Excellent staff, beautiful room. Restaurant is amazing quality
4.3
The staff and service was amazing. Very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included and delicious!
The room was a great size with extra amenities, toiletries and tea/coffee even hot chocolate. It's showing it's age and wear in places but it was super comfortable and would definitely return when the opportunity arises.
4.3
Nice hotel right on the seafront with quiet en suite bedrooms. Nice and friendly staff with pleasant bar restaurant.
Local parking easy but zoned.
4.3
As always Dunkerleys and it's staff are wonderful
4.3
Excellent location, very clean, helpful staff and nice traditional breakfast.

Room was clean, but a bit tired. It was a hot night and a good fan was provided. The sash window wouldn't stay open, so we had to wedge it with the rubbish bin.
The radiator in the bathroom was on (!) and the knob to turn it off was missing. We reported it at 5.45pm, but when we came back to the room after 9pm, nothing had been done. Phoned again and a lady did come up, went and fetched a spanner and pliers and, with help, was able to switch it off.
Breakfast was good.
Parking is a real issue - only public carparks with a 3 hour limit, although it's possible to keep buying more tickets, but you have to keep going back to do it.

It was hot in my room due to the heat...even at night! Aircon didn't work...and when I asked them to fix it for my 2nd night stay it wasn't fixed. I felt they didn't care. Also early morning sun bashed into my room...why they not use black out curtains or blinds. Otherwise room was very clean and comfortable.

What spoilt our stay at Dunkerley’s was the very poor service received when we had a meal in the bar in the evening and especially at breakfast the next morning. Staff weren’t at all welcoming or helpful, they gave us no information as to the procedure at breakfast, my husband’s breakfast of smoked haddock and poached eggs was very meagre, poorly presented and virtually thrown at him. We felt that we were very begrudgingly served. At the evening meal in the bar we were disgusted at being presented with an iPad where we had to choose how much service charge we wanted to pay when we’d had no service! It was all disgraceful and quality of food had certainly dropped since we were last there. Fortunately there were 2 wonderful receptionists on when we arrived and when we left , they are to be commended. Household staff were lovely too. We definitely won’t be returning.

You hotel was amazing nice comfortable beds and the staff was lovely definitely be staying again

What a view! Fabulous view of the sea from our room " Crowes nest"
4.3
Perfect for an overnight stay at the coast
4.3
The view was beautiful and the staff were very helpful.

We stayed here before taking a cruise from Dover. Deal is an easy drive from the cruise terminal and a very pleasant seaside town. We really like Dunkerleys for it's lovely seafront location and convenient parking. The room was a good size and very comfortable. Breakfast was included and was excellent, and we both enjoyed the smoked haddock. We also ate in the restaurant on the Saturday night and had a delicious seafood meal that was extremely good value
4.3
Great room, although disappointed that you didn't have any spare pillows (one was found after day1)
Parking a bit of a pain but that's no fault of yours.
Great location (we have stayed here twice before)
Excellent food
Staff generally helpful and friendly but not always wanting to walk the extra mile (had an issue with no shaver point in bathroom) which was met with a shrug of the shoulders
Will come again
4.3
Service and helpfulness outstanding. They did the absolute best they could to make the conditions in the room the best they could considering the age of the property. The only downside I was the two flight staircase to our room. They really couldn’t have been more helpful and the hotel is well managed.
4.3
Lovely spot in Deal...quite classy.
Lovely room and great breakfasts.
Great service....would highly recommend it!
4.3
We had a beautiful room overlooking the sea. Great location and service at a good price. Would very happily stay again.
4.3
The hotel is at a nice location but no place to unload luggage and car has to be in public car park. Our room itself was ok BUT it was in a horrible location and I can’t believe fire safety is ok with that: from reception 4 steps up to dining room, 4 steps down to the first door past kitchen and bathroom, then another door and 2 steep and narrow flights of stairs up to the room with very low ceiling and view of some backyards. The bathroom was also tiny and the breakfast was average. We were hoping for a small town waterfront hotel with water views but couldn’t sleep half of the night because we felt uncomfortable/unsafe
4.3
Really friendly, staff great. No parking on site but pay and display literally 2 minutes across road seemed safe enough. Seafront location, close to town. Breakfast delicious. Room 4 excellent for solo traveller, great views!
4.3
We only booked one night . Nice comfortable room just a little tired looking could do with updating. Staff were very nice and the breakfast was excellent.
4.3
Great position on Deal seafront. Close to lots of restaurants and pubs, and short walk from the high street with many interesting shops. Hotel is a little dated, but nice and warm, comfy, friendly staff, great breakfast and we enjoyed a delicious - very good value meal in the restaurant. Would recommend

