The setting was described as a quite location
The whole property inside and out was run down. The cabin looked like it had not been cleaned for a long time other than just the counter tops and sink. There was dirt and hanging cobwebs everywhere. We cleaned the bathroom cupboard so we could put our things away and the cloth was black . There was mould everywhere in the bathroom and the bath mat smelt so we put it outside. I complained to the owner asking for some cleaning material so we could clean the cabin but the owner went in to the he cabin without our knowledge and said we had a dog with us as he saw his bowl, dogs were not allowed. I email the owner before arrival to check this point and when we received a confirmation from him we assumed everything was ok as it was not clear on the site at that time. He let us stay because I was going in for a surgical procedure the next day but did nothing about the condition of the cabin. The bed was also broken and wobbled so we had to put a chair to prop it up. The owner said it wobbled because we move it away from the wall!! we had to do this as having a surgical procedure meant that we could not climb over each other to get into bed. There was not sufficient cutlery on having one fork and hardly any utensils to cook with, we had to buy some basic items, can opener, grater, bottle opener etc. Luckily we had a picnic set with us. We did not feel we could complain any further for fear of being asked to leave. There was plentiful hot water

We could see the potential if they paid more attention to detail

Cosy once the heating was on!
Almost impossible to find in the dark, no lights or signs. Huge amount of cobwebs inside and outside, bed frame broken so scared to move to much, all woodwork inside botched or missing, very drafty under front door, would be very cramped for 4 people.

The continental breakfast consisted of bread , boxed cereal and eggs.
No fruit juice, yoghurt or croissants.
The building was more like a shack. Some of the bed supports were broken, the air conditioning unit was disconnected from the mains and the cable left hanging. One of the sockets was broken and another not secured to the back box. The shower was basic at best.

I’m sure in the summer it’s quite pleasant. The cabin is well equipped for a cabin in the middle of a field!
This is far from luxurious living. It’s more of a “glamping” style of property. Cold and damp with a foisty smell in the bathroom. Definitely not suitable for 4, but ok for solo travellers, providing you drive and don’t mind it being quirky.

We didn't manage occupy this property.
The postcode did not match the location of this property. Andy-who I believe is the owner did not help us to find this property. I have a trail of messages proving that Andy was of no help whatsoever, therefore quite literally leaving us with nowhere to sleep on the night of Saturday 17th September.
As I told Andy I intend to contact Trip Advisor of the way I was treated - we were within the postcode location given which led us some rusty old gates on the Gravesend Rd- I gave Andy our location who said he would find us and take us to the retreat .
This never happened he messaged us 2 hours later asking where we were ?
The whole scenario was becoming a complete farce.
I tried to contact Booking.com to no avail..
You ask me what could have been better?
Care of your customers, better communication.
Not treated with no respect whatsoever.
We travelled from Lancashire for a wedding near seven oaks. If it wasn't for the kind help of relatives who managed to find us a bed for the night.

good facilities for an overnight stop
breakfast was poor - eggs had been left out in the heat and so not edible.
no staff around to welcome or direct us to our chalet

Very peaceful in the evenings. Andy the owner is a really nice guy who doesn't intrude on your space at all. Private parking is always a bonus and our cabin came stocked with eggs milk and a loaf of bread which was nice. A great place to stay after a hard day at work if like myself you just want to relax and unwind
The place itself was a little difficult to find but that's kind of the idea of a retreat. And the air conditioning unit didn't work but really not an issue as the cabin has decent ventilation with the windows open anyway.

The owners were very accommodating, allowing us to check in earlier in order to get to our wedding venue on time.
It was spotlessly clean with everything provided, including fresh supplies for breakfast.
We had a lovely, relaxed stay.
Directions and / or signage could be much improved.
We entered the postcode into our Sat Nav and got taken to an industrial area. There was a guy in a workshop who said this is a constant problem, and he often has to redirect people.
We wasted 30 mins or so trying to find it, and started to get anxious.
Once there, everything was great.
6.0 / 10.0
Food was plentiful, but rather basic, though Host provided anything when asked for. The location is great, but a mirror showing traffic coming from the right when joining the main road would make life safer, and a house name visable from both sides would be more than helpful.
Lack of anywhere to sit comfortably inside, and the wooden sofa bed is very uncomfy. I kept almost rolling off it. More kitchen utensils would be helpful, especially if catering for more than one person, I imagine.
8.0 / 10.0
the service was excellent and fresh breakfast ingredients were delivered daily and fresh towels
a few additional pans/cooking utensils would have helped but the basics were supplied
