An experience! Great dino basement fun, but not somewhere I'd return to personally.

The apartment was easy to find and clear instructions given by the host (did need internet access to get the instructions for access to the property as the message came through on the booking.com app the day before). Convenient location for the eurotunnel, and for Calais Beach (where we saw the dragon) and supermarkets. The apartment was clean and everything you could possibly need was provided - kitchen supplies, lots of clean towels, toiletries, nice bedding, comfortable beds, a washer and dryer. Lots of little extras like bottled water, some cereal and snacks. Dishwasher, big fridge, really well equipped place. Lots of thought has gone into the decor theme and the amount of toys and stuff provided in the basement was amazing. Brilliant for children, a huge TV down there with netflix. Good free WiFi. Nice big bath, seperare shower with good water pressure. Free parking (though it gets very full and we struggled to get a space on the second day).

2 of the double beds are in a windowless cellar. If I had read enough reviews beforehand I would have seen this and honestly I would not have booked it. It wouldn't be legal as a bedroom in the UK as its not considered safe, and I'm sure France has different laws but it was a bad place for asthmatics to sleep and I think it should be made clear in the listing that half the sleeping places are in a cellar. There is aircon and a dehumidifier down there, and a lot of air fresheners to improve the smell, and as a games room it's absolutely fine, but I truly don't think it's a suitable place for a bedroom with no window or means of escape in an emergency. The listing does say 2 bedrooms, which is true as one room and one curtained off area are on the ground floor, but it also says it sleeps 8, which means 4 people in the cellar. There is only 1 small window in the whole apartment which makes it quite hard to air properly. The flat was VERY noisy. I have never stayed anywhere quite so noisy. I know the owner says in other reviews they've done what they can with soundproofing, and they kindly provide eye masks and ear plugs, but I found it too noisy, especially in the one actual bedroom in the apartment. It seemed like I heard every voice, footstep, and toilet flush in every one of the surrounding flats at night. There is one seperate toilet, again with no window. It's good that it's seperate, but for me 1 toilet is not enough for somewhere that is supposed to sleep 8. It was also quite smelly in the tiny room. The kettle switch was broken so you had to hold it down to boil the kettle but this was a minor concern. Overall it was an interesting experience but I absolutely would not be returning.

Fun for the kids, plenty of comfy beds, short walk into Calais, good comms with host, well stocked

Toddlers adored the place for obvious reasons - the cellar is superb! Comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, convenient location, great communication from host

If sleeping downstairs, you can hear the people upstairs moving around. Didn't bother us too much as only really happened in the morning anyway.

The kids loved this place! They begged us not to leave. Had all the comforts of home and every detail was thought of. 10/10 reccomend if traveling with your family.

Great place to stay with children!

Absolutely loved the facilities for the children! Our granddaughter loved the little house where she could hide and downstairs was like paradise!

We did not find the bed very comfortable and we could not block out the light upstairs.

Highly recommended, brilliant apartment for either couples or family's a must for children!

The host has thought of EVERYTHING, there is not one thing missing! Tea bag selection, coffee pod selection, sugar cubes, mini cereals for children. We travelled from Alsace got 2 hours into our trip to Calais, and broke down, thus arriving at 10.30pm the children were thrilled with the dinosaur room, tons of toys which perked them right up. Beds comfortable, Kitchen has everything you need, the whole place is beautifully clean, bathroom spotless, lots of towels, netflix is a real plus. Thank you :-)

The only comment is it smells a bit damp downstairs in the dinosaur room, but only in here and its a cellar so kind of normal.

Very clean and well-equipt. Best equipt kitchen I've seen in a self-catering accommodation. Children loved the children's bedroom/playroom. Netflix an added bonus . We'll definitely stay again.

Main bed in room upstairs is the best option but with the way it is set one person will have to climb over the other to get out. There is another double bed though.

A quick stay before heading to England

Very close to the euro tunnel. The kitchen and bathroom are modernized and very nice.

The downstairs kids area smelled a little like mold. It was super windy there and the skylights were rattling really bad. There was some sand in one of the beds. Couldn’t get the front door locked. I believe it just needed some oil. Luckily there was an outer door that did lock.

It is good for one-two nights.

All in the flat. Nice bathroom and kitchen. Netflix in 3 tv's. Enough space even with pet.

Children's area in the basement (moisture). We have a child with asthma, she got wheezing.. Despite this, the children (two) were delighted No windows (even one)

The property was designed for family fun. The host had left water and snacks which was a lovely touch. very clean.

The basement was damp the floor wet was not safe for the children to sleep down there due to this.

Amazing quirky and well equipped apartment with a lot of good surprises

We arrived late at 10:30pm but found a free car space right in front of the accommodation and an "epicerie" accross the road open till 11pm, which was great. We called the owner, who was very responsive, as we had attempted to open the wrong key-box in the dark (our fault). The apartment was very clean, and amazingly decorated. A huge father Christmas pointed us to a door opening into a truly amazing cellar, transformed into a private games room. Ideal for family with children. Or for older family like us who like quirky places.

Some other comments said that the games room was a bit stuffy, but this didn't disturb us at all.

Brilliant apartment

Me and my family liked everything specially the basement with the toys, TV, 4in1 game table and hammock. Very clean apartment. Lovely host and fresh orange juice, water and snack. Location middle of everything. Would come back again

Great service & a great price.

The playroom was a favorite for our two kids. What a fun surprise. The host left us orange juice, water, and snacks. It was super kind and enjoyable.

The bathroom and main area smelt like wet pets. If we were pet people it wouldn’t had bothered us, but we don’t have pets. It wasn’t a huge problem. If you have a pet this place is great!
