About this house rental
Just steps from historic Crawford Square and a short stroll to vibrant River Street, Andrew’s Townhouse puts you at the center of Savannah’s celebrated Landmark District. The 1872 home’s new owner has repurposed the historic property into a comfortable and tastefully furnished abode for Savannah’s visitors. Carefully appointed and freshly painted, Andrew’s Townhouse embodies the essence and characteristics of today’s Hostess City properties: history, comfort, elegance and location. We operate with enhanced cleaning procedures and flexible policies.
Victorian-era architecture and a bright red door welcome you to Andrew’s Townhouse. Inside, the high ceilings trimmed in gold paint are breathtaking. The foyer opens to a spacious double parlor, now the living and dining areas, which are furnished for function and aesthetics -- a pleasing mix of traditional and contemporary pieces. The décor is simple yet engaging, enhancing the many fine original details of this nearly 150-year-old home. High ceilings and chandeliers descending from ornate medallions are typical of Savannah’s historic residences. South-facing windows invite in the sun’s golden rays, illuminating the lovely patina of the original heart-pine floors. Eclectic, comfortable and understated furnishings give a nod to Southern Hospitality. (There’s even a vintage leather-topped Wurlitzer piano!)
Many fine and casual restaurants are within walking distance, but you may choose to prepare some meals or pack picnic lunches for an afternoon at Forsyth Park or Tybee Island Beach. Our kitchen is fully equipped, with a gas stove and oven, full size fridge, dishwasher, microwave, pots, pans, utensils, and dishwasher -- the essentials for basic meal prep. Coffee maker, tea kettle, and electric hand mixer make fixing breakfast a breeze. Dishes, glassware and flatware are provided. Just bring your food and drink. Kroger is a five-minute drive, and Whole Foods will take you about 15 minutes. Dine inside at the period-appropriate table and chairs for six, with extras for guests, or alfresco at the café table for two on the private back deck.
Andrew’s Townhouse sleeps six in beds, and is ideal for families, friends and small groups. There is Wi-Fi throughout the house, a 30” flat screen TV in each bedroom and a 35” flat screen TV in the living room. The accommodations offer guests privacy as well as open common spaces for socializing without stepping on one another’s toes. The open double parlors enable some people to dine while others converse or relax on the super-comfy sectional. It’s a perfect combination of spaces.
We have three bedrooms. A first level bedroom features a queen bed and en suite full bath with a shower. Upstairs are two larger bedrooms – one with a queen bed, the other a king -- and a shared full bath with both shower and claw foot tub. Dry off with fresh, plush towels; shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided. The king room features a charming built-in study space, ideal for planning activities, journaling or (if necessary) checking emails and texts. All beds have high-quality mattresses and bedding, and each bedroom has a roomy closet, with an extra blanket. All bedrooms have a 30” flatscreen TV.
Pack light. The full-size front-loading washer and dryer are downstairs, and laundry detergent is provided. Just be sure to bring a good pair of walking shoes. Most visitors do a lot of walking, and a lot less driving than they expect.
Park your vehicle on-site in the gated area behind the house. The parking/back area opens to a lane, so you are not pulling out into traffic. (There is no parking in the lane.) Three houses down is free parking on Liberty Street; and there is additional metered parking throughout the area. Passes may be purchased in advance from the City’s parking services office.
But outside of trips to Tybee Island, with its wonderful sandy beaches, or perhaps a drive through Ardsley Park to see the early 1900s mansions along Victory Drive, you may find you’re not using your car. Just walking a few blocks will get you to Colonial Park Cemetery, Broughton Street (the main retail-and-restaurant street), Lucas Theatre, River Street, Jepson Center for the Arts, and more. People who love to walk can basically cover the Landmark and Victorian Districts, including Forsyth Park, with ease.

Great location and very good property for a larger group. We were in town gor a family event and groups staying at different locations. Our stay was at the perfect location to get together with everyone around town.

