Perfect get away no complaints. Theme was perfect feeling like your back in time. Cantina was very accommodating and we loved the Apache cave overlooking property. We will be coming back to chimney rock and the tin bits ranch.

Enjoyed our stay. Everything great

The property offered a place to rest and recuperate from a long day of hiking. A shower and a place to lay our heads for a good night's sleep. Our room was comfortable and once we figured things out, we had a good stay. This was an interesting layout with a few nuances for "living off the grid"! Overall, enjoyable!
4.8
Wonderful location and authentic period looking property. The weather turned cold and cloudy and so we were unable to enjoy the night sky. Extra blankets would have been great. Kitchen was well stocked. A longer stay to enjoy the quiet and night sky is required.

Location, theme, layout of property were great. Loved the quiet. Cantina was clean & inviting- until you opened the refrigerators & freezers.
Our unit, The Schoolhouse, was dirty as evidenced by: used wash cloth left hanging on shower rod, thick layer of dust & cobwebs on ceiling fan (wouldn'tbe caught dead under it if it got turned on), baseboards, corners & walls of bathroom &mainroom; 2 out of 4 blinds were badly broken & previous guest(s) left toilet paper hanging between slats to provide some added privacy (we left in place too); shower basin heavy mold & mildew; drain cover in sink had black tarlike ring which I was able remove somewhat with my cosmetic towelettes (cleanser & brush could've gotten job done I think); couldnt use microwave in rm because it would trip after 30 seconds of use (we even tried to have lights off and nothing else plugged in). Webbing on one chair badly torn. A person with any heft is going to end up on floor. Refrigrators & freezers in Cantina were also filthy. Loose tater tots & other unknown food spills in freezer and refrigerators had food spills, crumbs and lots of old partially used food & condiment containers.
For the price expected a little more elbow grease, time & attention to clean room & facilities.

Spider webs and thick dust on ceiling fan while lying in bed was uncomfortable. Never could get online, called office and told it would be checked yet I never was able to connect. Power failure when running microwave. Your concept and facilities are nice, good location. Porch light would have been nice.
4.8
The property was beautiful and convenient to Big Bend. The school house has some wear on it, but we still enjoyed it. If you are planning a trip book the newer rooms, they have their own fire pit!
4.8
We wanted a place to unwind and chill, and this was the perfect place for that. The property was neat, welcoming, and flawless. We will definitely come back, with more family next time. It was such a lovely place to gather and forget about stress.

We were looking for a stay between Big Bend Ranch State Park and Big Bend National Park and this was one of very few accommodations comfortable enough to travel with family. Was a bit anxious about the last mile drive but between dry weather and a Jeep rental we were more than fine. The location being very peaceful is an understatement - the kiddo had fun stargazing only a few hundred yards from the place, where there was total darkness over the desert. Otherwise there didn't seem much to do around - mostly one county road to walk along through the desert :) The room was mostly comfortable, though I had to alternate between turning the gas fireplace on and off throughout the night - it was too hot with the fireplace on and too cold without it. The rug didn't seem to have been vacuumed well but otherwise the place was clean and came with toiletries and bottled water. Self-check-in was easy and very convenient. Overall I'd recommend (provided that you're traveling in an AWD).

We would stay there again. Very quiet and peaceful. Was concerned about the community kitchen but it was big and very clean.
The only drawback was not having potable water in the unit.
The unpaved road is a moonscape so beware especially if it rains.
4.8
Very nice and peaceful place to stay. Very clean as well.
4.8
They should let you know property may be in accessible after rain - You may not be able to come or go after a rain until the mud dries
4.8
Very nice and remote place. Nice and clean community kitchen. We enjoyed meeting people there.
4.8
This was an amazingly quiet and peaceful place. The views are amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This was this most memorable stay we have ever had! The old western town setting was awesome! We will definitely be coming back and will be recommending it to all our friends!
4.8
Gorgeous views. Ingenious display of making a resort look like Old Wild West Town. Rooms are nice, (non potable water). My only take back is that there is nothing around for hundreds of miles. You won't have it unless you bring it with you. The common kitchen building is very nice and the bbq works very well. I really enjoyed my stay there and would consider going back.

