Sadly we did not even find the exact place, neighborhood was scary.

We arrrived with our shuttle van (other customers were along) and it had been raining hard, it was darker than dark, no street lights, no signage, and freaky scary neighborhood. We looked and said no way would be stay in this place, and everyone else on the van said we wouldn't stay there either. Why booking.com has this hotel is beyond me. Not everyone arrives in the light of day, sun shining. I read the reviews after this debacale and cannot believe they were all so praising. We travel a lot and this is the first time we have been disappointed in our choice.

Cute little family home close to airport with wonderful hosts

Patricia and Alexander are very nice and kind people.. they communicated very quickly and responded to all of my questions. When the taxi driver dropped me off they were able to answer the phone to guide me into their home. I slept really well in the room I stayed in. Although there was no air conditioning the fan was really all I needed and I was able to open the window for extra fresh air Patricia gave me tea at night and made me a lovely breakfast in the morning. She also let me have as late of a checkout as I needed because I had a later flight to catch. The house was pretty cute with a nice little Garden in the back.

The place was a little tricky to find because there was no sign on the building but because it's their private home I understand why they would not want a sign. They were very responsive with the WhatsApp phone number which I was able to call while in the taxi.

Habe here mein 1. positiven Eindruck von dem Land bekommen.

Mein 1. Tag in Costa Rica hat so gut angefangen, indem ich diese kleine B&B gefunden habe. Die Wirtin Patricia und ihre Mann Alexander sind so hilfsbereit, sie hat mich abgeholt, mich zu Busstop gebracht , um nach Uvita weiter zu fahren. Ihre Gallo Pinta als Frühstück war lecker!

Lage gut für An-/Abreise;

Patricia & Alexander waren sehr nett und haben uns vom/zum Flughafen gebracht. Das Frühstück war lecker U das Zimmer sehr geräumig. Lage super für An- oder Abreise vom Flughafen.

Die Gegend ist abends nicht sehr einladend. Evtl. sollte man sicher vorab etwas zu essen mitnehmen. Es gibt einen kleinen Innenhof indem man sich abends aufhalten kann.

Veilige en fijne plek om te verblijven!

De eigenaars van deze b&b zijn onwijs zorgzaam en lief. Ik kwam heel laat aan, maar werd alsnog opgewacht door Patricia. Ook maakte Patricia een heerlijk ontbijtje voor me klaar en bracht mij vroeg in de ochtend weer naar het vliegveld. Zeker een aanrader!

Great little place, we just used as an overnight from the airport so all we needed.

Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. They came to the airport very late at night to pick us up. Breakfast was excellent. Then we needed a ride to the rental car agency and they also arranged that for us.

Patricia is very kind and helpful. She was ready to welcome us in her house and she is a great chef! 👩‍🍳 we enjoyed it so much we booked another night before leaving costa rica! highly recommended :)

The room needed hooks for clothes/towels. Also a mirror and counter space/table would’ve been helpful to place toiletries

If you are going to stay in San Hoje for at least one or two nights, I definitely recommend this place.

If your flight landed in San Hoje, especially late at night, you know that transportation is very limited. If you are going to stay in San Hoje for at least one or two nights, I definitely recommend this place. This is a typical Costa Rican house, everywhere is incredibly clean. A very sweet couple lives there, they do their best to solve all your problems, if you contact them beforehand, they will pick you up from the airport without paying any fee, it is about 5 minutes away from the airport. If you have work to do in the city in the morning, Patricia's husband is also a taxi driver. It takes you and accompanies you everywhere. The breakfast prepared by Patricia is also incredible, you should definitely try it.

Warm and friendly host nearby the airport

Patricia was such a wonderful and kind host! She made a delicious home made Costa Rican breakfast for us in the morning. The room is simple but sufficient. We were exhausted after a day of traveling and slept great on the mattress! Location is very close to the airport -- only about 5 minutes in a taxi/Uber.

