Staff were friendly, polite and efficient. Our room was clean and comfortable. Both the evening meal and breakfast were delicious. The location was perfect for a walk up Dunkery Beacon and to Snowdrop Valley.
The only thing we didn't like was the big, noisy extractor fan outside our bedroom window. It was fine with the window shut but room was very warm for us and we opened the window. However that would not stop us staying there again, even in the same room as was a minor problem.

The staff were friendly. Arrived too late for dinner but was offered a sandwich which was most welcome. A hearty breakfast, very well cooked and didn’t take long to arrive at the table after pre ordering the night before. A good all round stay.

Spent a warm, cosy night and then enjoyed the delicious breakfast. There's also beautiful views.

The location is very good. And the breakfast was very good indeed.
Staff very good. Our room and bed were small, and all we could hear was the aircon fans for the fridges.

Excellent breakfast with enough choice. The location is good for exploring all over Exmoor and visiting Minehead etc. We were made very welcome by Eric, Caroline and the team and nothing was too much trouble.
We liked everything

Lovely country pub but, surprisingly, no outside garden. Overall the BnB and breakfast were ok

Lovely pub and very friendly staff. It wasn't the most comfortable bed but fine for one night. Loved the pinneaple cheesecake.
The hot water in my bathroom wasn't working had to take a cold shower which isn't the best feeling after a 28km hike.

The rooms we had were adequate. Bath towels were changed every day and clean cups provided etc. The breakfast choices and the food at breakfast and evening meals were excellent.
Both rooms and the overall decor could have done with a refresh and some new carpet. There was an annoying intermittent fan going on and off all night which interrupted our sleep.

excellent communication with the hosts prior to and during our stay,
fantastic location,
we stayed for 4 nights and the shower was sooo nice and hot - just what we needed after long hikes,
we left for hikes very early so only ate once:
the vegan curry for dinner was delicious and so was the breakfast - loved the fresh bread and mushrooms!
kettle in the room very useful,
two large tables and storage space in the room is great,
3 EV chargers at the large car park,
we had a wonderful holiday all was just perfect thank you :)
would definitely return when in the area again and can highly recommend!

Breakfast fine, exactly as ordered. If taking an evening meal go for the game stew.
I stayed 2 nights during some very cold weather
I stayed 2 nights during some very cold weather. The heating in the room coped, but there was effectively none in the bathroom. I didn't mind particularly, but some might.
In the morning my car was in deep frost, and the road down to Dunster treacherous. None of that any fault of the pub of course, just a feature of the location. Be careful if it's cold!

Nice friendly staff, happy to help. Great breakfast
The kettle in the room was for too big to fit under the sink to fill. I had to go down to the bar to ask them to fill it for me. The noise from the music in the bar was a bit annoying when trying to get to sleep as I had an early start the next morning, which was the main reason for my stay.
