Wondeful hotel, superb staff.

Staff was very nice. The only complaint was I wish there was a refrigerator in the room. Otherwise we had a lovely stay

Always a pleasant place to stay. Great restaurant, comfortable bar. Free onsite assigned parking. Excellent and attentive staff.

We liked everything about this property - from the large bedroom (Room 1) with a large en suite with both shower and separate bath - through the excellent breakfast - to, last though not least, the great and friendly service provided by all the staff.

A great experience, staff were so impressive, extremely helpful and welcoming. Room was great food was very good also.
All in all a place I look forward to staying again.

The only suggestion I have is possibly a mini fridge in the family suite

Service on check in was good, staff were very welcoming and friendly. Toilet in the room did not flush, had to remove the lid to flush. Bed uncomfortable and mattress poor quality and far too hot. Pillows were very thin and flat, offering no neck support at all with no spares or alternatives in the room. Room was above the main bar area which was extremely noisy until it cleared at the end or the night. Patrons were allowed to smoke in the outside seating area which drifted up into the bedrooms above. The shower ran cold for about 5 minutes before the warm water finally came through. Breakfast was included and was very average. To be fair none of this was reported as it was a brief one night stay. That said I would not stay here again.

The Richard Onslow is a nice property in a nice little town. However please review your parking. Locals use the parking spaces so there were none free consequently we ended up paying for parking and walking some way with our bags. When raised with the pub they asked the locals to move but by the time we got our car over someone had parked there again! I suggest if you know you have guests coming you cone the spaces off. We only booked based on parking.

Friendly staff, really large modern comfy warm room, excellent restaurant for dinner and breakfast. And it is a great, busy pub with a good selection of (proper) beers.
Even the problem with a slow draining shower tray in the morning (reported and being dealt with) didn't dampen a really relaxing overnight stay. Will return next time we are anywhere in the area.

Nice pub and hotel. The food was good and the room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom shower was very small and enclosed. The staff were friendly and the location had a lot of shopping around it

A very comfortable 2 night stay, no major gripes at all - service and food was very good.Bar was quiet come bed time - some furniture could do with upgrading but thats a minor point given it was a great place to stay with easy access for Surrey Hills and South Downs.

Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, good tea tray, very clean. Very impressed.
Didn’t have breakfast as didn’t appear to have anything for the children who prefer cereals, croissants etc. adult menu looked good though.

This is a very special property which combines olde world charm with modern comfort, and is one of those rare places that exceeds your expectations. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the bar and restaurant charming and the room we stayed very spacious and comfortable. There was a good selection of real ales and the food outstanding; both my husband and I describing meal and particularly our starter (independently) as exquisite! Our thanks to everyone and in particular Gavin the chef. The only point we could think of for improvement was the signage for the car park.

We checked in quite late... upon arrival we were checked in seamlessly.. we stayed in room 6 which contained the smallest twin beds i have ever seen.
The cost for such a small room is very over priced... i was charged over £100 but i had no choice as i attended an event that day.
We woke up and checked out at 0630hrs as the bed was very uncomfortable and very small.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful but the cleansiness of the room was not to the best standard. We found dead bugs on the floor under the table and a long spider web hanging from the ceiling.

The Richard is an amazing place to stay. It's a lovely old pub, serving high quality food, in the middle of a pretty village. Our room was the size of an apartment with parking just outside. Staff were really helpful. Nice extra touches like water, biscuits & hot chocolate. I'd love to go back.

We had a fantastic stay at The Richard Onslow. Lovely, clean, comfortable and spacious room, excellent food at both Breakfast and Dinner and all right in the middle of the beautiful village of Cranleigh with everything on the doorstep. Above all the service from the friendly, helpful staff was brilliant.

Matress wasnt the comfiest but room was beautiful. Overlooked high street so some noise. Pub is lovely and very popular. Wish is was my local.

The room was nicely furnished and spacious, had good quality replenishables, and a comfortable sofa and easy chair, albeit facing away from the wall-mounted TV. As there was no desk and no light close to the seats, this is probably somewhere to use as a touring holiday centre rather than for a business trip. Cranleigh itself seems like a nice, clean and safe town, complete with a retro-style baker's directly opposite, a leisure centre 400m away, and all the well known brands of coffee, sandwich and charity shops on the doorstep.

Last minute night away, booked with 24hrs notice. Lovely pub with rooms, staff really friendly, pub had a good atmosphere and good drinks. We had dinner in the Eatery and again the staff were amazing, nothing too much trouble and clearly knowledgeable. The food was delicious and served timely with a smile. We were in an accessible room which if I’m honest was tired, ample for a last minute night away but could definitely do with a bit of TLC. Bed comfy, and amenities all working. We didn’t stay for bfast as were up and out beforehand so can’t comment. The only negative comments I’d make which aren’t necessarily any one person’s fault but something to bear in mind an definitely not a reflection on the individuals who work there. Outside the door for room 8 there is a bright florescent light which illuminates through the window in the top of the external door (I would suggest a thicker fabric there). The disabled alarm light flickers red which is a bit irritating especially for a light sleeper like me! And lastly the room is right next to the kitchen so if you sleep before 10pm you may have to find a way to drown out the kitchen sounds as it seems to echo through the double door corridor internally, but I will add by 11pm this had abated :)

Friendly staff. OK food. Downside is the room was above the pub and the music was VERY loud on a Friday night so I couldn't begin relax until 11.20pm when the music was turned off. For that reason, I wouldn't sleep there again.
OK sized room.
Also the carpets in the bedroom needs a wash.

Really warm welcome with super friendly staff who really went out of their way to help. Great start.
Wifi service not up to business use so able to access Dropbox or transfer large files. Kept logging you out and required date of birth details to access (tacky/unacceptable in terms of data security for paying guest). Had to use my hotspot on phone which added stress and delay. Small things were disappointing - milk cartons for coffee 6 months out of date and curdled - fan in room thick with dust so had to clean it - top missing from shampoo bottle in shower.
Food service in restaurant was excellent and very much enjoyed the supper. Perhaps room issues these are post-COVID teething problems but seriously need to sort wi-fi as would not recommend for business users until this is done.
Service from staff excellent.
