Close to restaurants and shops.

Stayed here for 2 nights for 4 person in a room.
What I like about this place is that they have kitchen equipment that u can cook, easy access to restaurants and shopping in 5-10 mins walk
There is flybus and gray line bus that goes to the airport in 3am in the morning that is just across the road; very convenient indeed.
Customer service is excellent with friendly staff and very helpful.

This was a decent and central location to stay for our short 2 day stop over in Iceland. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Our room was clean and the beds quite comfortable. We weren't seeking luxury by any means when we booked this, but I feel a few minor touches could have made our stay just a little easier. For example, the towels were absurdly small. My fiance is 6' 2" and 250lbs and had to dry off with basically a hand towel. There was no shelf or anything to place your items on in the shower room. No shower caddy to place your shampoo/body wash in so you have to put them on the floor of the shower which is a bit gross. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and I would recommend this spot. But a few cheap improvements would make it so much better.

The man on reception was very nice to deal with, both happy and helpfull.
It isnt the quietest due to its location on a busy road. Overall for accommodation on a budget its great, id stay there again. Considering its a shared bathroom and seperate shower room and access to a shared kitchen iys supprisingly clean and tidy throughout.

The location of this stay is fantastic and that’s the only positive thing I have to say. My bed had dried blood on the sheets stained, dried blood on one of the towels. The fan was broken does not work in 419. The rooms were extremely warm at night and you will be hot.

It’s very handy to all life. Our room was busy with traffic at night.

Desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Easy walk to city centre and bus stop for tours across the street. Rooms are basic but clean.

Parking situation was miserable, and was one of our biggest daily expenses. Staff was wonderful and kind. As far as the room, we got what we paid for. Cots and a shared bathroom. Shower smells like sulfur, and is very small. Breakfast and parking are not included and expensive, but location is fantastic. Overall 3 stars, people were nice and it was generally what we signed up for. I’d recommend bringing shower shoes and an extra towel for the floor!

The location of 101 Guesthouse is great. Walkable distance to lots of shops and restaurant on the Main Street of Reykjavik. The receptionist is so nice that she allows me to check in a bit earlier upon my arrival so that I can save time for sightseeing. The room is not spacious but enough for one or two nights stay.

Good services provided when we arriving and called, we received good answers when we're asking for the suggestions on our dining, shopping, and attractions around.

Property is right in the middle of everything. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms were clean, a little small, but adequate.

The fire alarm went off at midnight, which is a good thing - however nobody was there to guide us.
The floor smells of Chinese takeaway

Exceptional friendly staff, comfortable bed, great views, great location.
simple no frills room, very basic yet, good value. Towels very thin tattered and only 2 provided. We were only there for a few hours so not important. Excellent breakfast options either at Guesthouse or close by.

Great location with bus stop no.9 right across the street and easy access to shopping street and 24/7 convenience store. Some facility looks a bit old but clean and acceptable considering the price.

I rated a 1 star because I had to cancel for a medical reason and no refund was given. I never went here so I can't comment on any things but customer service.
When I booked, I did not see the note which said they do not give any refunds. I broke my arm about a month before going to Iceland and asked if I could cancel my reservation and receive a refund.
Even tho I told them that the main reason I was going to Iceland to ride the amazing Icelandic horses and go on a 4 day riding tour, and my arm would not be healed in time for me to go on this trip.
A medical note would note persuade them, and as a result I am out over $800.00 CDN.
I caution you to look at the fine print to see their no refund policy.
I won't be able to return to Iceland until next year, and I know now not to book with them. It might be a very nice place but I can't comment on that.

On one end of the shopping and dining promenade in downtown. 1 star hotel that needs renovation.

The slant ceiling was too shallow that I constantly
hit my head!Ha ha! Overall, it was really nice. It was too bad we never met! Thanks for your hostess!

Definitely a good and safe place for solo travelers! I will say the bed had a loose board that I poked my finger on a couple times but outside of that the views from my room were stunning!

The boss is kind and it's downtown, so it's accessible. I recommend you to travel alone.

I guess I really didn't know what a 'Guesthouse' was in the Icelandic sense. This is a hostel where you can get your own room. I had a single room. It had no TV, no temperature control, no adequate bedding, with the wind howling it is not quiet, etc. It was clean and since I was only there 2 nights, it was adequate, nothing more. No one is at the desk the vast majority of the time. The location is good. Perhaps by Icelandic Guesthouse standards this is fine but by most others I would say it is not.

Simple one night stay.
Thank you

nice clean and convenient place to stay for a short break

The first two nights all fine. The last two nights not as good. No hot water on my floor. One filthy toilet was not cleaned during my two night stay there. The managers were not at their desk. I had to complain through an intercom system. All the shower cabins are rusty and require replacement.

Great budget hotel in a great location. Only issue I’d say is it doesn’t appear the greatest from the outside and you might wonder where you’re going but it was perfectly acceptable inside

Top lication for short stay

If you're driving here - don't. I got parking a fair bit away. Also, Google Maps may suggest a route via Laugavegur. Part of it is closed, so it's an extra stress on the drive.
Area looks pretty sketch at night. Your average downtown with crackheads & drunkards.
Other than that, room itself was in pretty good condition & clean, but definitely could use some light restorative work.

Construction made it very hard to find parking

Good for the price. Economical and convenient. Simple but very clean and comfortable. Shared public kitchen with cookware and dining tables. Good location. Walking distance to all hot spots. Restaurants and stores nearby. Pickup/drop-off bus stop #9 only a few steps away.

You get what you paid for. Well-location, basics are all met. On top of it all, very clean.

Good location but the street outside was quite noisy with traffic all night. Friendly staff and easy to access.
Basic room and kitchen was a bit dated.
Overall was ok for a nights stay

Smack in the city Center. Great location, cosy and tiny room. Speck clean as well.
5.0 / 10.0
Perfect place to spend a night, maybe two, on the cheap. Our room was definitely small, but clean and comfortable. The kitchen area was equipped, and there were multiple bathrooms so we never had to wait. Plus you're located right by all of the cute shops and restaurants!
8.0 / 10.0
Hard to find entrance to the property. Big sign on the second floor but little to no signs pointing where the entrance is.
I would only recommend this place for people who are staying at Reyjavick for a night or two. Price is very good and they give the bare essentials for a good nights rest.
For longer stays, you should look into other options which gives better amenities and have more living space.
