Great experience, on site property manager and owner were both very helpful. Someone forgot to email the door code to me but the owners answered the phone immediately, and were very helpful. Lots of beach gear was available to borrow, which was great. Kids loved the pool and the neighborhood cats.

Fantastic getaway from it all place
Very nice location and setting. The house is exactly as it appears on the listing. Just pay careful attention to the fact that the beautiful pool is shared with an adjoins much larger property. But aside from that minor item the place is perfect!!!

Not as expected, but still gorgeous
The property was very nice and the views were amazing. While you do get the house to yourself, there is an attached portion where the host stays. The pool is also shared if anyone in the front house is staying there. The pool is deep and seemed minimal chlorine used which is nice but it wasn’t very clean. I did ask the host about cleaning. We could have skimmed ourselves and someone was supposed to come to clean it but it was the pool floor that had stuff at the bottom and was not cleared during our week long stay. The house is very nice and clean and the perfect space for our group. There was a cockroach that liked to hangout at night above the kitchen cabinets. I did inform the host and pest control was to maybe come in and spray. Not sure that happened. It’s a tropical climate so bugs are to be expected but a giant roach was a bit unexpected. Overall it was a good stay. If you don’t go for the pool - or don’t care about debris at the bottom and are ok with some pests, the views are gorgeous and the location is pretty good if you are ok with driving.

Great views, but a few surprises...
We were drawn to the great views and they didn't disappoint. A few things we weren't expecting however:
- There is no air conditioning... and the house gets unbearably hot during the day if its warm out. We wound up leaving to a hotel for the last few nights of our time in Kona due to this...
- The pool in the pictures is down a drive and attached to a different house. If another large group shows up from that house (as happened to us) it won't be near as idyllic as the pictures. Additionally, the pool was not clean. There was floating debris when we arrived and green algae on the sides.
- The hot tub costs an additional $200/wk... so we opted out, only to realize on our final bill that we were charged the
$200 anyways -- and the hot tub was cold. We've made attempts to get our money back for this with no success yet. I will happily update this portion if that changes.
- There is someone living on the property. We were startled when we arrived as the ad didn't prepare us for that. And they use the same washer and dryer as the house being rented, so if the door to the laundry is open, you will see them.
- The grocery store that is supposed to be 3 miles away is actually a small gas station. To get groceries, you have to drive all the way to Waimea (allow 2 hours).
All in all, not a bad house - but not the experience we expected based on the ad here. And that experience continued after we got home and realized we'd been overcharged.

Great house, great location, great experience
I’ve rented this house for 10 days and I’m in love with it. I was blown away by the views, the Patio, and the swimming pool. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need. The location was perfect for morning trips to the beach for snorkeling, afternoon trips in town and day trips to the volcanos and Hilo side of the island. But most of all the place was great for our Family Christmas. I completely recommend this house for your special trip.

Amazing
Grace was a phenomenal hostess. Beautiful house in a perfect location. Close enough to all the beautiful beaches and far enough away to feel secluded. We’ll be back real soon
