The property was amazing! Well above the expectations beautiful scenery lovey cottage they way this cottage and the gardens have been created are absolutely stunning. The owners of the cottages are very welcoming too and a massive credit to the family for allowing us to share there outstanding premises
4.5
The comfort & views. Felt like a home away from home with breathtaking views outside, even when the weather isn’t great.
only thing we could suggest is that the little garden for visitors could probably do with a little TLC as it’s definitely not looking quite like it does on the advertising pictures anymore.

Immaculate & well equipped. The location was heaven on earth. As for family with a toddler, there was so much to do and explore.

Wonderful location, very remote, stunning view through the window. beds were comfortable with all necessary appliances included. Lovely interior and decorations all over the property and if you lucky you get to meet some farm animals, so that's a nice touch.
It can get a bit cold in the morning and evening, the heating is not on point, it turns on later than stated on the booklet. the shower cabin drainage can be tricky, it get slightly flooded after some time.

Incredible setting for the last 2 nights of our honeymoon. Luxury and comfort. A very special place. Owner was really helpful when I forgot key code.
Would need somewhere to dry outdoor gear if staying longer, dryer or clothes airer. Would be better for just two people so that the view could be maximized from sofa (get rid of the two single beds)

The location was great, the bed was comfy and it has a really nice shower. High quality furnishings.
A few spiders and a bit noisy at night (probably the boiler) but slept well once we got to sleep.

The cottage was spotless and extremely comfortable. The views from the room were beautiful and the outdoor area was a great place to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. Nice touch with the coffee machine too.
There was nothing to not like.

Such an awesome and secluded quiet location! Great base to climb Scafell Pike and visiting Wast Water. Comfortable open space and good cooking facilities, perfect self-catering option with lots of privacy. The guest garden and view was wonderful addition and very clear instructions from host.

Great location. Like the environmental efforts. VG beds.
Settee is terrible. Needs upgrade. Couldnt use the tv apps such as Netflix as no password provided.
PS the tv problem we had is a poor connection on the aerial lead. Needs taking off and rewiring. But thanks, David for your effort to resolve.

The location is stunning. The Ev charge point dedicated to the property was very useful. The beds, linen, cutlery were all adequate. The parking space is adequate.
The internet speed isn't great to stream etc but browsing and calls were not a problem. Given the remoteness of the location it is understandable.

Positives- location, location, location!!! We have wanted to explore the Wast water area for a while as it’s off the beaten track and this is perfect. 5 mins drive from Wast water and a lovely cafe called the sawmill down the road and a couple of pubs.
Negatives : everyone knows you will pay a premium for holiday weeks but we paid £318 for 2 nights and feel completely ripped off! When paying a premium we now expect much more. Previous accommodation almost always provide a small welcome pack- here, not even a pint of milk. The owners have tried to fit far too much furniture in the studio apartment. the bed feels likes it in the kitchen and just has a very odd feel! The shower looks new but so many things have just been bodged! The bathroom is just not finished.
The incident that really annoyed me up was regarding the car. We arrived with no greeting and let ourselves in with the key safe. There is a outside plug next to the parking space for lower Windsor cottage labelled EV charger. We have an electric car so this was a bonus. (We could have managed without as we are moving onto somewhere that we knew has a charger) We booked through booking.com and was no mention of a EV charger on the facilities list. There was no mention of it in the accommodation folder in the cottage so we took advantage of the facility and plugged our car in. We do realise that the price of utilities has risen however we later received a curt email to say we had not prebooked to use the car charger and there was a £10 charge. No mention of “welcome to Windsor cottage, we hope you found us ok and have enjoyed your first nights stay” Just a rude email. There are ways of communicating and this blunt email was just rude, especially when no mention of the EV charger on booking.com or in the information folder. Unfortunately the weather was rubbish so we had no views. The garden area is completely overgrown and includes a dodgy water feature that sounded like someone who is suffering from diarrhoea and is full of terrifying sculptures like wild beasts and towering idols. There was a rat/mouse trap with a piece of cheese on it in the cupboard under the sink where the pans were kept! Non stick pans with metal utensils, never a good combination
