We spent the past year replacing most of the furniture, flooring, bedding, appliances and amenities inside and out, updating and preparing the home to be the ideal home to relax/work/study and spend time together. Come be our guests!
Nestled in the Inverness hills overlooking Tomales Bay, this quiet, secluded retreat pairs comfortable interior space with close proximity to the Point Reyes National Seashore and scenic West Marin. Guests have private access to the full property, including two downstairs bedrooms & full bath, second floor master suite & balcony, & spacious living area. A just-rebuilt 600 sq ft deck offers a spectacular vista of the bay & rolling West Marin hills.
The 1925 original family home has just undergone a partial remodel/refurnishing. This home has been in our family since 1973. The second story suite and expanded kitchen were added in 1983. The large deck was completely rebuilt in 2020. Situated on a large private lot shaded by mature redwood trees, it maintains many of its original features, including hardwood floors, exposed wooden beams, & kitchen bay windows. The property is located 1/3 mile from town, off a narrow country lane. Guests will be walking distance from Inverness shops, restaurants, & the library which serves as the town's community center. We are a short drive from neighboring Point Reyes Station, Olema, the Bear Valley Visitor Center & historic Earthquake Trail, & numerous ocean & bay beaches & hiking trails.
Inverness is truly a hidden gem thanks to a hard-fought battle against developers resulting in the protected status of a national seashore. Situated not much more than an hour's drive from the city, this beloved family home offers a perfect setting for a weekend respite or an extended vacation. Come enjoy barbecued oysters on the deck, pick blackberries along the nearby creek, collect shells and whale-watch on the beaches, & hike countless trails in one of our country’s most scenic & protected natural settings.
We look forward to having you as our guests!

My group and I had a lovely stay at Lloyd's Lookout in beautiful Inverness. The property is just as it says in the listing -- beautiful big porch, clean rooms, fully stocked kitchen, and located in an easy to access location. We definitely recommend visiting and hope to come back!

Our week stay at Lloyd’s Lookout was just what we hoped for. Comfortable accommodations, well stocked kitchen (thanks for the yummy eggs!), beautiful deck in the trees for sitting out, great location for exploring the National Seashore and Point Reyes Station. Communication with Ewa, our local host, was excellent. We would recommend Lloyd’s Lookout to others looking for a comfortable retreat in a beautiful part of the world.

The house is well-equiped for cooking and family activities (board games, puzzles). We enjoyed walking to the deli/market, post office, and saltwater oyster depot. The beds were very comfy too!

We loved our recent stay at this newly renovated cottage. It has all of the old Inverness charm but with modern upgrades. Expansive deck was perfect for doing art with my teen daughter on Spring break. Loads of privacy while very close to old town Inverness and all of the Pt Reyes beaches and trail heads.

My son marked his 50th with his younger sister and me, his mom. Pt Reyes NS was a favorite and frequent destination during their childhood. Fortunately, I booked this lovely cottage for our stay, knowing we might encounter bad weather...and we did - one of the "atmospheric rivers." But despite rain, wind and power outage, we enjoyed our meals, stayed warm and shared family stories. Hope to return again in the future!

We had a very relaxing stay at Lloyd's Lookout. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine, some flowers and chocolates on the kitchen table and fresh eggs in the fridge, which definitely formed a good first impression. The house was clean and exactly as advertised. The host, Ewa, was very responsive to all our communication and obviously takes good care of the property. We would definitely stay there again and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and other family.

We loved our visit to Lloyds Lookout. The house is very comfortable, with beautiful views through the trees to Tomales Bay. The beds are great, well appointed kitchen and bathrooms—everything you would want in a vacation house. Ewa, our host, even left fresh eggs for us, and made sure there was propane for the grill. We can’t wait to return!

We had a lovely time at this beautiful home. It was so inviting and comfortable with a very well stocked kitchen. We even meet the neighborhood chickens who provided the delicious eggs the property manager left in the refrigerator. Would come back again if in this area!

Grandparents, parents, and two teen girls - we all had a wonderful time! The house is super clean and very comfortable, with plenty of room for the three generations. Well stocked kitchen supplies, lots of windows, a short walk into Inverness, and so quiet. It’s obvious that great care is being put into this lovely home.

Perfect property. Well stocked kitchen, including spices, oils, coffees, vinegars, fresh laid eggs, and a bottle of welcoming wine. The house is very homey, great views, comfortable beds, good linens, plenty of towels. One small wish for the future: the sofa in the living is best for laying down not for sitting. A replacement with good back support would be a plus. But, that is small compared to how wonderful and welcoming this house is.

We had a wonderful stay at Robert’s place. The location is perfect for visiting the Pt Reyes National Seashore. The house was everything we expected with a few delightful surprises like farm fresh eggs. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great time here. The place is charming and the location outstanding. There was an Inverness power outage while we were there so we cut our time short by one day. The owner has been accommodating in returning one day’s fee. Highly recommended.

We had a great stay- thanks so much Ewa for facilitating. Wonderful neighborhood and well appointed home.
House is fairly close to other homes in the neighborhood, for inverness but still feels private from indoors.
We’d love to return again.

Ewa couldn't have been more accommodating. I am planning to return as soon as possible.

Very clean and everything worked. Kitchen well stocked with anything we needed, and we cook. Very quiet at night. The beds were high quality. It was important to not leave any crumbs so we cleaned up every day but not a problem for us. The manager Ewa was very nice and ready to help at any time. When we left she gave us some vegetables and melons! The view from the deck could be better by trimming trees but that is a small detail as we were out most of the time. Rex Naden

We came from a wedding in Sonoma to wind down. This was a perfect place. The host on site - Ewa - stood outside the door before ypu even had finished a question through the site. Point Reyes is a must in northern Cali. Highly recommend.

Amazing home base for hiking
Lloyd's Lookout was amazing! The house was spotless and well equipped with a great kitchen. Good recommendations for dining and activities.
We booked for proximity to Point Reyes and were very happy. It was just 11 miles from the house to the Tomales Point Trail. If you enjoy the outdoors, the trail is a great hike. The views were gorgeous, the flowers were blooming, and we saw more Tule elk than we could count.
We'll be back!

Lloyd’s lookout is one of those special spaces you are afraid to tell other people about for fear of them telling so many people that it becomes a hot commodity and impossible to book. At the risk of doing so, I will inform you that this is a special property in a beautiful area. It was truly a singular experience.

Beautiful house in Inverness
We loved our stay here so much, we want to return again! My 5 year old son and I spent a few days at Lloyd's Lookout with my parents while my they were visiting from Chicago. We had everything we needed - fully stocked kitchen for cooking dinners together, a deck with a beautiful view, a bedroom with bunk beds (to my son's delight), a selection of board games, and a fireplace. We explored Inverness and Point Reyes during the day and cooked big dinners in the evening. It was perfect. Check in was a breeze and our host was super responsive. We hope to return.
