Great location. Near enough to walk into Matlock.
Cottage was very homely, well maintained and extremely well equipped to make your stay more enjoyable. Beds were very comfortable. Lots of useful information provided to help with your stay. Great pub nearby for food. Perfect for our short stay.

It was just wonderful. The location in a pretty village, just a 15 minute walk from the centre of Matlock was perfect. Two pubs nearby - we chose The Gate Inn for it's Sunday roast and was delicious.
Then the spotless house itself- we could not fault. It's better equipped than my own house! It looks tiny- it is not! There is everything that you can think of to make the stay comfortable, from a sensory light on the landing to the toilet to all the linen being provided to board games and table to play on! Little treats are left around the house.
Oh and most importantly - the most comfortable beds.
We were cross that we only got to have one night and not a week!
Nothing at all to fault

Very clean on arrival, had all the things you’d need in a house. It was a much better experience than I thought it would be!

all the little extra touches were just so nice. The choccies on the side, the coffee maker even the spare usb charging cables in the kitchen drawer
the heating was too hot. maybe setting the thermostat at 22 degrees would be good in winter, but in summer it’s too much. still it was pretty easy to turn down.

Spotless and very well equipped. Good size.
All was excellent.

I would highly recommend One Church Street. Extremely clean, cosy, amazing facilities. Great location - two lovely pubs in the village and plenty of eateries in Matlock. Martin gave loads of useful info and was a great communicator. Can't fault the whole experience. 5 star all the way

As soon as we entered the cottage it felt like a ‘home from home’
Absolutely nothing to dislike.

The cottage was an ideal size for a 40-year Uni reunion for 3 of us. It is beautifully decorated and beautifully kept. Modern kitchen and bathroom with characterful bedrooms and living rooms. Great walks from the cottage or nearby. Such a relaxing weekend. Thank you

Really cosy & clean with excellent facilities and lovely personal touches like complimentary bottle of wine and even few chocolates. Also everything you would want, eg: teabags, coffee, cooking oil and condiments etc.
Nothing to dislike about the property, only little gripe was parking outside cottage. The 2 places were took but still plenty on street parking which was within 20 yards or so.

The most well equipped cottage we have ever stayed in.

Very cute little cottage, deceptively spacious, well equipped, lovely wood burners, good kitchen and massive comfy bed.
No parking at cottage but we managed to park down a side road most days

it was super cozy and they had really gone the extra mile to make us feel welcome

The level of detail is exceptional. Made to feel very welcome. Very high quality. Detailed instructions. Very comfortable. Loved the fires. Great kitchen with everything you need and more besides. Bosch central heating. Real barista coffee machine. Everything is catered for nicely. The owners have got this just right. Very highly recommended.
Parking was the only thing to note however the owners do provide a diagram of recommended locations around the property which was useful. There are a couple of parking spots right outside the property however they were in use when we arrived. It wasn't too difficult to find another spot further down the road.

Beautiful, quaint cottage with amazing features such as open log fireplaces. High quality furnishings, linen and bedding throughout! super comfy beds! Great location and really kind and friendly owners! Amazing shower with great pressure and the entire cottage was exceptionally clean!
Absolutely nothing!

Such a long list of things! Firstly, the great communication and recommendations from Martin, then the location, the amount of space on the lower floor with the two sitting rooms, the little touches such as the wine and chocolates left for us, all the supplies in the house should something happen. We could go on.
The bedrooms felt a tad dusty in the air and two of us ended up being wheezy after our night's stay. All surfaces and beds were very clean, but we think it may be due to the carpets and curtains.

The cottage was comfortable, clean and has everything you need for your trip.

Helpful owner and notes

Dining table a little low and small but did not detract from great cottage.

One Church Street is in a village location with plenty of local walks. The cottage certainly lived up to expectations and is very well equipped - the beds are very comfortable too! Martin offered lots of useful advice, and he highlighted some places to visit that we wouldn't have thought of!

The spaciousness, exceptional provisions provided, general comfort. The helpfulness of the host was very much appreciated and was extremely useful to get to know the area.
Parking was a bit of an issue as we were not able to park both cars right outside, however there was parking further up the road. This was explained at time of booking.

Beautiful house, very stylish. Little extras make you welcome. Great location to get to lots of sites. Owners very informative before arriving and lots of details on site. Internet great and good Tv options after a long day out (films etc). Highly recommend. Parking on road, with little street opposite for great parking. Nice little village with couple good eateries. The Tavern - lovely small pub serving good beer/wine and pub grub. Gate Inn, bit Chef & Brewer, good food and service.
All was fantastic. Very stylish and little extras to make you feel welcomed.

this is a little gem in a fantastic location. everything was so so clean and welcoming, it felt like home straight away. it was our base for a walking weekend and was brilliantly positioned for walks from the doorstep. after a long walk we came back and used the really good shower, put the fire on which was already made up ready to just light, and had a few hours of relaxing in the lounge. we then walked a few mins up the road to the gate pub for food which was fantastic, and then back to really comfortable beds. the heating in the cottage is brilliant so we always felt cosy. thanks again, we’re already planning a return visit!

very comfortable, nicely furnished. Thoughtful touches- basic kitchen supplies, bathroom toiletries, wood for log burners. A welcome bottle of wine and chocolates
Parking is on street but due to the location of the cottage is not outside- further up the road. But it isn’t a major issue, just a little less convenient.

Lovely cosy cottage. Exceptionally clean with fresh decor. Two wood burners which were much appreciated in the chilly February weather. Everything we could have wanted for our short break. Great location for Peak District. Would also recommend the local pub The Gate Inn which is within walking distance and served delicious food in modern comfy surroundings.

the beautiful interior and lovely log burners, lovely touches left by the hosts that made us feel truly welcome.
we have sat and thought for 5 minutes about this question and we literally cannot think of anything!

It was where we needed to be for a function. It was ready for us early. Lots of extra touches. Lots of space for the price of a hotel room. Satellite TV and another TV in dining room.
Road noise from front bedroom. No parking space with property. Very small outside space. Steep staircase. Very dark property, need lights on.

Cottage was perfect had everything you need
Walking distance pub closed and parking on busy road
