Lovely hotel in the lower heart of the city. Little bit of a walk to get to but on a street with loads of restaurants and bars. Actually quite quiet not a lot of outside noise. The restaurant in the hotel was only serving breakfast which we didn't have. But I'm sure when its fully functioning will be great

One night stay, second xmas in a row. Very clean and tidy plus center of city

I have no complaints at all regarding this hotel. The location was perfect for us in relation to the activities we had planned plus we like 'old town' areas and this certainly met the bill.
If anything the restaurant wasn't open and apparently this has been the case since Covid. The location meant this was not a problem as there are plenty of places to go for a drink or a meal. We would definitely return to this hotel.

Very good location !!!

This hotel was very centrally located in the Grass market. We could walk to various spots including Edinburgh Castle. The staff was very helpful. I broke a bottle in my bathroom last night and was mortified. There are so many nice breakfasts places I wldnt suggest buying breakfast at hotel.

The hotel is centrally located, but it’s also very quiet. One of the elevators was out of order throughout our stay, so it was always a wait to leave the room in the morning due to the elevator being packed. The room was quite outdated with not so clean carpet and the floor was uneven in one part of the room. The extra chair in the room had multiple stains and there was a dark red stain on the carpet. The service was excellent and we were given a heater within 10min of arriving since the heating in the room wasn’t working. I also stayed in Apex City of London and this hotel was run down compared to the London one. However, the bathrooms were clean and modern and price for the location was excellent.

Always great to stay here. We’ll be back for Christmas/New Year.
BUT… the restaurant was closed for dinner this week.

Loved the location. Lots of bars and cafés just outside and easy to walk everywhere

Perfect location in Grassmarket, next to Victoria street and walkable to most main attractions. Very comfortable and I loved the water filling station.

Wonderful hotel near Victoria St and lots of restaurants/pubs. Comfy bed and the front desk was so helpful whether it was ice we needed, or help calling a taxi.
Hallways felt like a dorm room but the rooms themselves were spacious, and comfortable.

Very nice contemporary hotel. Location perfect for access to Edinburgh. Haymaker Square location has a variety of bars & restaurants & shops.

Welcoming staff on arrival- which was before our check in time as we hoped to leave our bags .. but our room was ready so they let us check in really early!! The room contained everything you require, and was serviced each day .

Hotels said I had to contact the hotel when I need an extra night. I am not sure whose fault it was hotels or Apex but my price increased by about 150 going directly towards hotel. I am paying $500 for a 3 star hotel. Lots of cleanliness issues and the hotel said I was not in superior room so I had no air condition or a better coffee pot. They gave me a plug in fan that spit out dirt and filth all over me and the furniture. Horrible! There was no water pressure in the bath sink and tub and the sink clogged up! Then the hotel is asking me for a tip. For a $500 room I should not have to pay for breakfast or low quality robe and skippers for this price . I actually paid almost 200 more! Even motel 6 would have air. And if I got cold, there was a plug in heater. I just traveled all over England and the lodgings were impeccable and less expensive!!!! The hotel said it is expensive because I stayed near the castle!!! I did not know where else to go!!! I am so disappointed.

Lovely property in an excellent location. Had a great view of the castle

Hotel located in a very convenient area. All major attractions are easy walking distance.
Room was clean and tidy, we had been travelling for 7 weeks and had been sleeping terribly due to really uncomfortable beds and pillows. Staying here was the first decent sleep we had had in weeks.
Staff are friendly and welcoming, parking was very easy and reasonably priced. We enjoyed visiting the neighbouring (sister) hotel pool and leisure centre.

The hotel was wonderful. My favorite thing to do was look out my window at the castle. I was at a convention and if I go again, I plan on staying in this hotel. The breakfasts were really good.

Great stay at the Apex City of Edinburgh. The hotel is perfectly located in the Grassmarket area of the Old City, in easy (if hilly) walking distance to major attractions). The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. My only nit is that the hotel doesn't have a gym itself. You have access to the sister hotel's gym about a block away, which is quite small.

A brilliant location / the staff were most welcoming!

Reception very welcome, room was extremely clean and comfortable, breakfast was a great choice…Hotel central to most things, especially the castle…would highly recommend.
We will be back.

Specious room with shower and bathtub were separated. Bit noisy late night since the hotel is on Grassmarket. Great view of Edinburgh Castle, but you can see same view from each floor hallway too.
We took public transportation from airport to the hotel with multiple suitcases in August. Big mistake. Streets were full of tourists and cars. Map app’s navigation lead us to take 3 steep and narrow stairs ( which we did not take). Cobblestone streets are beautiful to see not for suitcases.

Perfect view of Edinburgh castle from my room. Comfortable, clean, high end rooms (towel warmer was a nice luxury touch!). Didn’t realize how central, close and walkable the hotel is to all the sites until I checked in. Looks over grass market, right next to Victoria street, and 5 min walk to Edinburgh castle. Only small complaint is the noise level at night in the grass market can be a little high but that’s not the fault of the hotel, just location. Will stay here again next time I’m in town!
