WELCOME TO... OUR NECK OF THE WOODS!!! Beautiful log cabin in the heart of Valle Crucis! 2/10 of a mile to the Watauga River! 1.6 miles to Mast General Store! ! Close to Moses Cone and Blue Ridge Parkway! 6.4 miles to downtown Boone! 11 miles to Hawksnest skiing, tubing, and zip lining! Minutes from some of the best hiking and fishing in the High Country!!

This dog friendly cabin is wonderfully furnished and decorated to enjoy a true mountain getaway, yet close to local restaurants and shopping. A fully fenced yard will allow you to sit on the front porch as your pet can run free. No weight limit on your pet. Enjoy the views and sounds of Lost Creek as you sit on the screened back porch.

Main floor includes a cozy, well stocked kitchen with 6 person dining table adjacent. A main floor bedroom with a queen bed and full bathroom off the main floor hallway. Living room with stacked stone gas fireplace, HDTV, DVD, and French doors to a screened back porch.

Downstairs includes a second bedroom with a queen bed and a second full bathroom. A custom pool table, fireplace and HDTV. Full laundry room on this level along with a walk out to the hot tub!

Loft upstairs includes bunk beds for kids and a dresser with a half bath.

Property enjoys the views and sounds of Lost Creek running through the property. The creek side fire pit, hammock (seasonal), and screened back porch all enjoy this amazing feature. The fenced and flat front yard is paradise for any dog lover and their friends!

I just cannot say enough about “Our Neck of the Woods”! We have rented many vacation properties in this area and this is our favorite by far. The cabin is beautiful, very clean, and so well stocked. The large fenced in yard was wonderful for our dog. The grandkids loved playing in the creek that runs through the back of the property, and we loved sitting on the back porch listening to the creek and watching the deer. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Thank you to our hosts for the lovely Welcome Basket and for a great week! It was perfect for us!

The cabin was very clean, comfortable and well stocked. Additionally, our lovely hosts had a sweet gift basket for our family. Our dog loved playing with the dog toys and exploring the fenced-in yard. We would definitely stay again. Don't hesitate, book it!

We struggle to have a complete family vacation and include our dogs which is a huge part of our family. The property fit all our needs and more. Fishing was close by as well as golfing and hiking. Owners were great, very communicative and had a beautiful gift basket waiting on our arrival. Highly recommended!

The property is quiet & peaceful located close to many ski resorts & waterfall hiking trails. My boys enjoyed playing by the creek that runs behind the property & making S'mores by the fire pit at night. We brought our fur babies along as well (3 large dogs). The fenced in yard was HUGE and perfect for them to run & play in. The cabin is just as described and pictured. And the property manager is easy to communicate with if you need anything. There was even a customized welcome basket for us upon our arrival! We very much enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return if staying in the area again.

This place was just as advertised. Nice little cabin on a nice piece of property. The owners left us a welcome bag, thank you, and were easily reachable by phone/text. Everything at the cabin was clean and ready to go. No issues at all. We had snow the whole week, and they had sleds there. We had a blast. Close to everything, if you need anything. We were already familiar with the area having been there a few times. Gotta take the back way when it snows!! Nothing was needed at all! We hope to book again next year.

We loved staying at this cabin! So clean and decorated beautifully with lots of simple touches that made it warm and welcoming! The screened porch was so relaxing and enjoyed the campfire and pool table. The owners were quick if we had a question and left us a wonderful welcome basket when we arrived! It’s obvious they really care about their guest. The WiFi was very good too. Boone and Blowing Rock aren’t far but navigating the traffic there is tough. We couldn’t find a place to park in BR. The 2 Mast General stores just down the road made up for that. The location is great access to Grandfather Mountain and the BRPway. Views were stunning and explored some hiking areas and got many beautiful pics. We highly recommend this cabin especially if you’re traveling with a pet! Thank you Rodney and Julia for your hospitality!

The log-cabin deacor and the Welcome Basket set the mood for the 5-day stay at Our Neck of the Woods. We traveled to Boone for shopping and a movie and stayed at the cabin to cook outdoors, play pool and enjoy the hot-tub. Internet service allowed us to participate in our LifeLong Learning classes (which included Yoga). We relaxed by using the rocking chairs on the back porch to read while listening to the bubbling brook. We were refreshed when it was time to head back to Newport News, VA.

If looking for a perfect place for family traveling with dogs this is it! The location is great, close to fun spots in the Valley, but quiet. The cabin is arranged very nice with bedrooms that were very accommodating, adults on main floor, teen in lower level and youngster upstairs. The cabin was well stocked, everything was clean and comfortable. The porches were awesome for morning coffee, and so nice for our dog to have a wonderful yard to explore and chill out too. Even the neighbors are great and helped us one day when our car battery died. I hope we can visit again.