Couldn't get the hot water to work in the shower. However, this was probably our fault / couldn't figure it out.

Great location for first/last night if travelling through SJO.

Close to SJO airport. The host picked me up and dropped me off from the airport. The room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was freshly prepared at a time to suit me and was delicious. The hosts were very friendly and gave assistance with onward travel plans. Highly recommend

Perfekte Unterkunft für erste oder letzte Nacht in Costa Rica nach bzw. vor dem Flug :)

Super liebe Gastgeber, entspanntes Zimmer, leckeres Frühstück, perfekte Unterkunft für den ersten oder letzten Tag nach Ankunft oder vor Abflug am Flughafen. Wir wurden sogar von Patricia vom Flughafen abgeholt, da wir dort mit unserem Mietwagen angekommen waren und erst am nächten Morgen zurückgeflogen sind. Auch dann hat sie uns zum Flughafen gebracht [ohne Aufpreis war im Preis inbegriffen, haben wir aber nicht so hingenommen, keine Selbstverständlichkeit ;)] Frühstück um 6 Uhr, 6:30 Uhr Abfahrt, war kein Problem. Wir haben uns wirklich sehr wohlgefühlt und waren auch sehr dankbar, dass wir ihr Zuhause einmal erleben durften. War für uns eine neue und sehr schöne Erfahrung. Uber Eats klappt ohne Probleme, wir wollten im Dunkel nicht mehr raus, die Mall ist nur 10 Gehminuten entfernt oder eine kurze Fahrt mit Uber oder Taxi. Preis/Leistung und Lage zum Flughafen unschlagbar, sehr zu empfehlen :)

Das reale Leben bei Einheimischen zu erfahren ist etwas sehr wertvolles und einzigartiges und wir waren dankbar für die Möglichkeit, die uns Patricia und Alexander ermöglicht haben. Sehr zu empfehlen die Unterkunft :)

Sehr nette Gastwirtin. Hat sehr gute Tourhinweise für die ersten Ziele gegeben und uns nach unserem Aufenthalt zum Geldautomaten und dannach zur Autovermietung gefahren. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Best hosts, feels like home

Patricia and Alexander are the best hosts. Patricia picked us up from the airport and gave us info where we can get a sim card and showed us the perfect tour with Ricardo to the volcano Poas, 2 waterfalls with bird watching, and a coffee tour - all in once for 50Usd. Also, Patricia made us breakfast every morning, even on the last day where we left at 6:20 am, where she even drove us to the bus station. And Alexander made us the coffee every morning the best coffee. Just Incredible. Definitely recommend this great family for your stay.

Lovely hosts, welcoming stay and great airport location

A great location for airport arrival / departures. The host Patricia is very friendly and prepared a lovely, typical breakfast for us. She was even kind enough to pick us up from the airport 11pm arrival and drop us back to the airport at 3am on our return leg! We initially only booked for our arrival night, but we booked to stay again for our final night before heading home too. The room we stayed in is separate from the main house and has its own private bathroom. There looks to be another guest suite inside the main house too.

No AC, but a powerful fan in the room to keep cool.

Sparkling clean accommodation five minutes from the airport with charming family!

The room was spotless and the hosts were very kind and accommodating. Drove us to and from the airport at an early hour. We didn't have time for the breakfast but I am sure it would have been great! Neighborhood was also quiet, and we had the most restful sleep of our trip away from highway/traffic noise. A hidden gem that we would happily return to next trip!

Lack of signage to indicate which residence was the BNB. Limited dining options in the area. Finally, Booking.com needs to clearly indicate that the property is CASH ONLY, and payment is made when one leaves! Awkward moment at checkout as we scraped up the necessary payment, but Alexander was willing to drive us to an ATM in any event.

Lovely hosts who collected me, helped me order a takeaway and made a great breakfast the following morning. Facilities were fine.

Shower was a bit weak but there is little you can do about that.
