Very cosy cottage with great parking walking distance to busy Bourton-on-the-water. Comfortable beds and loved making a fire! The welcome hamper was also excellent.
A little tired in places, but that's understandable for an old cottage that is also a rental

The accommodation was excellent! The beds were super comfy and the house was really well equipped. The garden furniture and recliners were a bonus as the weather was glorious and we could sit out late into the evening. The location was perfect, just a 5min walk along a leafy lane to the the village.
The smell in the en-suite coming from the shower was bad, although we soon realised if we turned the shower on for a few minutes each evening it would prevent the drains drying up and the sewer smell returning. Also the 3 chopping boards in the kitchen were past their best and needed replacing

Walkable distance from Nearby attractions and pleasant stay with family
Nothing in particular

Lovely setting and easy parking off road. plenty of seating in the garden and secluded.
Beds were lovely and comfortable.
Easy walking distance to Bourton
Some of the fittings in the house need sorting. Like the light switch in the en suite , letterbox on front door etc...

Great location, lovely house, we made use of the bbq in the back patio area which was great.

We really enjoyed our stay at Darly Cottage which is a lovely three storey Cotswold stone property just ten minutes safe walk from the centre of Bourton and has parking for three cars.
The house is very nicely presented with four lovely bedrooms, a good kitchen and spacious dining area. It has two really nice sitting rooms, although both are smallish so not easy for a large party to all sit together.
If you are there in the summer there is an enclosed garden and also a rear courtyard for sitting out etc
It is a traditional old house, and we were staying at the end of winter, but the top floor rooms were quite cold and at times the hot water seemed to be a bit limited.
Also the dining area is very nice in an extension to the kitchen but we couldn't detect any heating in there, although to be fair this didn't stop us using the room.

Cottage was amazing. Very high end cottage in great location.
Nothing.

The cottage is in an amazing location and just a short walk to local restaurants and cafes and the town centre, bourton on the water. We stayed for 3 nights and wish we stayed longer! Gemma was most helpful as a host when we stupidly locked ourselves out one evening and quickly resolved the problem for us. We had a beautiful welcome hamper on arrival which was also greatly appreciated!
The open fire makes a great cosy evening in if you don’t fancy going out too and the cottage has everything you need to live comfortably during your stay. We can’t wait to return!
To be very picky… the cottage could do with a little bit of maintenance but nothing major. The bathroom door handle in the en suite was wobbly which was only a problem as my elderly grandparents were staying in there. The light also had to stay on in that bathroom as it was temper-mental in switching on and off.
I will add that we took a chance in bringing my 3 elderly grandparents, knowing the cottage wasn’t accessible so this was our own fault. It does seem a shame that the 2nd living area isn’t a downstairs bedroom and under the stairs a downstairs loo as this would have been PERFECT for our family.
Similarly, the handle on the top floor double bedroom window was off which didn’t make the window most secure.
Other than that an absolutely beautiful cottage and we can’t wait to return!

very cozy. nice location.
Temperture control in the main bathtub was bit tough.

The property is in a good location with an enclosed area making it safe for young children. The hosts had kindly left out a hamper of drinks and treats which was very kind of them.
It would have been great if there was the option to be flexible with dates and change the non-refundable option on this property. My family had travelled from South Africa to be with us and unfortunately tested positive days before we were due to come. They stayed away to isolate but it was frustrating that we couldn’t enjoy our stay with them as we haven’t seen them for 2+ years. Please consider this to help others in the future.
When we arrived, it was 32 degrees and very hot overnight. It would have been great if some fans were supplied to cool the bedrooms down.

An absolute brilliant stay, keys from lock box were easy to get to, the welcome pack was a truly lovely touch. A very clean, warm and very tidy house, with plenty of room for all. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property in fact we have made up our minds to return in the future.
I wish I could think of three sentences, however I would change anything and cannot fault the house.

check that toilet seat and shower heads work. few more tea towels/ towels would have been nice as we were staying for 3 nights. Hard to find critique as was lovely. My husband and I had to leave early as my mother was rushed into hospital but our friends had a wonderful stay - great thanks to the host

we loved the location of the property
not too much to be honest. showers were slow and plumbing not brilliant but it’s a very old lovely cottage so you can’t expect much more. I probably would get rid of the carpet in the main sitting room. a wooden floor would feel so much cleaner under foot.

the Darly cottage is absolutely flawless!! we loved it! the place was immaculate clean, super charming and cozy. The decoration is beautiful, the beds were very comfortable (had the best night of sleep since ages haha), we wished we could live there haha. we had a great time, and definitely recommend it to everyone.
just the tap water on the sinks. its either freezing cold or burning hot.

We needed a couple of things not available and they were dropped off almost straight away

The location is fantastic for walking, down a path, to Bourton. We stayed with our family six adults and two under 4.
The cottage was equipped with everything we wanted and more. Secure garden for little ones.
The ensuite but we know that this was due to be updated the week after our stay so we're sure it'll be perfect now.
Parking is available but is a bit tricky although we did manage to squeeze 3 cars in the space provided.
Stair gates might have been useful.

Fabulous location
Extremely well equipped, fabulous kitchen
Very spacious
Comfortable beds
No locks on bathroom/ toilet doors
Only 1 shower which was extremely temperamental, not really useable.
A second over bath shower was just a hand held spray. For 6 people this was inadequate