We loved our stay! It is very spacious. It has lots of items available that I did not expect (toilet paper, paper towels, coffee, filters, etc…) There were 6 of us & the hot water was hot for all of to shower in a row! That is a huge plus. Everything was clean & organized. Having a parking spot was AMAZING as parking is terrible in Savannah! It was a tight turn to get into the parking spot but after parking a few times it was no big deal. Perfect location! Friendly & helpful hosts! Would stay again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A group of 6 long time friends that are all turning 75 this year chose to celebrate in Savannah. This house was close to everything on our list and spacious enough for us to congregate when we wanted to stay in. The beds were comfortable-the downstairs bedroom is a bit small and needs a bedside table on both sides of the bed for sharing. Moving the toilet paper cabinet from the bath for this purpose and also the piano bench for additional suitcase room worked well. Most things were within a mile or two and we Ubered multiple times a day-the week total per person including the transfer from the airport was $60 each. The kitchen is small but well equipped. We fixed coffee and breakfast and reheated leftovers. The full sized refrigerator was useful for everyone's choice of drinks fruit and snacks-be sure to bring ziplocs, foil or wrap if you plan to cook anything requiring refrigeration. Hop On Off was a great start to get bearings. The Mercer Mansion tour was a must-we watched the movie after the tour and enjoyed seeing the rooms-the gift shop there was better than the tourist souvenirs in the shops near River Street. Lunch at Mrs. Wilkes was wonderful Southern food-getting there at 10 for an 11 seating was okay during the week. Our special meal was at the Pink House and did not disappoint-the flounder was incredible. River House was great and the HH at Sorry Charlies was the best. Ice cream at Leopolds is also a must. Highly recommend a stay here.

This property had all we needed. It was a clean and thoughtfully decorated place with ample space for us. The place had the look & feel of historic Savannah. It is centrally located which is convenient, but sometimes traffic noise is apparent - which is to be expected for the location. We would stay again if we needed to!

We spent 4 nights in this well-equipped, beautifully furnished house. The two upstairs bedrooms shared a bathroom and the downstairs bedroom had an en suite bathroom that also had a door to the living areas. The location was convenient and we easily walked to River Street and City Market. We would stay here again.

Very nice property, clean, comfortable and quality amenities/provisions. Lovely historic home in a very convenient location. I didn't move my car for 4 days and walked everywhere! We had wonderful food, great tours, and love all the peaceful squares in the city. Will definitely choose this again the next time we visit Savannah.

The house was beautiful, keeping some of it's historic components like woodwork, the staircase, floors but bathrooms and kitchen updated. It was easily within walking distance of River Street, all of the Historic District and the Shopping District, and tons of restaurants. The parking behind the house was a bonus.

Good size bedrooms and living area. Off-street parking is convenient. Great location for walking. Only complaint is street noise from busy road.

We enjoyed our stay and it was perfect for the weekend wedding we attended. There is near street parking if you have more than one car. The downstairs room was nice for my elderly father in law to sleep in. The whole house was exceptional!

Clean, well-equipped. A great location. Beautiful house with lots of character. Easy to walk everywhere. Great having a parking space.

Very cute historic home w modern amenities, comfortable walking for most historic district attractions (most within a mile each direction). Property manager was easy to reach & responded quickly to my morning text about a non-operational coffe maker (you're welcome future guests!). We loved having private & gated parking for our trip. Awesome stay, and we would definitely book again when we come back to Savannah.

Very comfortable. Great location close to downtown. Off street parking is a plus. Walkable to all the downtown attractions.

The property was amazing, beautiful, and gives that Southern Charm. We walked almost everywhere. It can be a long walk to some places but it is doable. Lots to do in the historic district. Very beautiful.

The historical house close to everything in downtown at an excellent price was just what we wanted. Had a fabulous time!

Great spot, easy to get to everything, having a parking spot in back was great. Very nice, nothing fancy, great place to stay.

This was a nice house, easy to find. It had all of the essentials that one would need while staying for a few days. The beds were comfortable, plenty of towels and toilet paper, etc. We didn’t use the outdoor space since it was raining most of the time, but it was a cute little spot.
I would caution visitors that Broad Street can get a little loud, especially on the weekend so be aware of that. Also the HVAC in the house needs some improvement as there is only one panel downstairs. We had to keep the heat down to about 68 which unfortunately made the downstairs chilly but the second floor was uncomfortably warm; my husband had to sleep on the couch downstairs. Overall, I would stay again if the windows were able to be opened and/or the HVAC was improved.

We loved the home and there was plenty of room. Great to have on sight parking too. It was walkable but not right downtown so probably quite in comparison. The room at the front of the house did have a lot of street noise but that's the only negative which was pretty minor. We definitely recommend this property!

The location was perfect for us for a Thanksgiving visit. 3 doors down from my sister's home. Great neighborhood--ran down to Forsyth Park one morning, and took a lovely walk down to riverfront. Townhouse was very clean. beautifully appointed, and perfect for my 2 teenagers and myself. The kitchen was well-equipped enough for me to prepare the two side-dishes I was bringing to dinner. Check-in was a breeze, and check-out very reasonable

We had an issue with the smell of gas at the property which the manager later confirmed. We were told no one could come due to it being Veterans Day and that we had to find another place to stay. We are still waiting on a full refund. While the property was beautiful, I can’t condone staying here as we had to leave due to safety issues and have still not received our money back.

