About this house rental

Our cottage is right on the edge of the Sheepscot River in the heart of MidCoast Maine. Enjoy expansive water views, amazing sunsets, beautiful walking trails, and a large dock for launching your kayaks. Located at the Sheepscot Harbour Village, it is a short walk to Wiscasset, Maine’s Prettiest Little Village, where you can find delicious food, bakeries, local boutiques, art galleries and the famous Red’s Eats lobster rolls. Just a short drive away are Boothbay Harbor and Damariscotta as well as a number of other small coastal communities each offering something special. Our comfortable home is a welcome retreat from the world and a place to relax after a day of exploring, hiking, boating or any one of the many activities found in this area.

The home's open living area contains a well-stocked kitchen with everything needed to prepare a meal, a generous dining table for 6 and a sitting area with large TV and a wall of windows overlooking the water. Take in the view from this area or head outside through the French doors to bask in the beautiful unobstructed views of the water and the incredible sunsets each night.

Two of the three bedrooms have king sized beds and one has a queen bed. All have a ceiling fan. The first floor master bedroom has an en-suite with a tub/shower combination. The second floor master bedroom has access to a second-story balcony and is perfect for a morning cup of coffee.

On site parking is available. A washer/dryer and complimentary Wi-Fi are provided.

We stayed at Water's Edge for a family wedding. The home was comfortable and well-appointed -- check-in was seamless and communication with the owners was timely and thorough. A trip to Maine is always a treat and we look forward to returning!

This was a trip on our bucket list to see the Maine coast, with our daughter's and granddaughter. The cottage is in a perfect location to see the coast line of Maine from Boston to Acadia! Every day we went out on a day trip and saw so much beauty. The house was perfect. The 3 rooms were great. Our oldest and her little family enjoyed what I would call the almost 2nd master on the 2nd floor. Loved the Balcony in that room because the view was amazing. The Master was so nice. Loved having washer and dryer. The kitchen was equiped amazing. Never traveled before and had such a nicely equipped kitchen. The radiant heat was nice, did keep house warm. Also loved the gas logs. Didn't find the bionaculars until our last day. That's a nice little addition. Also loved that there were essentials available. When you are traveling it is nice to not have to worry about immediately going out and getting trash bag, salt and pepper even paper towels. Also our daugther rented baby essentials and she found the porta crib so it was nice to have one upstairs and downstairs. Beds slept great, and great water pressure in bathrooms. Amazing vacation that we will never forget!

My husband and I had a very relaxing , enjoyable stay at the Water's Edge cottage. It is well appointed, cozy, and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully outfitted with every appliance necessary to make a fabulous meal. The location was perfect for us to visit several quaint towns easily. We will definitely stay here again if we find ourselves returning to Maine.

3 couples shared the house and all were comfortable. The home is beautifully decorated, very well stocked, is in a nice neighborhood, has views, is quiet and secure. Owners were very responsive and all was as advertised. Couldn't have asked for more.

This was a house in a perfect location. It was immaculate and beautifully staged with everything we could need. The owners were quick to reply to questions and to offer help graciously. We had a great time at the cottage. Amazing views, peaceful neighborhood, comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen and beautiful decor. Had a great dinner at Water Street Kitchen & Bar and avoided the line for Reds by going to McLoons and a trip to scenic Owls Head. Jena is an excellent communicator and we would definitely stay here again.

We loved staying on Davis Island in Edgecomb. We could walk to several different places for food and shopping. The beds are comfortable, kitchen well stocked, view is amazing and the neighborhood quiet. Peace and relaxing. We would differently go back. Plus it’s only 20 minutes to Boothbay harbor.

We were here for 2 months, our second stay here and again, everything was perfect. Place is kept immaculate by a great cleaning person. Facilities are excellent, super kitchen, comfortable bedroom and roomy master bathroom. The a/c and overhead fans work great and keeps the entire house cool. The sunsets over the river are beautiful.

Stayed fro 4 weeks and wished we had booked for longer. Beautiful setting overlooking Damariscotta River. House was immaculately kept and everything worked perfectly. Kitchen appliances were excellent and made cooking easy. A/C throughout kept entire unit cool and was needed during hot spells. When there was a minor issue, owner had handy man come immediately to resolve. Already booked for next summer.

This was a lovely house exactly as pictured on the website. Appliances were sparkling new and we appreciated how clean it was in COVID times. It is an odd time to travel but the area is extremely safety conscious and masks were required everywhere. I am a bit used to VRBO homes with area guides and you are on your own here. Owner recommended a great Italian restaurant by email when asked. A few things I would have been happy to know before: the house in in a resort complex with many other cottages. They are close together but quiet. The lawn behind the house is not private but used by the community. There is no outdoor dining table. These are not complaints, just observations. The breeze is great and we never needed the central AC.

What a great week in Maine! We needed to blend work with fun and this house allowed us the best of both. The WiFi was flawless, so we were able to Zoom with ease. The lovely decor, smart TV, and beautiful view made even the rainiest of days enjoyable. We had fun cooking on the charcoal grill and in the clean, well-equipped kitchen. And we loved ending the day in comfy chairs on the patio, taking in the incredible sunset.

Plenty of room on both floors, lots of windows to view the water, trees, boats moored. Very responsive owners even worked very well for 85 year old walker dependent person. Everything you can think of is available in the kitchen and throughout the house.

The home itself is absolutely lovely. The three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths were perfect for a party of five. It is also situated a stones throw from the water. What a beautiful view and setting! Add to I that its excellent geographic location and it made for an absolutely wonderful stay! We would love to return next year!

This cottage is pristine, beautifully decorated, and well-equipped with a scenic location on the water in Wiscasset. Our guests had a wonderful stay and we would happily rent here again! The owners were prompt in communicating with us and quickly refunded us when our needs changed. After all the changes, we were not clear what the last night of our stay was (our fault, not theirs) and as a result were locked out before the owners kindly let us in remotely. We suggest that confirmation emails consistently list exact dates of stay as well as # nights AND the date of departure.

What a wonderful home. We had a great stay! All of the furnishings in the house appeared to be new and high quality. A great location for exploring many parts of Maine, including; Wiscasset, Boothbay Harbor, Pemaquid, and Portland. Would highly recommend and will stay here again
