I didn't get to spend much time in the property as I was working a lot but from what I spent there it was lovely. Very warm and welcoming. If I was to visit the area again I would definitely stay here.
Nothing really

Interesting property, nice staff, made welcome from first arrival.
No comments ro make.

I liked the warm atmosphere and ambience. Owners are welcoming, and accommodating. The bed was really comfortable and I had 3 nights of well earned rest after working 12 hour days. All the facilities I used worked with no hitches and it was above all peaceful. Brilliant location for me and a great location to see the nearby towns or staying, like me, for work reasons. Overall will defintely recommend and use again for either business or pleasure.
It was warm, comfortable, peaceful and a good location, I had option to use the kitchen, so ticked all my boxes, therefore nothing I didn't like.

It was just where I wanted it to be
I didn’t get to met the owners dogs I was really looking forward to seeing them
I would have given a higher mark if I had

Lovely location with very friendly hosts. This property fitted my needs perfectly. Really felt welcomed, and had the added bonus of meeting 2 beautiful dogs!
The only downside was the WiFi was very patchy and I was unable to catch up on my paperwork. Not a major issue though.
4.3
Breakfast is not provided at this location, however there is a kitchen open to all for self cooking. However it felt uncomfortable as you had to pass through the owners sitting room to access it !
Parking is safe in this quiet location as there are guard dogs present
As I have said above, no breakfast

Quirky, friendly staff

The location was perfect for our trip, the hosts were brilliant and very friendly, they were very helpful. Spent about 3 hours talking to them in the kitchen whilst having a beer. I would stay here again the place is great.

Very friendly host. Basic needs catered for. If you just need basic, this is ideal at a good price. Lovely old house which Emily is trying to keep on top of, not easy. However kept clean and tidy. 2 lovely guard dogs. Which are kept under control. At least vehicles are safe with these present.
Did not dislike anything.

The room was comfortable and clean, the owners were very friendly and helpful on arrival.
Getting clear communication and access to my car was a challenge. There is a long list of Don'ts in the rules with long explanations as to why. A short list of Do's, where if assistance is required we were to phone the owners for assistance. I feel the owners should be more visable and on hand with their establishment. I waited till 10:30 on my 1st morning before I saw the owners, at that point I had made other arrangements and checked out.
4.3
Lovely friendly guesthouse in perfect location for pottering around on bikes. The hosts' local knowledge was very useful. Being able to use the family kitchen to make breakfast felt a little odd but we were positively encouraged to so and was good not to be held to a particular time.
More coffee in the room would have been nice!

This exceptional location is truly magnificent, and it is well managed by its caring owners. My room provided a remarkably comfortable retreat with breathtaking views that surpassed all expectations. The owners' attentive and personalised care throughout my stay made me feel truly welcome. However, what truly elevated my visit was the unforgettable encounter with the two Wolf dogs, which added a brilliant dimension to the overall experience.
Liked it all!

The room was very comfortable, with nice clean linen and towels. The view was great. Being in the attic was wonderful. The bathroom was spacious and cleaned to a high standard. The owners were very friendly and helpful. When we arrived Emily was on hand to help us find a place to lock up our bicycles. The freedom to come and go with our own keys was useful. The best discovery of the weekend was Woodchester Park, literally a stroll up the lane from the property. A stunningly beautiful place. Ask Emily for details.
The mixing of the owners living/cooking space is awkward, and the level of cleanlinees and decor in the bedroom and bathroom aren't reflected in the rest of the house. Admittedly, Emily is in the process of addressing that issue, but there is a lot to do. The front door, porch and back garden particularly give a bad impression when you first arrive, and the accommodation is better than they suggest on first arrival. We love dogs, but having two wolfhounds with free access to the guests' communal areas is unnerving, even though they were well behaved and Emily controlled them well. Other guests might not be as comfortable, or actually frightened. A couple of dedicated bicycle spaces, rather than an ad hoc arrangement would be great. Having said all that, it is important to say we did enjoy our stay overall, and these issues didn't ruin our weekend.

I found the host to be exceptional and a like minded woman, along with her mother, which hugely added to my stay. Emily was kind, very accommodating and helpful and her mother a delight. The room and bathroom were spacious and totally ideal to my needs. In all, it was 'home away from home'. I highly recommend it.There was nothing I didn't like
There was nothing I didn't like: all my needs were met.
Gradual improvements are being done, in a sympathetic way to the guests, to add to the place.

The hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The dogs were lovely. Good location. Spacious room and access to a pool table. It was good to have use of a kitchen and a dining room. Very old, quirky, characterful building, room was very quiet. Secure parking on site.
The room was cold, no heating working. They were getting used to a new boiler. Even when our host said they would turn it on, nothing happened and it was still chilly. The kitchen was described as being shared with other guests, but actually it was the host's kitchen that the guests could use as well. We had to pass through their private sitting/ dining room to get to it from the main house, which felt a bit awkward although they seemed fine with the arrangment. A bit of attention to detail was lacking - no safety mat for the over bath shower, soap dispenser was empty, only one side of the toaster worked and the TV remotes were very hit and miss!
4.3
very friendly and welcoming by a family who was helpful and thoughtful of my needs. The property was old and full of character but fully functioning and up to date. The only criticism was the wifi connection kept dropping out otherwise a perfect and delightful stay.
4.3
The breakfast was take your own, which we knew and we more than happy with the arrangements. The Wolf Dogs were both friendly and my wife is scared of big dogs, but you wouldn't have known with how she played with them. Even when any of the family weren't there, they were still fine.
Emily was faultless with regards to dealing with any queries/issues and even drove us into Nailsworth instead of booking a taxi.
Just to inform everybody, there is a Park & Ride for Forest Green FC very close to the Laurels.
Nothing really. we couldn't get the radiator to work in our room at the very top of the house, (They have recently had new boilers fitted, so they were still adjusting the heating) but to be fair we never mentioned it to Emily as it didn't bother us. The last night we used an extra blanket and we were snug as bugs and the bed was very comfortable.

Staff were fantastic. The atmosphere was great. The hosts were chatty and welcoming. Definitely use again.

Fabulous setting and the hostesses were soooo welcoming and informative ... like a home from home really enjoyed my stay.
Wasn't really anything to dislike.
4.3
Lovely location. It was room only which the hosts made clear on the booking printout but access to the kitchen was available when needed and it was well organised with the guest's own cupboard and shelf in the fridge. Microwave and cooker can be used by the guests when they want.
Sometimes the heating was on the bedroom.

very convenient location . suited my purpose , somewhere to sleep, shower and change
room was a little musty and cold overnight

They rroom was clean and tidy
Poor network coverage and no wifi as described

Breakfast was not provided, but there was use of the kitchen with fridge and cupboard space for what you wanted to make for yourself. Most of the time I was told to leave my dishes on the side and they would be loaded into the dishwasher.
Street lighting was not available outside the property, but the owner had advised me to bring a torch as it was very dark on the road. The porch was always illuminated so you could find the front door.