Upon arriving we knew we had found a gem of a place. There was not only the space and amenities needed for our pleasure and comfort, but there was a spirit about the property that was reflective of owners that care. It immediately felt like home and we hope to return.

This house is amazing. The owners are beyond thoughtful. My poodles loved the fenced yard. Even my old 15-year-old poodle managed to run around. And no worries about them wandering off. Creek, hot tub, and fire pit were a big hit with the five-year-old. Secluded enough but close to many attractions. Loved every minute. Thank you Julie & Rodney. I hope to be back soon.

We feel so lucky to have stayed at Rodney and Julie’s incredible oasis in the mountains. First, Rodney and Julie are just the most amazing people- they are so kind, friendly, and genuinely interested in helping you have the best experience possible. We are so grateful to have crossed their paths! The home is everything we could have hoped for- huge fenced-in yard for our two pups with gorgeous crab-apple trees giving some reprieve from the sun, two porches to enjoy being outdoors (one screened in overlooking a babbling brook in the backyard), comfortable sofa in front of the fireplace with comfy blankets to curl up, good water pressure with the shower and plenty of hot water for multiple showers in a row!, plenty of space and everything you could need for the kitchen, comfortable bed, super clean, and close proximity to town and hikes (only about 12 mins to Boone). We honestly didn’t have much reason to leave! It was a little piece of heaven. Rodney and Julie go above and beyond to make it special. Thank you!

We love this cabin and the owners. They are awesome. The large dog fence and all the amenities make it nice. The owners are so nice and message back quick. They try to accommodate every guest. The Cabin is clean and well stocked. Our son is in a wheel chair and it is doable for us. He is 16 and we carry him everywhere. The wheelchair does not go inside though unless you carry it. We brought a cot with us for him this year for him to sleep in the living room. He likes it lol! He has cerebral palsy. The steps are not difficult to carry him inside. The owners leave a great welcome basket. We highly plan on coming back next year for a third time in this cabin! It is also between both ski places which makes it nice for my husband and daughter. I stay in the cabin with my son and pups. Great vacation!

The fenced in yard is wonderful. The cabin is very nice and well stocked. The hosts even left an amazing welcome basket for us. The hot tub was great for end of day winding down. Everything was very clean. The hosts were quick to respond to our one question. 10/10 would recommend for anyone but especially for those who travel with their pets.

We travel a lot and hands down, we ALL agreed, that this is THE best place we have ever stayed! The hosts went above and beyond to the point that I almost cried!!! They were just so thoughtful!! The cabin is GORGEOUS, a great location to everything, the beds are comfy and the yard is set up so well for our dogs, it just made the trip so much easier. We will definitely book this cabin again!

The house was very clean and well appropriated. The owners were quick to respond to any questions and the welcome basket was thoughtfully designed - the kids loved the hot chocolate and popcorn. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed and the linens and towels were high quality. The WiFi was quick and reliable. The yard was perfect for our dog and kids. Everything about this property was conducive to a relaxing vacation. Valle Crucis is a quaint town close to Boone and Banner Elk. We hope to stay again.

We had a great week at this cabin. It is equal distance from Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, and Boone, so you can easily visit sites nearby. There is also a park and outdoor restaurant right around the corner, so it was nice having those options close by too. The property and cabin itself were perfect - the cabin is warm and inviting and the surroundings are peaceful and quiet. The owners really do go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and were very responsive to our questions. We felt right at home during our stay and hope to visit again someday!

The property was simply perfect. It was well appointed offering plenty of supplies and a few extras. The first floor master was very comfortable, clean and spacious. This would suit a family as well as couples and accommodated our dog with a large fenced yard. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the cabin and look forward to next year. The hosts insured we had everything we needed and provided great information about the area.

The house was beautiful with great charm. Our family had such a great time and the amenities made it better. The owners left a beautiful basket with a birthday sign for my daughter, snacks for our pup, and a host of snacks including coffee. We would book this house again.

This cabin was just what we needed for our stay while attending a family wedding. The cabin was spotless, comfortable and close to both Boone and Banner Elk. We were relieved to be able to bring our elderly dog and not have to worry about her wandering away due to the sizable, fenced yard. The interior of the cabin was charming with a wonderful country, mountain vibe and everything we needed was already available inside. The owners were very accommodating, taking apart the bunk beds so all the adults were comfortable sleeping. Additionally, a wonderful gift basket was left for us with wine, coffee and yummies! Rent this great cabin, you wont be disappointed!!

We have been coming to Boone for the last 4 years and this is by far the best cabin we have stayed in. Location was great, easy to get to, great parking, very cozy cabin. Extremely clean and well kept up. I am bummed that we just now found this cabin, wish I would have found 4 years ago! But if/when we come back in the future this will be our first choice. Great time.
