The restaurant staff at breakfast were awfull. I was given a very cold responce when i asked for an extra hash brown as i dont eat meat.
I had to ask for a refil of tea and was treated like a 3rd class citizen.

Location, bed was comfy, staff very friendly and they sorted out the meal situation eventually satisfactorily.parking available at the back and said I could leave it there for the day even though I had checked out which I thought was very good.
I didn't like the fact that the booking.com website for Somerset Hotel does not explain that when booking room only you wouldn't have access to the restaurant in the hotel as it is only for daishs or robinsons package holidays.!quite upsetting as even if you book a travel lodge or a Premier Inn you know you are getting a pub attached that will cater for your stay. I had only booked it to join friends for 2 nights who had booked for the turkey and tinsel package. Luckily the restaurant did have space for me when I got there but the thought of having to have my meals on my own outside of the hotel was quite stressful!

Sea view rooms, comfortable and clean and freindly helpful staff.
WiFi was awful and only available in reception and TV was too small for the room.struggled to read anything when sitting in bed.

Location was excellent
Hotel room was dirty. Actually found a packer of roast chicken and some cheese in a drawer and used tissues in another. Wasted tgis would be cleaned but still wasn't done until the morning. Staff treated us differently because we weren't part of a coaching holiday

Helpful staff. Car parking was available

The location was great, close to everything
We couldnt order a breakfast as we didnt book direct with hotel,we didnt even get the choice or was told of this when booked, there was no fan and no pressure in the shower

Had a lovely room with sea view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Evening entertainment was good.

Excellent Location on the beautiful Promenade. Hotel looks lovely outside , downstairs areas clean and fresh ( really old-fashioned though ) Probably caters well for for its usual elderly coach trip guests ,
Awful twin room ( 226 ) TINY BEDS ,VERY VERY UNCOMFORTABLE ( we are not big people but unable to EVEN turn in bed or we would fall out !!!! ) Overlooking car park - window filthy . Room very hot but window only opened a couple of inches so no real ventilation. Room VERY DEPRESSING , GLOOMY AND DESPERATELY NEEDS UPDATING. Lady on reception desk was totally confused on our arrival- thought we had booked 3 rooms not 2 ,!!!! same lady on check out couldn't be bothered to look up when speaking -- ' Just pointed to where we drop off key ' !!! Confusion over breakfast - we thought it was inclusive but was ABRUPTLY told my a ?? European manager that it was not and tables were allocated to coach trips - we could not be accommodated- however, this was a good thing as breakfast tables were set up ready with cereal in bowls , juice in the glass ( an elderly care residential home setting springs to mind unfortunately) .Car parking facility offered free but limited and DIFFICULT if car is large- parking is free on the Promenade in the early evening and overnight-- WE WERE NOT TOLD THIS BY THE HOTEL - THE MANAGER WATCHED US STRUGGLE to park the car in the car park !!!!! This hotel appears to cater mainly for elderly coach trips , other guests not in that category are irrelevant- THANKFULLY we had only booked one night ....

Staff really friendly and helpful. Swapped the room without a problem. The view from the second room really nice. Location excellent
Rooms and hotel was awful. We checked in to 3rd floor room which was dreadful. Sink in the room, not a lot room to move, decor shocking like they are still stuck in 70's. Dirty, big bird crap on the window. Awful l smell in the room. Had to ask for a swap. Hotel made for elderly definitely not for families or single people. The 3rd floor rooms window open wide so definitely not safe for kids. Shocking how they could put us in that room knowing we got kids.

The location was great. You can walk out straight to the beach and the views were great. There were also a lot of shops and restaurants near by.
We found the staff quite rude and weren’t helpful. We checked in and put some belongings into our room before going out to the shops to grab some food. When we returned to our room, our stuff had been taken out and some one else’s luggage was in the room. We were then moved to another room which wasn’t great at all. There was no soap at all in the bathroom to use when washing hands. The rooms weren’t soundproof so you could hear all noises such as seagulls outside and the music down in the bar. We saw online you could buy a breakfast pack for £5. When we asked the staff for this they refused to give this to us and said it was only available for those on the coaches holiday. The rooms were clean which was good however they were very outdated and didn’t have basic amenities. I was dissatisfied with our stay and it wasn’t worth the money we paid.

Great location, Staff are amazing. Great entertainment. Nice layout, easy access for disabled. We plan to return.

Everything was greathaving

Location was great, free car park, very friendly and polite staff
Free WiFi didn’t seem to work
3.4
Excellent location right on the esplanade, easy to find & parking at rear of hotel, easy flat access to high street shops. The staff were friendly & helpful & we thought the hotel was good value for money.
We couldn't get wi fi signal in our basement room & the phone in the room didn't work. Also we couldn't buy meals at the hotel. Sometimes there was quite a lot of noise from the outside. Two of the towels provided were stained, but promptly replaced.

No breakfast available
The room was the attic with velux window I wanted a room with a view
Very dated property
Expensive for one night
£88 a night too expensive for the attic room
Small velux windows
Very dated hotel

The room was very small and the layout could have been better, the hotel in general needs a major overhaul as it is very dated.
The bed sheet was too small to pull over me and I am only 5 foot 3. The tv was very tiny and you had to look from a side angle to see it instead of it being on the wall in front of the bed. There was limited tea and coffee making facilities and no phone in the room.
Location is very good but I am not sure if I would stay again If we were in the area.
The car park was good although spaces were very tight to park.
Please see above comments

The staff were very friendly and dealt with very demanding guest extremely well
We weren't asked or informed about the breakfast policy whether we had to pay for it or I'd it was included
3.4
All the staff were really good; bar staff remembered my drink and room number (sometimes when I couldn't!!) and the location is brilliant.
Breakfast times were limited - only between 0800 - 0830. I think it was because they deal mainly with tours which get out quite early. I like a lay-in so never actually sampled breakfast. Plenty of places nearby to get later breakfasts if necessary (Wetherspoons is about five minutes even with Mum!)
