A great stay. This is a very old pub, so don't expect the Ritz. But it was clean and tidy. Wonderful staff and a beautiful breakfast. Lovely surrounding area. Fantastic
4.0
All of the above plus convenient parking. Lovely pub garden and also seating space by the river opposite the front. Lovely village. Felt the worn mattress should be replaced. A weird dip in the floor and some plusher carpet. A bigger TV would make viewing from the bed easier. Nice bathroom that looks recent.

Excellent hotel, great staff and great food

Really lovely stay. All the staff were very friendly, and made and effort to ask about what we were up to. The owner couldn’t have been more accommodating.
The room was a good size and clean with a newly removated bathroom. We ate in the bar and had a “small” fish and chips which was a really good sized portion. Lovely views as well!

We spent two very comfortable nights with a modern room and bath, nice breakfasts, and one nice dinner. The inn is in a tiny village with a picturesque ruined castle and church nearby, close to Stourhead and Longleat.

Booked 2 nights in a super king room. Bedroom was lovely and bed one of the comfiest we have slept in with lovely pillows. Only disappointment was the bathroom which was a little tired and didn’t have a shower head of any kind. Breakfasts were delicious and plenty of food. Ate in the restaurant one night and food was very good. Staff all extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely return

A lovely relaxing stay at a lovely Inn. In a quiet and peaceful village. The Inn itself was beautiful and the rooms clean and spacious. The food was great.
I would like to thank Sam and he’s team who went above and beyond to accommodate us when we decided to stay an extra night.
A wonderful and attentive team of people.

Charming place to stay the night. Evening food was great, breakfast excellent. Room very clean.
When are we going back? ....soon.

An excellent property. Immaculately clean. Service and friendliness of staff was superb. A little disappointing no steak on the dinner menu. The breakfast was first class though. Very convenient to Frome. Would recommend

Stayed 1 night and had an evening meal in the pub , the fish abd chips was very good. However, the menu was quite small.
Room was large and bathroom adequate, although if you had mobility issues the shower would be difficult as have to step up into it.
Great for a 1 night stop.
2.5
Great bed! slept so well. My only disappointment was that breakfast took 40 minutes... more time than we really had before heading to the airport.
2.5
Lovely location, handy for Longleat. Food was very good and staff were helpful and friendly. Amazing view of the church from the bathroom of room 10.

Fantastic pub/hotel. Very friendly welcome, fantastic unexpected room upgrade and Prosecco for our anniversary. Amazing food for dinner and breakfast. We can’t fault the place and would recommend to anyone. (It is also located to beautiful village with chocolate box cottages and even a castle!!

Fantastic location, great staff, will stay again

Cute little pub hotel in a cute little village. Room was small and the breakfast wasn’t good. Staff is a bit hit or miss. Definitely not value for money.

Well organised hotel / pub, decent room (exactly as booked), good food for dinner and very good for breakfast.

Room was very clean and comfortable but meal was a bit disappointing. Ingredients left out if one dish and two other meals could have been hotter. Music from the kitchen was loud later while they were clearing up and our rooms were just above kitchen. First morning breakfast very good but second was yet again cold. Such a shame

Lovely quaint hotel, staff friendly, food and service excellent, what more can I say!

Absolutely fantastic place to stay in a picturesque village. Staff very friendly and helpful. Fantastic breakfast and evening meals. We'll definitely be coming again.
We stayed in room 11 (garden room) the only complaint I have is the toilet made a very loud squealing noise after flushing and it seemed to go on for soooo long. However this wouldn't deter us from staying again.

Had great weather met up with family for lunch
Lovely surrounding walks with our dogs
Visited the picturesque town of Frome 3 miles from Nunney.

Everything as expected and food is excelkent

Friendly helpful staff. I can see it would be a great stop for a leisure trip, in an attractive venue and with well presented rooms. But not suitable for business trip. I had to ask for a wifi password - not provided automatically - and when connected the wifi was flakey. The TV was effectively unusable with almost no reception, the light in the room was poor to work with and of the 3 lamps only one had a working bulb.

Beautiful building , beautiful surroundings, amazing food and friendly hosts

A lovely Inn for a stop over with excellent food and service.

Very comfy room and lovely staff.
Had dinner and breakfast - both very good.
Only downside was the music coming from the kitchen which was below our room.

Nice stay spoiled at the end by long delay over breakfast being served despite oNly two tables to serve. Other table had a couple with young boy who was allowed to play his digital game during breakfast with volume not being on silent.

Good country hotel and pub. Good choice and quality of food.. Heating was insufficient in room but it was in extreme cold conditions. Great breakfast.
1.5
Stayed for an evening due to wanting a break, lovely village and beautiful castle opposite, blinds was broken in the bedroom and you could hear the music being played in the kitchen, the tv was a little small for the room and there was spiders and cobwebs in the bathroom, it was a bit hard to charge phones over night unless you climbed under the bed, the food was ok there was slot of shortages and felt like the waitress wasn’t happy at times and felt like she was rushing. Would see the castle again but not stay.

Fantastic stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. food was amazing. Rooms were lovely and bed was very comfortable. Will definitely be staying here again!

Lovely location and a traditional pub. The room was tired and a new mattress is needed. The food was decent but not great and I just feel this place needs more care to make it better

Delightful pub/hotel in a beautiful village. Great service and a special mention to Dani the manager who went the extra mile to ensure we had a good time. Thank you.

I really want to give the George Inn 4-5 stars but it just falls short in so many areas. Pros: quiet location in a pretty little village, stunning Church and castle ruins on its door step. welcome was friendly. Public areas of the inn are lovely, bare stone walls, nicely decorated, with a modern feel. Rooms are clean, with everything you need. Cooked breakfast was excellent. We ate there on the first evening and the food was lovely. Cons: the friendly welcome wasn't followed up on disappointingly, staff seemed to be pre occupied with each over. No one came back to us after our main meal, to ask if wanted desert etc. the bar was empty, no atmosphere, very strange for a weekend and the weekend. Breakfast, was so disorganised! happy to help myself to drinks, cereal etc, but, there was a tea urn, but no tea bags, a large bottle of milk, no milk jugs, cereal, but not enough for everyone, one morning, just empty packets!, there was toast, but it was white one day, only brown the next, all these things could be so easily put right, there are not that many bedrooms, and as the breakfast room is separate to the rest of the inn, it would make sense to have it all set up the night before with milk jugs, tea, cereal etc. it is simply poor housekeeping. Rooms clean but tired, a lick of paint, new bath sealant that's all they require. some of the doors to bedrooms were dirty and in need of paint or at least a wipe down. If these things were put right, & service was consistent easily 4*.

Excellent stay; staff couldn’t have done more to make the stay so enjoyable. Good food and superb location…but you need transport.
