I really enjoyed my short stay at The Fisherman’s. I only stayed 2 nights due to train issues, but the cancellation of the third night was very straightforward.
The room was very clean and comfortable. My only issue was creaky floorboards. I woke at 6.30 one morning to the noise of creaky floorboards and it was as if someone was outside my room. I’m sure they weren’t, but it spooked me a little bit. I realise that the property is very old and little can be done about these things, but I thought it worth mentioning.
The breakfasts were excellent.
Thank you to Tracy and her team.

If you’re searching for a hidden gem that perfectly blends seclusion with convenience, this is the place to stay. Nestled just off the beaten path, yet within easy walking distance to the heart of the village, this charming pub is everything you could dream of—and more.
The moment we arrived, we were enveloped by an ambience that exceeded our expectations. This isn’t just a place to stay; it’s an experience—a cozy, vibrant pub that exudes character and warmth. It’s exactly what anyone from the USA envisions when they think of a quintessential Scottish pub.
From the outset, we were welcomed like old friends. Millie, with her infectious warmth, went above and beyond, effortlessly lugging our suitcases upstairs and ensuring we were equipped with all the information we needed for a perfect stay. After settling in, we couldn’t resist heading downstairs to soak in the atmosphere over a local beer and a glass of wine. Tom, ever the gracious host, even took it upon himself to expertly parallel park our rental car, a gesture that perfectly captures the level of care and service here.
Inside, we were introduced to Jo, Tom’s incredible partner, whose warmth and hospitality made us feel instantly at home. She introduced us to a wonderful cast of characters—Craig, Derek, Jack, & many others—who all contributed to the unforgettable atmosphere of this magical place.
If you’re looking to immerse yourself in the true essence of an authentic pub experience, this is where you need to stay.

Great pub, excellent location. The room we had was very small.it was too small for 2 people.it really was a squeeze with our suitcases.
We had room 7 it was very hot, the out side temperature wasnt hot, about 17, but the room was very hot.,too hot
At the end of the stay they said they had a fan in the office we could have used ..
but it should have been in the room.
The pub food was great and the bar was excellent

Cute little pub hotel with great service.

Well looked after from arrival to departure, including finding us a new room as we had ended our stay too early. Great breakfast and friendly bar service in this ideally situated hotel in Broughty Ferry, for a 1 week golf trip around Carnoustie!
I would stay there again - no hesitation!

Nice ambiance at the Pub. Good tasty food.
Superbe room.
Little remark concerning the breakfast in the morning, we were apparently disturbing the person in charge of too many tasks (rooms, breakfast, check out, ...)
4.4
Convenient location, limited free parking, thin walls, and staff not friendly or helpful. Food at bar was good. Patrons of the bar were friendly and more helpful than staff.

We felt so welcomed, especially rolling in at 11pm. So welcomed in fact, that I couldn't resist a few pints and a few interesting conversations! My daughter has accepted at St Andrews so we will definitely be coming back !
Cheers!

Great staff, nice location, clean and good price quality.

I had a wonderful seafood risotto. I have never had so much seafood included in such a dish. My husband had macaroni cheese with haggis topping which he thoroughly enjoyed. The panaccota was delightful.
Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The place has a lovely friendly atmosphere. I would certainly recommend it.

Very comfortable stay, nice room, bit of bar noise but quietened down around 10.00pm so no problem at all. Would definitely stay again. Really good quality breakfast

Creaking floorboards above and in our room made a good night’s sleep difficult, a busy bar and location a plus!!

Very comfortable stay, with great check-in and check-out times. Spotlessly clean room and bathroom :) Breakfasts and evening meals good value and very tasty. Helpful and pleasant staff. I can't wait to go back.

A very pleasant hotel with friendly staff and a great atmosphere in the pub. Excellent breakfast too.

Fisherman’s is a stones throw to the Tay. So you’re right on the water. It’s a cozy, cute hotel with good food and drinks just downstairs. The staff are friendly and helpful. Very clean and plenty of hot water. You won’t regret staying!

We were extremely delighted and happy with our twin room at the Fisherman's Tavern Hotel in Broughty Ferry recently. The room was exceptionally clean, modern and beds were comfortable. The customer service was exceptional from all the staff who gave us a warm welcome from the day of arrival until the morning we left. Despite not requesting any room service over the two day trip, the housekeeper asked us politely if we needed anything for our room so we asked for more towels, toilet rolls, teabags, milk, sugar and bin liner bags which he gave us immediately. The dining room staff went out of their way to reserve us a table for dinner after we arrived at 5 pm even though we never booked it in advance on one of the busiest nights (Saturday). Usually you have to book a table at least 2 hours before the planned meal. We really enjoyed the food and great friendly service. We will definitely be staying at this hotel again for our next visit to the area.

A small hotel close to the sea in the little town of Broughty Ferry..
Personal service and pleasant check in..
The room was tidy and clean and pleasantly decorated.. Unfortunately our bathroom had some issues but we were able to change rooms..
We didn't have breakfast here as they had an issue opening up the breakfast service so we went elsewhere..
The food and bar is very warm and friendly with a good choice of fayre..
The parking is on street but finding a space was easy and with no ticket to buy...
I would definitely recommend this hotel..

Helpful staff, lovely location close to local sites and nice walking area. Very clean rooms.

This was the last stop in our cycle trip after completing the Fife Coastal Path route. We were offered a secure area to park our bikes. The staff were super helpful; offering to dry our wet clothes. It’s convenient for the waterfront, shops and rail station. Would definitely return.
4.4
Good place to stay. Very friendly, helpful staff.
The room was comfortable and spacious. There was some noise from beer barrels getting dragged about and bottles being disposed of. It wasn't a deal breaker though and overall I would recommend the property.
The establishment serves lovely food at reasonable prices and has a well stocked bar for wine, beer and spirits. Cocktail and beer promotion Monday to Thursday.
The position is very convenient and easy to find and only a short stroll from the town and a few steps to the waterfront.
Broughty Ferry itself is a great town to visit. It is a thriving town with a big variety of independent shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants.
We spent 4 days in the town and there was plenty to do. Lots of walking opportunities too and a visit to Dundee City, and the V&A, was easy and inexpensive on the train.
I would definitely recommend the Fishermans Tavern for a stay in Broighty Ferry and for its food and very friendly staff
