect! Restful and peaceful atmosphere. We ended up just resting and enjoying the view all day, perfect end to our vacation. Beds were comfortable, house clean and comfortable to relax in…nice set up. Trinidad has great places to eat. Plan to come back for more hiking and beach exploring.

This house is amazing and a real gem on VRBO. We stayed here during our Redwoods vacation. We chose the house based on its location to the Redwoods, the trails we wanted to hike, and the fact that it wasn't in a city. We arrived at night so we got a wonderful big reveal of the amazing ocean view from the big windows in the morning.
The house was very clean and well stocked. It is up a single lane country road that provided some adventure. It is also close to beach access. The town of Orick has a grocery store straight out of the 90s. So much fun.
There was plenty of room in the house for mom, dad, and two kids. The bathroom was nice and the shower had plenty of hot water. The kitchen was great to cook in, and it was nice to have Netflix for when we were chilling out before bed time.
The only strange thing was when the trash can was near full we contacted Vacasa to ask what to do with it and were told to sit it out on the curb to be picked up Monday morning. Well, there isn't a curb and we were way up on a hill. Most VRBO properties we've stayed in have some exterior trash can to put bags once the inside trash is full.
Other than that one thing, this is a perfect place to stay for a Redwoods vacation.

This place is tucked up in the hills but the area was so peaceful. While there is an oceanview, it is really just to be seen from the property. We enjoyed the Trillium Falls trail and Lost Man's creek trail. It was a great, relaxing trip.

This home was such a beautiful place to stay. The electricity went out for a day of our stay(which seems to be something that needs to be anticipated), but we bought firewood and played games and it was so cozy. The view is so beautiful! I would most definitely go back to stay there!

This property exceeds the 5 star reviews you’ll see on Vrbo. We had an absolutely incredible time staying here during our trip to Redwood National Park. The views from the house are unbelievable and the place couldn’t have been cleaner. We will absolutely be coming back.

Home is lovely and comfortable . It is off the beaten path but close drive to the redwoods and beaches . Kitchen is well stocked which is good as there is t anything g really in Orick. There is a grocery store and you can buy wood there . We were there in January and were fine with a fire and the heater .Very nice place to stay

This property was nothing short of amazing!!
The views alone rate this property 5+ stars. The house was clean and ready for our stay. When I needed to contact the host, I got a very quick response.
The house is located in the heart of the Redwood National Park and all of the sites we wanted to visit were just a few minutes drive away.

Everything was great except for a heater. The heater was not good enough to make the house warm even when we used two small heaters in each room. We were advised to use fireplace and we needed to purchase the firewood. We need 5 bundles for 3 nights. We were not happy to spend extra money for that. It helped warm up, but not that enough.
The house has its own charm and great views. I might visit again in summer, but not in winter time….

We were looking for somewhere to stay to be close to the redwoods and this was the ticket! Very close proximity to quite a few great redwood hikes and still close enough to great hikes farther north! This house was absolutely perfect for us. The house was extremely clean and had all kinds of appliances and amenities including a drying machine which was very much needed as it rained every day we were there. It’s a couple miles off of the 101, but we loved the drive along pastures with cattle grazing and you can even see the ocean in the distance from the picture window. We felt so at home and comfortable in this house, we even got great sleep in the beds. We were all so glad we happened upon this rental and would most definitely stay again!

This place was great! Great view of the ocean, quiet, and clean. The wood stove made it cozy, and the kids loved all of the games! Enjoyed being close to lots of hikes in the Redwoods as well as being close to beaches. The kitchen has everything you need; the only thing I would say is to be aware that there are only non-stick pans(bring your own if you prefer not to use non -stick), and the knives for chopping up veggies have sticky handles that leave a black mark on your hand, so bring a knife if you plan on cooking a lot. Nice features were the plethora of modes of making coffee, the hiking guide books, and the kids loved the bingo game and huge movie selection. Overall, this place was lovely and we'd come again!