Great stay. Staff friendly and welcoming. Room was very nice, overlooking the sea. Plenty of storage, hospitality tray, iron and ironing board etc. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Good bathroom with rain shower and bath, nice white fluffy towels.
Breakfast consisted of various cereals, fresh fruit (although not much and didn’t appear to be replenished), yoghurt, toast, choice of cooked, including fish. Staff very accommodating.
Will definitely be staying again on our next trip to Deal. Thank you.

Great location

Made very welcome and I enjoyed set menu dinner there. But my husband’s coffee was awful and loo seat in bathroom was very loose.
4.3
Friendly helpful staff. A very good bank holiday deal. Lovely breakfast.
4.3
Good value relative to other central Deal hotels. Cracking breakfast and friendly staff.
4.3
Lovely room. Lovely staff. Would definitely return.
4.3
Confortable room with nice sea view and friendly staff
4.3
There was a warm welcome when I arrived at reception and I was asked to fill in a form even though I’d already checked in online.
The room was spacious with lots of storage, clean bed linen and towels.
The carpet appeared not to have been hoovered and there were some dirt marks. Room very dusty especially skirting boards and dado rails, and cobwebs around the windows. The cord to fix the roller blind was sticky. The room could do with decorating as a little dated.
The bar area had a great ambience and staff were very attentive. Drinks reasonably priced.
Bed very comfortable and i was able to get a good nights sleep.
Shower not very powerful but worked!
Breakfast area very cosy and again staff accommodating.
Poached haddock slightly disappointing as it was a little on the dry side but the poached egg was done to perfection. In hindsight, I wish I’d requested some mushrooms too.
At checkout, there was no one at the reception or close by as I looked around. In the end, I left my key on the desk.
4.3
Lovely time spent here, staff were attentive and polite

Couldnt be better placed, lovely food, service and staff brilliant, i will be back. Big thanx for my stay.

We spent a lovely 36 hours in Deal. Dunkleys was wonderfully close to the beach yet quiet. We much enjoyed the fish pie for dinner . Breakfast was delicious and the room comfortable. This is a hotel with character, not modern with sharp clear edges and immaculate. We had a most enjoyable stay and will be back. The staff were efficient and pleasant. Thank you.
4.3
Lovely place to stay. Staff are really helpful.
4.3
Shocking cleanliness and general quality.
Bath plug didn’t work so couldn’t bath - and bath was filthy as was room in general
Damp on the ceiling, bed was two beds together with wrong fitting duvet and beds kept moving apart. “Suite” is a very misleading description, was quite the opposite. I would like a refund
4.3
Two comfortable nights, good breakfasts & a friendly, caring staff.
4.3
Staff efficient & friendly especially Kelsey. Meals were delicious & drinks reasonably priced. Room wasn’t spacious but sufficient with a comfortable bed & sea view.
4.3
Great staff.
4.3
Overall hotel stay was good. Could do with a new shower as not very powerful & maybe few more staff, as only 2 staff available & was having to serve at the bar & cover Reception at the same time. Breakfast was lovely.
4.3
Stayed @Dunkerlys a few times, always an enjoyable stay 😊
5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Breakfast 👍
4.3
The hotel is very conveniently located, overlooking the beach & only a few minutes walk from Deal railway station as well as being close to the high street and supermarkets.
The room was spacious, well presented and immaculately clean. Despite being above the restaurant, it was nice and quiet & I enjoyed a good night's sleep in the very comfortable bed.
The staff were very friendly and professional.
Good breakfast (included in the very reasonable price of the stay). Would definitely recommend this hotel!