This house was super clean when we arrived. The home was really cozy as well. We felt safe being close to the historic district. Also, 5 stars to the property manager for going our of her way to bring us a spare key, since we locked ourselves out. Definitely recommend this spot!

Three of us stayed in your lovely home to celebrate a very long friendship. We met in kindergarten and have remained close for almost 70 years. We walked a lot! But the house was very well situated and had all the amenities we could want. It was especially nice to have a parking place.

Clean, had everything we needed for an early October stay. Good location, 10-15 minute walk to middle of historic section of Savannah.

I was impressed with the ease of check in /out. Very clean property with all of the essentials we needed for our long weekend stay.

Beautiful property and location to all the restaurants and river walk! Walking distance to many of the places we visited! Property was very clean and had all our needs!

Great house! Easy walk to restaurants and shopping. Beds were very comfortable

Property was clean and convenient. Short walk to everything we wanted all weekend. Parking only for one car, not sure if we missed that on the initial listing but made due. The Wi-Fi was out when we arrived. Property manager responded immediately and the owners stopped by that night to try a new router. Never got it working during our stay but appreciate the responsiveness.
Note to others: download the “downtowner” app for FREE pm rides in Savannah. We learned about it from a trolley driver on our second day. Hosts maybe you can mention it somewhere in the property :)

The property to use a little mending and tending. Otherwise it was okay. Not quite sure but one of our guests wish you were there was a hidden camera. The biggest issue was...there was a cat that cried and howled all night....all night every night of our vacation stay ...we don't know if the cat was hurt hungry or what have you... I believe he was under the porch off the back deck. We never saw him we just heard him first we thought it was somebody's child crying in the first night. But it continued on for the next 3 days. It was a nice location it was actually a nice home the floors just could have used a little work and just a little mending and tending here and there. Otherwise, it was okay.

Nice stay thank you!

The property was just as expected! A great place for my husband, two teenage daughters and me. The Riverwalk was about a 15-20 min straight walk from the house as were many restaurants and shops. The parking spot was a great bonus as parking in Savannah can be hard to come by. Perfect place for my family and me for our short getaway, would stay here again!

Our family had more than enough space to enjoy each other and enough personal space to spread out. House was clean and comfortable. Only cons we have is that we didn’t realize there was only 1 parking space. If you’re traveling in separate cars this can be very inconvenient looking for street parking every night.

I loved the towels and bed linens and I can’t say that about the other two VRBO listings I used in the same week. House is beautiful and has every creature comforts. Hot water, TV, and comfy beds for when you get back from a long day walking around Savannah. Everything was a very quick Uber or a 15-20 minute walk for those more adventurous.

Property was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We felt comfortable and property manager was so helpful and communicative!

Spacious and beautiful, enjoyed the city and touring. House is beautiful. Bring a couple of good pair of walking shoes. We walked miles and miles daily. Loved the house but the street noise and neighborhood across the road is very loud at night.

Overall great stay, need a/c vent in down stairs bedroom.

This was a “pilgrimage” to the birthplace of Girl Scouts. We had a wonderful stay and no problems. Beds were comfy, everything was clean, showers worked well and had plenty of hot water for all 5 of us. We do have 2 minor recommendations. We would suggest the washer to be cleaned as it has some mildew in the door. We know that front loaders often have this problem but it’s due for some cleaning. We also wished we had some basic cleaning items to help us with a few things as we were there several days. There was degreaser spray that we used on the stovetop but we wished for some mild all-purpose cleaner for the table and counters. I would highly recommend this location and would happily stay again if ever in the area.

We enjoyed our time in Andrew’s townhome. We loved its historic charm and the ability to walk throughout the historic area in just a matter of steps. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We stayed for a bachelorette weekend getaway. Although it rained the whole time we were there the location was close to everything walking and what we didn’t walk we were able to get Ubers. Love the house and was very clean!
5.0
The property was exactly as advertised. Plenty of space for two parents and two young adult kids. We didn't spend much time there, because the weather was perfect and Savannah is a beautiful city to explore. Loved having a secure parking space. Loved being within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. As others have mentioned, the street noise on E. Broad is a bit overwhelming at times (mostly morning and afternoon rush hours), hence the 4 stars for neighborhood, but it didn't interfere with sleep too much, and we felt safe. Overall, we'd stay here again and we recommend it to other small groups.
