This house was perfect for us 4 single Hiking Ladies. It was a great location to visit Redwood National & State Parks. Not far to head south to Trinidad or north to Jedediah Smith SP and everything in between. House was spacious and well equipped. Large deck was wonderful for dinner and happy hour and sunsets. And remember to grab a pizza at Mo Jo's Food Truck just down the road.

Beautiful retro home on nice piece of property with great views! Comfortable, very clean and all the amenities! Close to parks and trails too! Definitely a home away from home!

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The location was central to many trails and parks, which was the main purpose of our trip.
The steep driveway was a bit intimidating when arriving after dark for the first time, but the house was worth it!

This house is a retro time capsule - a real treasure. The interior is lovely with gorgeous views of the ocean as a bonus as well as the proximity to the redwood parks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - thank you!

We loved the view of the trees, birds, and ocean. We appreciated the kitchen being stocked with lots of dishes and spices. We also loved the deck, the furniture, the old books, and other unique aspects of the house. The location to the Redwoods was also great!

We absolutely loved this house. It was clean, spacious and had amazing views. We especially enjoyed listening to the many different species of birds in the yard as we drank our coffee on the deck every morning. The kids got a kick out of all of the retro decor and it brought my husband and me back to our childhoods! I highly recommend this house.

Such a peaceful retreat! The home was spacious and very conveniently located. Loved the huge wrap around deck for watching hummingbirds and enjoying sunsets with views of trees on hillside, farm pastures and nice glimpse of Pacific Ocean. So well-stocked, comfortable, charming and a perfect home for enjoying northern California and the Redwoods. If you prefer being near amenities (grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants) I do not recommend this home, as the town of Orick is quite isolated. I loved that aspect, though, and a huge reason why I chose it. It is an escape!!!!!

Our family of 4 including a high school senior and college student spent four great days here in mid-June. The house more than met all of our expectations - the beds were VERY comfortable, kitchen was well-equipped, and the location is fantastic - just a few minutes away from several outstanding trails as well as the beach.

We stayed during our trip to Redwood NP with four kids (ranging in age from 4-9)! This was the perfect location - we were only about 10 minutes from the trailheads that we wanted to do. We all loved the retro vibe, the kids thought it was cool and had fun with all the books, games, and toys available.

Viewcrest retro country home was absolutely fabulous. It is well appointed with spectacular views and is truly cozy and comfortable, perfect for our girls getaway. Located in the heart of Redwood country. It was nice to experience the tree giant one day and beach the next. We would definitely book again.

The house and location were great for the Redwoods. The little town of Orick is very small and doesn't offer much (restaurants or groceries) but it also give seclusion which was very nice. And you can see the coast from the back porch of the house which was amazing. Would definitely stay there again.

Our family stayed at this property and found it as a perfect spot to explore the Redwood National and State Parks. It is within 30 minutes driving of all the important trails and 10 minutes to the beach. It is hard to find something so perfectly located.
The property is very nice, with incredible views of the forest and even a glimpse of the ocean. It is equipped with all the necessary amenities. We felt just as at home.
We strongly recommend this property. If we will be in the area again, we surely will try to stay there.

The retro vibe of this homemade for a fun unique experience. The view from the deck was awe inspiring. The home was quiet and well stocked. You can tell the owners care about this hime and are very thoughtful. Things like games and books for kids, informative notes, and a great book of hikes and places to visit complete with directions. Highly recommend this place, especially if you’re planning on hiking the redwoods.

The town of Orick is a very old town but can’t beat the location to the redwoods. Plan on stopping at a larger town for food before getting to Orick. We cooked each night at the house. The house was amazing with a large kitchen and family room. Plenty of room for all to hang out without being on top of each other. The views are outstanding. We will definitely stay here again.

Felt privileged to even stay here! The views, the vibe, the RECORD player! Super clean everywhere and plenty of comfy places all
Well decorated. It was like staying at a high class spa. We chilled, cooked, read, and visited the Redwoods and beach which were literally in the backyard. And the views from wraparound decks??? BEYOND STUNNING. Slept great. Hummingbirds visit and birds can be heard. So peaceful. This place is the best we have EVER stayed.

Billed as a “retro” property with almost all 5/5 ratings I expected an amazing place with an amazing view (and “splurged” the extra cost thinking this place would be a great end to a vacation at lesser lodgings) but it was just old (70’s) with an odd old lady smell, and although clean, it was just an old clean home to stay in.
It was expensive (~$400/night) and not worth that. The Wi-Fi (billed as excellent) would not support our Firestick) although you could use your phone online.
The view (billed as ocean view) was a small space between the bushes where you could get a glimpse of the pacific on the edge of the deck, and that wasn’t great.
The bed seemed lumpy and needing replacement in the master room. The worst was that our host texted us the evening of arrival that our power would go out the next morning from 8-4 the following day (and we had items in the fridge and freezer) for our planned second day there. Thankfully they refunded us promptly at our request the following day plus 1/2 the cleaning fee and that was reasonable and made things right.
Vacasa, the host company was very responsive and very helpful; they were great!
Overall, it was much less than expected and less value than expected. This would be a fine place for someone with a large group to use primarily as a staging place for hiking in the area but not for someone (like us) to spend a nice time enjoying the place, down time, views and some quiet tv time in the evenings binging on your shows.

This place has everything you could need in a vacation rental. The kitchen has everything you need. Quiet and secluded, but yet minutes from either the ocean or the magnificent Redwoods. Love the vibe! This home was also 👌 in clean! Can't wait to come back!!!! Thank You to ALL involved in making this a perfect home away from home. 10 out of 10

Delightful Retreat
My wife and I had a wonderful time at this cheerful home. We always find it make such a difference to stay in a house that was/is someone's actual home. We loved the decor, the views and how happy this house was during our 5 day stay. It is a perfect location for exploring the Redwood parks as well as nearby tide pools. We would definitely stay here again!

Private home located in the heart of the California Redwoods
This home sits on its own, private little hill with views of the mountains and a sneak view of the ocean. The location is perfect for a family or couples wanting to experience the grantor of the California Redwoods.

Great location
We loved the architecture of the house and the location with a view of the Pacific Ocean and the Orick Valley. If you are a runner, you can run about two miles down to a very private Ocean Beach on a gravel trail. There is a grocery store in town, but basically there are no restaurants in the area, so get your groceries in Crescent City before coming to the house. The location is right in the middle of Redwoods National Park, so all park areas are easy to access.

You will like this experience.
What’s not to love about this place. It’s clean, quiet, in a beautiful location, easy to navigate to, and immaculately kept. An experience to reminisce for as long as I’m able.
