It was a Christmas do.
2.0 / 10.0
Really disappointed there was no air conditioning, poor sound proofing to the corridor, a very small tv in the room, lack of coffee machine at breakfast (and no fresh fruit). Felt more like mass catering than a service to the clients. Coupled with this the spa area was shut due to numbers when we wanted to use it.

Stayed for mine and my partners anniversary the hotel was very busy due to two weddings on the day! We asked for a quiet room which they kindly sorted out but most of the wedding party was over in that building although we couldn’t hear the wedding music we got disturbed numerous times during the night with loud noises, giggling and banging. On departure I had a very bad headache and sore throat as I was about to leave the room. I noticed mould all up the wall on the floor. This is potentially why I felt unwell as untreated. Mould can cause health problems. I have stayed here numerous times never had a problem, but this was a disappointment

Some very positive things to stay about the staff and the inclusive breakfast. Condition of the jacuzzi was poor. Otherwise all ok.

Only stayed overnight so didn't really get the full experience, but from what I could see it looked like an great hotel/resort in terms of what was on site. But I stayed in one of the eco pods, which if it had been a warmer day/night would have been okay, but I do not recommend staying one in anything lower than 10 degrees celcius temperature, because it was freezing. There's a small radiator in the pod, but it doesn't reach far in the pod so you don't feel it's heat and the door was letting in a huge draft as it has no seals.
That's one thing in general that would improve the pod idea, better sealing around the door to stop heat escaping/letting cold air in and also keep noises out. You could hear activities nearby constantly and people walking around outside on the gravel. Ear plugs are supplied in the room, but they're not to everyones liking for sleeping, for me personally they aren't

Great room in hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Also stayed in the pod which was basic and we were woken up by garden machinery at 6am which was very annoying. Pool and spa was nice but needs upgrading. The "hot tub" is a "luke warm tub". Receptionist Dan was very friendly and offered an excellent welcome.

Pods are very cute

Was a great stay but was disappointed in the room, as for the money I paid I expected a bit more from it. Also had to pay extra for breakfast.

We stayed as a couple for two as a base while visiting Goodwood Revival.
The room was a good size and the bathroom was immaculately clean.
Just a couple of things to note. There was no hair dryer in our room which I didn’t realise until I’d showered and got wet hair. The maid service has to be booked, it’s not automatic. So we didn’t have beds made, tea/coffee replenished. There are no robes in the room, but I appreciate they’re not advertised but as a 4 star I expected them as standard. And finally the breakfast is a buffet and busy times mean there isn’t fresh items of everything so it was pot luck if the bacon had been replenished, same for eggs etc.
All in all a lovely location but it was too big for my preference and prefer a little bit more small and friendly.

Good. No complaints

Stayed in one of the eco pods which although quite comfortable meant having to walk to communal toilet bock and showers in the middle of the night

Woken up by housekeeping welcoming themselves into my room at 8.20/30 and also waiting at the end of the corridor asking if I was leaving well before the 11am checkout time! Surely they know when a room is occupied and due to check out? Obliterated the idea of staying after spending time in the numerous bars on site which gave great service thanks bas and Spencer! Shame the stay was ruined by impatient housekeeping

Inside Pod and housekeeping was Excellent but the outside could be better. Also keys for Pod are a little temperamental.

No aircon. Very hot room. Got a fan but pretty poor for an expensive Spa resort. No late checkout for Gold member... 2 hours 20 pounds. All in all OK but a little disappointed

Excellent views and amenities availabile where amazing.

Comfortable and prepared nicely. The location of the bathrooms (from the pods) may not suit all.
The breakfast was well organised and of good quality

The spa was terrible, really disappointed. It was broken in so many places. The tropical pool areas bubbles didn't work, and it was cold. The big pool was freezing. There were no chairs to lay on at all unless you wanted to sit outside and freeze. The sauna and steam room were sooo full couldnt get in. When i mentioned to the staff there were no sears they just sniggered and said yeh thats what it is always like. I said how am i supposed to relax if i cant sit down. Spoke with other customers and they also were really annoyed stuff was broken, they mentioned one of the hot seats were broken too. When there are only 5 that isnt great. Also we were told we got a robe if we gave a deposit which we got back on its return. This is not true. We had to pay and we didnt get the money back, so we didnt get a robe which reallly sucked.
They also allow young kids in the spa area in the afternoon so we had jumping splashing and screaming
The flat was lovely amd had besutiful views which made up for the spa being so bad. The room was lovely and we were very happy with how clean it was etc.
However, we got no sleep at all. This strip was supposed to be my first time being away from my kids, getting some sleep and relaxing. However got woken up too many times to count with shouting and screaming guests literally until the very early hours of the morning. I would have got more sleep at home with a baby.

