This perfectly restored and flawlessly maintained 1930's Retro Cottage is your ticket to a stay in the highly sought after Fort Grounds neighborhood of downtown Coeur d'Alene.
Our Charming Cottage is the perfect refuge to whisk your troubles away. The sounds of a flowing water feature, colorful gardens, were all lovingly created to inspire the essence of family and home. This is a place where you might find joy and happiness. We hope our Charming Cottage can provide enjoyment to those in need and strength for those who envision a more peaceful existence during their stay in Coeur d'Alene.
The Charming Cottages neighborhood (Fort Grounds) is rich in history and is a dedicated National Historical District. It is located just a few minutes walk from Lake Coeur d,Alene (beaches and parks) and the downtown CDA Resort, shopping, art galleries, restaurants, bar and grills and vibrant nightlife.
The house has been restored and has all modern appliances yet has kept its 1930's ambiance and roots. From the quaint front room to the three bedrooms and spacious and well apportioned kitchen to the nice deck and water feature it offers a quiet get away from all the business of the downtown commercial appeal, yet only a short walk away. Rent kayaks and canoes at the beach, have fun at the parks or hop on CDA's extensive bicycling and running trail just minutes walk from the front door.
A short drive to the east and you are in the renowned Silver valley, a few miles north and you will arrive at Silverwood Theme Park and a little farther you will be a Schweitzer ski area.
Whether your stay is a few days or a week this is your best location to see it all.

I loved the cottage the moment I saw it, and as we walked through the house, I loved it more and more. It is cozy, but not cramped. Nicely updated and tastefully decorated, with a well-equipped kitchen. The backyard was a pleasant surprise. Although no grass for kids to play in, it has a beautiful stone water feature, as well as a large hot tub. When we had a minor glitch with the hot tub, we appreciated that Glen was quick to respond and come fix it. We’d love to return.

This is the second time that my husband, our fur baby, and I have stayed at Glen’s house. We had another wonderful trip! The location is fantastic as it is within walking distance to the lake, parks, restaurants etc. The house has everything that we needed and the fenced backyard is just great! We will definitely be back!

We are very familiar with CDA so we knew that this is house would be a great location. We walked downtown each day(10-15min) and walked the dog on the trail along the river in the mornings. House was very clean! I could tell deep cleaning had been done. Kitchen was well stocked. Bed was comfy. Nice little back yard with one of the better hot tubs we’ve had at a vacation rental.

Great location to walking trails. Close to the lake, Spokane river and Cedars floating restaurant. The use of the hot tub was nice after a cold, windy walk along the lake.

The lake is really close. There is a wonderful trail for running/walking about 2 blocks away. We really enjoyed our time there!

We had an amazing stay at this little cottage! The girlfriend and I took plenty of walks through the neighborhood. So much character to see, not to mention in the cottage itself. It’s also within walking distance to tubs hill and the centennial trail. Was just the 2 of us but the area and cottage all appeared to be incredibly accommodating to families. We cooked most of our meals ourselves, at the cottage, so having the essentials there was amazing! We even did a valentines night cruise and were able to walk to the boardwalk. Would absolutely recommend! And as you can assume, the hot tub was sooooooo nice after walking to tubs hill and doing the hike!

We had a perfect getaway. Host was attentative but not intrusive. The location was perfect, even with small children we were able to walk anywhere we wanted to go. There is a beautiful kids walking path and giant playground just around the corner. The property is comfortable and clean and furnished with high quality furniture. We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you for everything!

This was my family's first time to Couer d'Alene and we were not disappointed. The house was so welcoming and we felt comfortable immediately. Very clean, with plenty of space and all the amenities. We were in a charming, quiet neighborhood with a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and parks. We would definitely stay here again. Bonus: Owners are very accommodating and seem like very kind people

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and had everything we needed, the bed was super comfortable, the backyard was beautiful and great for bird watching. The host was very friendly and communicative. The location was excellent. We would love to stay again in the future!

We travel extensively and this was one of those properties that was even better than expected. Very clean, perfect location to downtown CDA and even bigger thank expected. We have two small/medium terriers and the back fenced yard was great for them to explore. The house was very cozy with anything you could possibly need including a gold filter for the coffee. The living room has a great fireplace and the bed in the master is very comfortable. Very nice quiet neighborhood, great for walking our dogs and close to the lake. Highly recommend and will stay there again for our next visit to the area.

Great property. Very well maintained. The only disappointment was no cable or satellite and only one small TV in living room. Other than that excellent cottage. I would recommend this property. ( just make sure you have access to Netflix or Prime Video etc.)

The cottage was an excellent base for our long weekend in Coeur d'Alene. The place is clean and very well-kept with comfortable beds, a cozy living room, and a well-stocked kitchen. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub and the fireplace. We also appreciated how close the cottage is to the lake, bike path, local parks, and a very easy walk to downtown. Great location! Glen is a wonderful host, that is easy to reach if anything comes up. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful cottage! Quiet neighborhood located central to everything in CAD. Very clean and very cozy! It had more than all the basics in the kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms. Communication was great! And the hot tub was an amazing bonus. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. I’m fact, my son has already requested we do next time we are in town!

We loved our stay in the Green House. It was well supplied in the bathroom, kitchen and laundry room. The location was perfect For walking downtown and to the lake. The hot tub was an extra bonus and the king bed was comfy.
