Great hotel and very helpful staff. Would recommend.

Lovely hotel, close to the train station and close to the night life. It was ideal for the 1 night. The style is perfect for the character of the hotel. Not that is affected our stay but, the room was a little "tired" and is in need of a bit of up keeping. The floor in our room, was very creaky and felt wobbly. Paint chipped off the door and the lighting was quite dark. However, we did notice that a few corridors were closed off and looked like they may be getting a refurb.

Clean room. Attentive staff. Old room which would benefit from an update but still very clean.

We enjoyed our stay
3.8
Hotel is in a good location but rooms are tired and need updating. 20 pounds to park which is too much!

Staff are lovely here. Very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is getting a bit worn. Our room was very small for a double and very hot. Could not open windows due to city noise (understandable). Marks on the bedding that looked like ink or dye. Pleased that due to having some credit with hotels.com I didn't pay full price. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant and thought the prices were good for a hotel.

For £150 for 1 night stay, I expected better. Normally, rooms are over £200 a night. I certainly wouldn’t pay that and won’t return.
The hotel is currently covered in scaffolding so, unless you know where it is, it’s difficult to find. As I was driving, missing the hotel twice and having to suffer Leeds its one way system was extremely frustrating. The car park was also difficult to find. At a cost of £20 to park too, that’s quite a lot to pay, in my opinion.
The carpets are threadbare and the furniture in my room was tired at best. The bathroom was functional but badly in need of updating.
3.8
Staff were friendly / breakfast good - good location for concerts etc.
Rooms on 2 nd floor need a refurb - they are clean but could be upgraded and tired
3.8
It was an unexpected stopover, I had no change of clothes etc and I just needed a bed for the night. I did however have my charging cable for my mobile phone but there was no USB sockets to plug into in the room which was disappointing.
3.8
Had a great stay . Staff courteous. Just one problem no batteries in the tv remote control but was given some at reception.

Exactly Serves keep it up 👍

we have stayed at the met a lot over the last 18 month . 1st view was not a fair question the met is getting renovated to scaffolding up which is fine has to be there .
room was good as always although the bath plug control knob fell off and the room was refurbed allready
the breakfast . well 1st was lovley as normal how ever it wasnt the normal buffett which is a shame . we went down for breakfast at 08-30 we felt a little rushed compared to a weekend staff were cleaning round us and putting juice away . looked like there were setting up for a event but was still in breakfast .
over all the stay was ok compared to fri and sa amazing. staff on a week day dont seem as happy jolly nd customer ficused on check out we wasnt spoken to which we love the met for the friendly smile and chats like a family hotel as you around rection today was very corporate and cold
hasn't put us off allthough was dissapointed but will be back but in a weekend not a week day where they seem to care more for an event