I needed to get away for a couple of days. This place meet and exceeded my expectations. I took some of my camping stuff and used my own pots and pans in the shared kitchen. Over I was so happy with my stay. We even walked around and explored within the property.
4.8
Loved everything about this place and hope to stay again sometime. Only request I have, in these extremely high temperatures, would have been nice to have the AC already on. We were miserable for several hours Friday evening waiting for the place to cool down.
4.8
The Cabin was cute on the outside and quaint inside. The Sunrises and Sunsets, were absolutely breath taking. We will definitely Stay at the Ten Bits Ranch.
4.8
Wild west on the outside but clean and cozy inside. Comfortable bed and good breakfast options. Some limitations due to remote location like no wifi streaming and request to conserve power and water (no problem!). All electric comes from solar and water is well water (non potable) but they provide bottles for drinking water. Fun, slightly rugged off the grid experience
4.8
The road getting in was a little rough, but worth the trip.
Wonderful stay.
4.8
This property is definitely off the grid! So much so that a torrential rain and hail storm made the only gravel road in and out impassable. We were delayed five hours as the road was repaired. The repair process did start as soon as the owner was notified.
4.8
Highly recommend - has a very clean outside cooking area and super clean pool and hot tub. Bring your own groceries as the local market is limited.
4.8
We very much enjoyed our stay at 10 Bit Ranch. Beautiful location, comfortable accommodation, and very well equipped kitchen that was a pleasure to use. The remote and beautiful natural setting is a wonderful enhancement. Staff responded quickly by text or email to any questions we had. Highly recommend!
4.8
Not only was the property as fun and beautiful as the pictures described, but the property managers were 100% on the ball with any questions I had leading up to my stay. I have stayed at several VRBO properties, but they take the cake with customer service!
4.8
Nice secluded area with gorgeous views. Cabin was so cute, very comfy beds, also liked the kitchen with complimentary breakfast. Wish there was a map to show if we could hike/walk around outside the camp, it wasn't clear. Should consider posting quiet hours as there was a group playing loud music at the fire pit till nearly midnight one night, but otherwise our trip was great, would return and recommend!!

This is a perfect place to stay if you want to hike and explore Big Bend National Park. We spent 6 nights at Ten Bits Ranch and it was about a 15 minute drive into the west entrance. And yes, like others have said, the county road is rough and long going into the ranch, but this is normal for roads in the area. We expected it and had a truck, so it was no problem.
The room was spacious, clean, and cute and we loved the back porch where we could sit and sip our bourbon while watching the beautiful sunsets. Also, having your own small fridge and microwave is a bonus in the room. The Schoolhouse does need new blinds in all of the windows as they were starting to fall apart - a minor maintenance issue and the 2 chairs with straw seats are showing signs of wear and could use replacement. All things that are normal in a vacation rental.
The Cottonwood General Store was close too - on the way into the park, or on the way out of the park to pick up any needed items. We felt the selections were very good and prices were reasonable.
Plenty of water is provided for guests (water is not drinkable) and every morning we went over to the Cantina for Keurig coffee and breakfast. We even grilled steak burgers one evening at the Cantina grill and ate them outside on the deck.
Star gazing is fantastic here - one of the best areas since the skies here are so black at night. On our last night we had a fire in one of the fire pits, which is another bonus of the ranch.
A recommendation for the owner would be to have a map of the ranch for exploring. We did not see one and it would have been nice as my husband did bring his mountain bike with him. Also, for mountain bikers there are very nice trails in the area.
We loved the beauty of Big Bend National Park and were very happy to have stayed at Ten Bits Ranch. For us it was an ideal location with its' proximity to the park. A fun and unique experience staying at a 500 acre off grid ranch!

This was exactly as advertised. If you are looking for a unique experience and value serenity and privacy for relaxation, this is it! It was a drive out of Study Butte and the last 2 miles were on a bumpy dirt road, but the scenery and the stay were worth it! A cold front blew in the 1st night, so we didn't get to enjoy a sunset or hiking the next day, but wished we had booked for a longer stay. The uniqueness was amazing. The only suggestion for improvement was to have more information on places to hike and explore on the property. We only found 1 marked trail and no one to ask.

We enjoyed our stay @ Ten Bits Ranch. It was a little difficult to get there on a very rough & bumpy road, but if you like being out in the wilderness, this is the place for you. We could’ve used a coffee service in our cabin. If you like “roughing” it but w/electricity, water & a/c you’ll love Ten Bits Ranch!
4.8
Room was spacious, comfy and clean. Common kitchen area was well appointed, large, and clean. We loved this place. Only downside is the tap water is not drinkable, but they supply unlimited bottled water so this was never a problem.
4.8
All in all the stay was great, very calm and relaxing stay. A little remote and difficult to access in the rain but they did an excellent job of making sure we were accommodated. Would definitely return
4.8
Room was great. Cantina was nice. Road getting to place was awful; unpaved with potholes. I ran oner something and got a flat. Will not stay again because of road.
4.8
We had a very relaxing time! The property is really unique and nicely done and furnished well. Can’t beat the incredible views! Sunrise and sunsets were spectacular! Met some interesting people as well. Most definitely be back to the old West town!!
4.8
I did not expect how beautiful and unique this property would be. We loved it!
4.8
Nice room. Nice cantina. Wind was ferocious for one night. Comfortable bed. Fireplace kept us warm. December stay. Too cold for star gazing, but certainly dark enough. Neat settling.
4.8
We loved Ten Bits Ranch so much, we extended for a third night! We loved everything about this experience, from the location to the feel of being in an old western movie. If only we had a horse to tie up out front! The property and views are amazing on their own. The amenities and being dog friendly were icing on the cake. The Cantina was well stocked and that was so appreciated and unexpected. It was a quick drive to Big Bend. And the sunsets were perfect. It is definitely on our list to return, and hopefully with more family members joining us.
4.8
Staying at the cutely decorated School House , we learned that Ten Bits Ranch is the best place to stay when visiting the Big Bend area! It’s a fun place to stay, convenient to everything!
4.8
Really easy property to check into.
4.8
It was clean and a cute neighborhood town set up! Thank you!

Road needs lots of improvement. The schoolhouse also needs to be remodeled