We stayed in a 2 bed apartment. They are huge for 4 people! An ensuite in each bedroom, well equipped kitchen, dining area and plenty of seating. We had a ground floor apartment and the back wall was floor to ceiling glass/patio doors which looked right over the golf course. It was lovely to be able to open the patio doors in the evening.

The pods have no running water or bathroom facilities. You have to leave the pod to use the bathroom or the shower. If you have to use them bring a dry robe and some sliders so you don’t have to get completely dressed. I booked somewhere else.

Stayed in the Eco Pods, AVOID
Very expensive for what they are, it’s just like camping with shared facilities that are a distance away and few in number. Have to get out of bed to turn the lights off!
Even the buffet breakfast wasn’t great, fresh fruit was just apples.

It’s a spa hotel in the countryside with all the facilities one can expect. I used the spacious well kitted out gym. Our room was also spacious with a full bathroom there is a room safe, kettle and iron. Staff pleasant and helpful.

Incredible. Our apartment was perfect.
The staff in the restaurant + sports bar. The tall gentleman with glasses (on entrance) fabulous, couldn't do enough for us.
Young tall man with tall hair on the bar, fantastic.
Check in was smooth and speedy as was check out.
Only downside is we didn't realise we had spa use includes in our stay so we didn't bring our swim gear. Bit we will be back to do this!!!

We stayed in one of the eco pods. It was chilly, however the portable radiator did help. I did have to switch it off due to it clicking every time it reached temperature and when it switched back on again. The grass was being cut at around 6am on Sunday morning, which woke me up. I know it had to be done, but I thought it was rather early for a Sunday morning. Everything else about my stay and the facilities were great!

The Eco pods have no toilet/bathroom or running water despite there being a picture of one on the website and in the dispription one being listed under room amenities. Instead there is a dirty smelly communal one a fair walk away. Only two small bottles of water in the room and a small heater that took ages to heat the cabin, I woke up at 5am freezing at the end of June! the outside seating area was covered in bird dropoings and cobwebs. The reat of the hotel was clean and looked good and the brwakfast was also good.

I found myself in an eco pod with disposable paper cups and two plastic throw away bottles of water- no toilet or washbasin and only two lights mounted at high level over the bed. Impossible to reach whilst in bed. The only toilets and showers were about 30 metres away.

Hotel, food and facilities were excellent. Staff friendly and accommodating. We came for 1 night for the Queen tribute. Was a little disappointed with the performance but the Dj that followed was good. Played our sort of music that filled the dance floor.

We had a lovely time staying in the eco pod and using the spa. The hotel is lovely and huge and facilities are great!

The reception staff were helpful, in the fact that they gave me a key and told me head straight through the bar as it was raining however once I got to my Eco pod it was getting dark and there were no instructions as to where the light switch was so I had to trudge back to the reception to ask (in the pouring rain) again. Also, no one told me where to get water from for the kettle or where the bathrooms were situated. After a 4-hour journey in the pouring rain and then spent 15 minutes trying to find these, I didn't find it at all relaxing.
Once getting up this morning I tried getting back to the reception the same way I arrived, however the room was locked and there was no signage for way to reception!
Took ages to find my way back.

Went here for. Dinner dance. Food was amazing as was entertainment.
Had a fantastic night.

The only thing that makes this a 4star is the lobby and the area you first see. The rooms are average, limited amenities , no air conditioning. Over priced bar.
The spa is nice but ruined by a large number of noisy hen party groups.
It’s clean enough but certainly not what we expect from nearly £300 a night for a standard room.
Staff were very rude and not helpful.

Stayed in a pod Lovely weekend away but could do with a hairdryer in the shower block

Old thorns was okay. I had always heard good reviews however was slightly disappointed. I felt it was a hotel with some spa facilities instead of a dedicated spa. The food was really average I was not impressed at all, the service at dinner was so poor we only had water after 40 minutes. Breakfast was nice, however the buffet was very dirty with hairs on the side etc. You do not get robes and slippers with the room it’s £20pp to rent. For me at a spa I would expect these included. The gym was slightly outdated with old dumbbells etc. the pool was nice however, busy. The golf course looked great this looked like a good one day event. Otties was also enjoyable. The room was adequate. There was no minibar, toilet brush, toiletries, the mattress wasn’t amazing and the tv was old.

Stayed for a friend’s wedding & got basic room. Comfortable bed but very noisy- no insulation so could hear everything from outside in the corridor & other rooms!
Decor was a bit tired & furniture was scratched and dented - but we didn’t really use it. Tea and coffee provided in the room & nice towels in bathroom! Room was £109 not including breakfast, so a bit pricey for a basic room.
Staff were all lovely & very helpful, we should have put the DND sign on the door as we were woken up early by housekeeping!!

Nice big room, but service not great. Room wasn't serviced during the day. TV wasn't working. Reported to reception but no one came to look at it.
