Really shabby hotel, shower barely worked and couldn’t plug a lap top in to charge as socket position was so low. I tried to report the issue but the queue at reception was so long I had to leave. Window in room was old and had mould.

Haven't stayed here since 1996 on a Uni Field Trip, felt like an appropriate amount of time. It's OK, good location, bed was comfy and the room was clean. Decor is 1990s (not sure it changed since I was there last), breakfast wasn't bad, but field kitchen standard. Check-in was atrocious, we were all guided into lines which then got served faster than those of us who had queued for 30 minutes (this is the UK, we DO queuing here), which was frustrating. Staff were friendly though, despite angry guests waiting for their rooms.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. It was in a great location! The room was quiet, comfortable, and clean. The customer service was top notch as every staff person we encountered was helpful. I will definitely stay here again because we had such an enjoyable experience.

Hotel and staff are lovely and helpful.
Rooms clean and spacious. Lovely shower.
Only downside was that then room looked out to a loud courtyard and the room was boiling meaning I couldn’t open the window as it disturbed my sleep. Which is why I did not give 5 stars.
5 minutes from the tube station and 20 minute walk to Covent Garden.

There are over 400 rooms in the hotel and check-in took a bit of time was expected. The bathroom is very big and clean. The downside was room was not bright enough and the twin single beds were very narrow.

Great location. Clean & friendly.
The one thing that spoils this hotel is the lack of double glazing so you can hear SO much noise from outside - traffic, people talking in the street, tuk-tuk music.
Ear plugs are essential!

Fantastic stay at this hotel, beds were comfy and the rooms were clean and perfect for us as we was out most of the day. The bathroom was nice to. The reception staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Would recommend this hotel stay and will definitely be back!

Pleasant stay, basic for what you need. Rooms were a little dated and some places weren’t as clean as we would’ve expected but it was good for what we paid.

I struggle after back surgery. One of the concierge staff saw I was in pain whilst trying to get hold of a taxi for me. He went and found a chair for me and sorted the cab and then helped me in. Above and beyond service where all the staff are lovely

Myself and 2 girl friends shared a triple room for a weekend shopping in London cant fault anything apart from no lock on bathroom door. 2min walk to nearest tube at Russell square

Overall most things about my stay were very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The check-in and check-out process was swift and friendly. I really enjoyed the burger I had for dinner at the London Pub located in the same building. The breakfast was very decent and hearty with a varied choice for all tastes. The room had been recently renovated, and the bedding was comfy. The only gripe I have was that my room faced onto a main street. Normally not a problem. I found that the window was very poor at keeping out noise. The location seemed to have police cars / ambulances passing every few minutes at worst. And this went on through the evening and night. So, sleep was poor. Staying here again, I would insist on a room that was on the inner court yard if possible. Apart from that excellent value, great location and easily accessible to other areas of London.

Great price for the location and room. We stayed in one of the top floors and the room was well kept and comfortable. Decoration is lacking (it’s very plain) but that’s not why we picked this hotel. The location is ideal for visiting London by foot. There is a 24h Tesco 2 mins away. The luggage drop off service is also very handy and well organised.
If you get a good deal, I would definitely recommend booking this place. Saw some bad experiences in the reviews but everything went super smoothly for us.

Overall a nice property offering solid value. I would consider staying here again.

Excellent service, the reception staff went above and beyond to find us an early room. Breakfast was superb and the breakfast staff were super efficient. The hotel is extremely clean. Situated in an excellent part of London. We will definitely be back. Thank you for an excellent stay.

Was ok, no sound proofing from corridor or from the street, busy area so quite noisey
3.0 / 10.0
All fine with bed, shower etc but the windows are appalling, they don’t shut properly so all the noise echoing round the courtyard gets into the room

Great stay at Royal national hotel, clean, comfortable beds, quick check in and fast check out.

After seeing less than favourable reviews i was aprehensive, however I can tell you my experience was a good one! After arriving from Euston I was aware I could leave my luggage free of charrge at the hotel, I went to reception to see where i did this and i checked in - luckily my room was available and i was able to go straight to my room. The room was spotless and the bed was super comfortable. The lead in room is on the road side - the upgraded room type overlooks the quieter courtyard. I was on the 6th floor and the road noise really wasnt an issue - do take earplugs if you are a light sleeper as the double glazing isnt great. We went room only so cannot comment on the breakfast - didnt hear any complaints through. Check in and check out was easy and quick, i will be coming back the the Royal National as the location is spot on - 5 mins walk from Euston, 5 mins to the British Museum, 2 mins from Russell Square tube station, lots of places to eat on this road too. Overall a great stay!