Room was spacious. Hard to ignore scaffolding. Needs must. Grouting in bathroom missing in places. £20 charge for parking. Missed that in T’s and C’s
3.8
The hotel was extremely busy when I arrived, however, the receptionist checked me in quickly. Love this hotel, great location and comfortable rooms.
3.8
Wasnt aware the Hotel didnt have air-conditioning therefore room very hot.
3.8
Hotel needs some upgrading and refurbishments.
Room was really hot.
3.8
Hotel was well located only a few minutes away from the city centre. Room was clean & comfortable and shower was good. Ever so slightly pricey but that was due to my last minute booking. Overall a great stay 10/10 would recommend
3.8
There was no indication that the hotel is undergoing major renovations covered in scaffolding so hard to see when arriving. Room was large but average in decor but fine for a couple of days as near to the shops bars and restaurants and the train station. Breakfast was good though and the few staff we spoke to were helpful and friendly.
3.8
A smelly hotel with a terrible view
3.8
OK hotel in a convenient location. My room was a small double - big enough for one (just), but it would have been too small for two. I appreciated the bathtub.
I think I paid almost twice what I paid last year at the same time so not exactly value for money.
3.8
Hotel was amazing staff was really helpful check in was really fast only problem was room was way to hot and windows don't open that much
3.8
Very clean and comfy bed, but room a bit dark. However think people should be made aware when booking about the building work, as woken up by workmen talking, phones ringing and then the sound of a drill .
3.8
Central and close to railway station. Undergoing a facelift so the exterior is covered in scaffolding. Interior is grand & spacious but dated. Room was comfortable but a little shabby. Bed was very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was spacious with bath and natural light. Overall ideal for my needs and budget.
3.8
Centrally located and really close to railway station, shops, restaurants and bars, only 15 minutes walk to First Direct Arena which was great for us.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel is going through complete refurb so we accepted that there would be done disruption, but in fact it didn't really bother us. Our room was comfortable and yes the bathroom in particular needed a big upgrade but again once refurbs are complete this shouldn't be an issue. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice.
3.8
Building work inside and out slightly discouraging, however still a good stay
3.8
Lovely Hotel but a little on the dated side , it is in the middle of a re refurbishment so time will tell on that one . Very friendly and helpfull staff . Clean and comfortable all we needed for a one stay . No issue with noise or disruption from the refurb at all .
3.8
Great sleep
3.8
Great location but (outwith main lobby) room was tired and outdated and furnishings tatty.
3.8
Hotel was clean but tired- the shower leaked so much we had to use all our towels to dry the floor!
Staff were friendly but seemed very nervous and it took us some time to check in and out.
3.8
I called when booking to check the car park as due to a knee injury i needed a parking space but when i got there i was told the car park was full, i paid a premium for this hotel for the car park very disappointed, the hotel was very expensive for what it was
3.8
The hotel was a great location, really central, and the cleaning staff were particularly friendly. However the hotel building is very run down, there were marks on the bedroom walls and significant dust and dirt around the windows. On the night of our arrival there was a university of 6th form ball which was loud and meant that the bar was out of action, I had not been warned about this in advance. There were also significant works being done to the hotel which were along our corridor and outside. This meant we heard banging and drilling on our first morning. The staff were friendly!
3.8
Good stay but wish we had known about the building work in advance and quite how noisy it would be
3.8
First room we were given was not clean, was tired looking and did not reflect the booking we made. We were moved to another room when we complain. Second room was ok.
On checking in we were advised that there were two functions in the lobby and would be a lot of people around that area later on in the evening, no problem with that.
The music playing late into the night was not mentioned and totally unacceptable. Followed by noise all through the night into the early hours.
A better night on Sunday though, but why empty the glass bottle bins at 4:30am?????
3.8
Lovely hotel. Great city centre location. Friendly staff
3.8
Beautiful building currently under renovation.
Unfortunately bank holiday and very small car park so had to park 15 mins away .
Only stayed one night very comfortable bed.
3.8
We were not aware that hotel is being renovated so all of the outside is covered with scaffolding. The room was very dated and quite gloomy. Very central which is what we wanted and obviously what you pay for. It will not be a hotel we will choose in the future.
3.8
The room looked pretty old and not that clean. Also the TV remote didn't work. But the breakfast was decently nice! Also the area was very nice and safe that I could walk around the street by myself.
3.8
There is extensive external works going on so the room was surrounded by scaffolding and netting. The builders started walking around past the window at 8am so no chance of a lie in. The room was fine (superior room) but very tired. You have to run the water for a few minutes before it’s hot enough to shower. The double bed is two singles together. The staff were polite and helpful but the hotel is in the early 90’s vibe.
3.8
Convenient city location. Great base for shopping or the 1st Direct Arena (15min walk).
Looks a little tired in places, but the staff and service were first rate.
3.8
This hotel has the potential to be beautiful but it was tired looking and in need of updating. Our room was huge but the windows -which were behind scaffolding- were filthy, the floor tiles in the bathroom were cracked and moved under foot, the toilet moved as you sat on it and the cistern was cracked, the grout around the bath was falling off, the curtains had dirty marks that looked like blood on and the carpet was worn on the communal stairs
The bar was poorly stocked and did not have any of the drinks we requested
However the staff were friendly and pleasant, it was generally clean and the building is stunning (behind the scaffolding) with a beautiful staircase and nice lounge area
The car park was poorly signed and we ended up in a local multi story and the location was good