We loved Prairie Beach Home. It was the perfect setting for our getaway. We visit the redwood country nearly every year and I've viewed the Prairie Beach Home on the website for several years, but until this year it didn't work out for us to stay at this property. First off, the rental amount is a true bargain for this property. The home is super well appointed with every need addressed and the decor is very nice, not fussy, but very comfortable and suits the setting perfectly. The beds are comfortable and we had a fire in the wood stove every evening which kept the rooms warm and cozy. We like to sleep in a cool room, so the fact the warmth from the fire doesn't travel well to the bedroom actually worked in our favor. The water pressure isn't super strong, but that presented no problem for us and we were delighted that the water was tasty right from the tap! The view out to the ocean is lovely and so bucolic with the cows in the pastures. We were visited by a sweet doe one morning and enjoyed hearing the frogs at night.
Orick itself is not much to write home about, well past it's heyday, but quiet and that brings its own charm. We loved how the elk herd makes itself at home wherever it pleases sometimes even stopping traffic on Hwy 101, by lingering right on the road. All of our favorite hiking spots are nearby and we even discovered a few new adventures to be had up Bald Hills Road. We beach combed on Agate Beach and enjoyed meals out in Trinidad. Great stay, we'll be back!

We LOVED this property. The online pictures do not do it justice. It is immaculately clean. It is a very comfortable space located on the side of a mountain in a forest overlooking a cow prairie, other mountains and the ocean. With the windows open you can hear the waves crashing. We took a 1 mile walk to the beach where we saw sea lions swimming and hunting. This is a very special place.

Great stay. A long drive back to it. Good we had a gps to get to it.

What a great week spent at this place near the Redwoods. It has everything you could need from a vacation rental. The location is great to take advantage of the Redwoods nearby. I really enjoyed the view from the place of the ocean, especially watching the fog rolling in.

This house was the perfect launchpad for our California Redwoods adventures. Everything was wonderfully appointed and easy to locate, the house was spotless, and the location was A+ choice! We loved it so much, sometimes instead of going back out into the National Forest, we just stayed home and enjoyed the property and the local beach access. Absolutely flawless stay, wouldn't change a thing!

We loved our quiet stay at this lovely house with an ocean view! Great location for hikes in the Redwoods and coastal areas. We enjoyed the rabbits and quail wildlife in the mornings and evenings too! The house was well equipped with what we needed for cooking, making s’mores, and entertainment.

we had the best time at this property. just what we needed to recharge.

This place was great. The view is the best part. Also being in such close driving distance to Prairie Creek Redwoods. The house itself is not flashy but comfortable and easy to be in (and easy to cook in, which is essential since there's basically nothing in Orick). I will be recommending this house to friends and family visiting the area for sure. Easy communication with the property manager too.

This place is so great that I was already imagining my next stay during the first night. Yes, the road to get here is rough and narrow - only 1 lane once you're off the main road - but the payoff is worth it. You get beautiful views from inside and outside the house and a serene atmosphere. There aren't many restaurants or grocery options nearby so we cooked all our meals in the very well-stocked kitchen. There are many creature comforts like extra throw blankets, milk frother, board games, and DVDs. The cleaners are very thorough, not just the rooms were clean but also the little things that are easy to overlook like the inside of the Keurig machine. The rental company Vacasa was communicative and provided easy instructions to check in. Over all a great stay.

Overall we loved this place and will stay here again. Here are a few things I wish were different-
Next time we'll rent a vehicle with better ground clearance. Not only for this driveway and surrounding roads, but for all the places we explored up and down the coast.
I wish there were instructions on how to best keep the house warm. The extra blankets came in handy.
Don't plan on using the oven. Plan for grill or stovetop, or microwave.
Clean, comfy and a beautiful setting!

Worst vacation rental ever. Power out for over 30 hours with no water/heat. 2 wasted days out of a 4 day rental. Had to cut vacation short by 1 day. Wood burning fireplace did not have instructions or kindling. No offer from property manager to pay for hotel room we had to get 50 miles away so that kids would be able to have water and a warm place to sleep.

Nice view, well stocked, comfy bed, comfy furniture. Would have rated it a five but for the road and the heating.

Our group of four found this home the perfect place to stay for hiking Redwood NP. Located away from the main road with a view of the ocean in the distance. The home was very well equipped with clean, high end pots and pans including 4 methods to brew coffee in the morning. I would have brought filters had I have known a pour over cup was available. The home was very clean and comfortable. We cooked in every day after hiking then took a stroll on the beach at sunset. We would stay here again if the opportunity arises.

This was the perfect home for our family as we hiked and explored Redwood National Park. With young kids, we didn’t want to have to drive too far to all the various trailheads, so this home was in a great setting. My daughters loved sitting in front of the big windows and watching the ocean. We spent our evenings walking on the beach that is just down from the house. The home had one of the most well equipped kitchens of any rental I have ever stayed in!! The beds were also really comfortable and the quiet setting made for wonderful rest.