Best located, best price-wise stay you can find in London. Even Single travelers will find this place enjoyable

Best hotel at an amazing price. Would highly recommend it. Brilliant location, room and staff. I can not fault the hotel! It really made the holiday and I would
Recommend it without hesitation. In fact I’m considering rebooking another london visit there as it was such a lovely stay

Great place to stay before my partner and I’s Contiki! The pizza at the adjoining restaurant was nice and the hotel room was very comfortable. I liked the small snack/drink shop in the hotel lobby as it was convenient. Good location

Very slow check- in, allow extra time for this.
Terrible smell in the room, had a triple and due to availability couldn’t be moved. Had to get a fan and leave window open to try and remove.
Stale musty smell was awful, such a shame otherwise this would have been a good stay

Excellent from check in to our exit. Very efficient on the desk and a warm welcome as we entered the building (which is huge, biggest ive stayed in). Twin bed room looked new! New bathroom, carpets, beds. Great shower that stayed at a constant heat. Good size room. Stayed for two nights. Take earplugs, the location is amazing but its noisy in the center of London. Didn't try the breakfast but it is available. We will definitely be back

Good as the bed were comfy and clean. We really enjoy the sleep! However it was too noisy in the room as the car kept making sound.

Suitable base for 2 nights in London. Clean bedroom/bathroom. Only negative, considering price, was a smell of cigarette smoke even though we were on the 5th floor.

Very good parking - and always great staff.
Although, we arrived at the hotel and they said the room wasn't paid, although we paid on Hotels.com when booking.

Walls were too thin a no insulation to reduce noise, room next door making too much noise at 2am. I knocked on walls, shouted for them to be quiet, tried to call reception to no avail

Very comfortable stay and central to everywhere - staff were so friendly and rooms were cleaned daily if you wished - rooms were comfortable and modern, would 100 per cent return.

Nice room. Looked recently renovated. Comfortable bed. Not great sound insulation from windows.

Nice location, clean, fair pricing, convenient store operating 24/7 with self-service payment system, plenty of restaurants and shops at the ground floor.

Keenly priced room but my wife and daughter have stayed on separate occasions and had a better room. The double bed was pushed up against the wall which made it feel a bit cramped. But the location for getting around London was excellent. The breakfast room is huge and well organised with plenty of staff to guide you to your table.
I would happily stay here again

I paid extra to get double bed but I was given a bed with two single beds joined together. They kept moving away from each other all night. Disturbed my sleep
3.0 / 10.0
This hotel was fine if you're not looking to spend much time in your room. There was not much noise proofing, so if you're a light sleeper, probably not the place for you. The room was clean but no very basic.

Hotel is huge with lots of options available such as customer service desk, a bar, restaurant, convenience store, luggage storage, tour options office and location to public transport, shopping, parks and bars and cafes. The rooms are basically for sleeping so nothing fancy, but when in London, all you really want to do is get out there and experience all that London has to offer before you move on.

Hotel great location. Spotless, staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast was excellent
4.0 / 10.0
Great stay. Very clean. Good value for money as prices in London are very high. Food via pizza & pub around hotel. Convenience stores nearby. Nice staff. Very large hotel so bit of delay with check in. Note that if you choose a room with twin beds, the twin beds are very small but comfortable . Good location only a 5 minute walk from tube /underground (Piccadilly line). This line is one stop from King’s Cross/Euston station with access to St. Pancras International train station. Can use this stop to switch for trains to Gatwick Airport. Also, Piccadilly line goes straight to Heathrow airport. Bus stops nearby. Close to main tourist areas via tube or buses. Great place to stay!

Great location but hotel is quite dated and in need of renovation. Street noise can be heard as windows are old. Only 2 plugs sockets in the whole room (triple room).
Had to ask reception for extra amenities as housekeeping did not top up low toilet roll or tea/coffee (as there was only one per person which was used first day).
Our toilet had plumbing issues on the second night so we had to move late at night, took quite a while to get the new room.

Lovely hotel. Will
Definitely return
